Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

The business partner was gone for quite a while before he returned.

When he came back, however, his face was pale and etched with apology.

”I’m sorry, Boss Sherwood. You see, something came up at home and I’ve held us up.”

”It’s all right. Is everything taken care of, Mr. Young? We’ve pretty much wrapped things up here. If you’re busy, please don’t let me keep you.”

Mr. Young said, ”It’s fine, it’s fine. It’s all been handled—just a small matter. Come, Boss Sherwood, let’s continue. Working with someone as young as you, Boss Sherwood, makes me feel younger myself.”

”To our successful partnership, Boss Sherwood, let’s have another drink.”

Mr. Young raised his glass. After clinking it with Ivy Sherwood’s, she finished the drink in her cup. Mr. Young stood up and personally poured Ivy a refill.

As he poured, Mr. Young said, ”Boss Sherwood, let’s have a little more.”

”Mr. Young, I can get it myself. Besides, there are waiters.” Ivy Sherwood tried to stop him. She was extremely cautious when she was out; she almost always poured her own drinks and wine, disliking it when others touched her glass.

”Alright, alright. You can do it yourself, then. You’re too kind, Boss Sherwood.”

While everyone’s attention was on him and the drink, he discreetly lifted his hand and dropped a small pill into the soup in front of Ivy Sherwood.

Mr. Young sat back down. Feigning carelessness, Ivy Sherwood ”accidentally” dropped her glass on the floor and asked the waiter for a new one.

Although she didn’t think Mr. Young would actually do anything, Ivy still believed it was better to be safe than sorry.

The two continued to chat. Mr. Young said, ”Boss Sherwood, have some soup. The soup of the day here is really quite good. I’ll have another bowl.”

Ivy Sherwood had already had some soup and found it quite delicious. She had been a picky eater lately and was often prone to nausea, but this soup felt very refreshing and settled her stomach.

Ivy picked up her spoon and took another taste. Only after seeing Ivy drink the soup did Mr. Young let out a sigh of relief.

He silently apologized to Ivy in his heart. ’Ivy, don’t blame me. I had no choice. Who told you to get targeted by Boss Rhodes from Aethelgard?’

’What kind of man is that Boss Rhodes? He’s not someone a small company like mine can afford to offend.’

’I didn’t want to do this either. But Boss Rhodes said if I didn’t, my company wouldn’t see the light of another day. And Charlie Rhodes had investigated me, even mentioning that my daughter is only eighteen and might be even more fun to play with. I can’t risk my company and my daughter.’

Even though Ivy had brought bodyguards who were waiting outside, Charlie Rhodes had said he could take care of those two.

Although Mr. Young felt a pang of guilt, he still went through with it.

Before long, Ivy felt a change in her body. She hadn’t had any alcohol, yet a searing heat was spreading through her.

It was a heat Ivy Sherwood was not unfamiliar with.

She had been drugged by Gabriel Walker before. She had trusted Mr. Young so much, and she had been so careful all evening. To think she had fallen into a trap anyway.

Ivy stood up. ”John Young, what did you do to me?!”

She had come here to discuss a partnership with John Young because she trusted him.

John Young dropped to his knees and kowtowed to Ivy. ”Boss Sherwood, don’t blame me! I was forced! It’s because Boss Rhodes has his eyes on you! He threatened me with my daughter! I really had no choice.”

John Young wept, kowtowing relentlessly.

Ivy didn’t know which ”Boss Rhodes” John Young was talking about. She only knew she couldn’t stay here any longer.

She had bodyguards outside. She could get away!

Ivy yanked open the door to the private room, only to find it wasn’t her bodyguards standing outside, but Charlie Rhodes.

An excited smile spread across Charlie Rhodes’s face. He was surrounded by several of his men. His hair was streaked with gray, and the dark circles under his eyes were severe. He was grinning so widely that drool was nearly spilling from his mouth.

”Ivy Sherwood, I never thought you’d be hiding a secret this deep. If I’d known you were this beautiful, I never would have bothered with that Thea Sherwood.”

When Charlie Rhodes smiled, all the wrinkles on his face bunched together, his eyes narrowing into slits. He looked disgusting no matter how you looked at him.

”Charlie Rhodes, so it was you!”

”It’s me, Ivy Sherwood. You have no idea... my little guy hasn’t stood at attention for over thirty years. But the moment I first saw you, he actually stirred, you know? You’re a real treasure. Don’t you worry, I’ve already booked a room. I’ll be gentle with you, I promise. I’ll make sure you feel good,” Charlie Rhodes said with a lecherous grin.

Before, it was just a glance; he hadn’t gotten a clear look. Now that he could see her clearly, Charlie Rhodes felt a wave of heat wash over his entire body.

Beautiful. She was just too beautiful, like an ethereal fairy who didn’t belong in the mortal world.

He had seen countless beauties, but compared to Ivy Sherwood, they all paled by an indescribable margin. Before meeting Ivy, he couldn’t have imagined someone so gorgeous existed in the world.

He had seen Ivy before, but she had looked completely different. It was a good thing he saw her true appearance, or his loss would have been immense.

Tonight, Ivy Sherwood was his for the taking. There was no escaping his grasp!

Ivy lifted her gaze and glared viciously at Charlie Rhodes. Once the drug took effect, it spread through her body rapidly.

Ivy’s legs were starting to feel unsteady. She clung to the nearby wall. ’Even if I have to jump from here, I will never let a pervert like Charlie Rhodes have his way!’

”Get out of my way!” Ivy tried to run past them, but Charlie Rhodes’s men blocked her path.

It was safe to say Ivy had no chance of escape.

She wanted to make a call, but Charlie Rhodes had already given the order: ”You lot, take her to the private room upstairs. I’m going to go get things ready.”

He wanted more props. Tonight, he was going to have his fun with Ivy Sherwood.

The men grabbed Ivy’s arms, forcefully dragging her away. Her phone fell to the floor.

’Tonight, absolutely no one will be able to disturb them.’ The thought sent a jolt of energy through Charlie Rhodes’s entire body.

Inside, John Young was still on his knees. He scrambled up. ”Boss Rhodes, you said that if I helped you drug Ivy Sherwood’s food, you would spare my daughter.”

Charlie Rhodes said dismissively, ”With a daughter who looks like that, did you really think I’d be interested?”

...

Quentin Blackwood’s car was parked at the restaurant’s entrance. He knew Ivy Sherwood was here for a meeting and wanted to take her home.

But Quentin didn’t go in to disturb her, afraid that Ivy wouldn’t want to see him.

Quentin smoked two cigarettes in his car, then he saw John Young walking out of the restaurant.

’Isn’t that the person Ivy’s supposed to be meeting with tonight? He’s come out, so where’s Ivy?’

Quentin saw no sign of Ivy behind John Young, and John’s expression was all wrong. Quentin immediately got out of the car and strode over. ”Where is Ivy Sherwood?”

Quentin’s expression was exceptionally fierce, and John Young was startled by the man who had appeared so suddenly.

”Who... who are you?”

”I asked you, where is Ivy Sherwood!” Quentin roared, terrifying John Young.

He wasn’t a bad person at heart. If it weren’t for Charlie Rhodes’s threats, he never would have done something like this.

Thinking about what he had done, John Young was already tormented by guilt. Now that someone was questioning him so forcefully, he immediately confessed, ”It was Charlie Rhodes! Charlie Rhodes drugged Ivy Sherwood and took her away!”

Hearing this, Quentin Blackwood’s heart sank. His eyes instantly turned vicious.

”What did you say?”
