Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 861, I’ll Let You Ride Me Once

Translator: Silavin

“If you’re no match for it, how are we supposed to kill the Blood Moon’s Owner?” Lu Fan asked, puzzled.

The Devouring Dragon King rubbed her temples, speaking helplessly. “You’re usually quite sharp, so why are you being so thick-headed now? Why did you even think I am going to fight it alone? You’re coming with me to face it, aren’t you? You’re a Dragon Tamer. When fighting alongside you, all Giant Dragons will have their Combat Power skyrocket. Plus, you have so many Pet Dragons. Although, Mechanically, they’ll be restricted and won’t be able to display their proper strength if we combine our powers, do you think we would still fail to take it down? We have more than enough to compensate for the power gap between me and that thing. So, if nothing unexpected happens, killing it shouldn’t be that difficult.”

After a pause, the Devouring Dragon King raised an eyebrow at Lu Fan. “What, don’t tell me you’re scared to face it with me?”

“That’s not it!” Lu Fan immediately refuted. “Even if the Blood Moon’s Owner is powerful, I’d still do whatever I can to take it down. I just don’t want to sacrifice myself pointlessly. After all, I believe in my high potential. As long as I don’t die, there’ll always be opportunities to kill these Ancient Gods’ lackeys, or even the Ancient Gods themselves. If you were telling me to fight the Blood Moon’s Owner alone, I definitely would refuse. But if you’re saying we will be joining forces and we have a good chance of winning, then we should go.”

“Naturally, the condition is that my Pet Dragons can’t suffer any casualties.”

The Devouring Dragon King thought for a moment. “Your Pet Dragons should be fine. After all, they’re all over Level 90. With me around, having no casualties shouldn’t be a problem. Actually, I originally didn’t plan to ask for your help, but the situation is what it is. Without borrowing your strength, I truly don’t have confidence in certain victory.”

“As long as we can kill the Blood Moon’s Owner, I’m willing.” Lu Fan said with a smile, extending his hand toward the Devouring Dragon King. “Come to think of it, this is our second time cooperating since dealing with the Divine Bone Ancient God, right?”

The Devouring Dragon King directly swatted down Lu Fan’s hand, apparently having no intention of shaking hands with him at all. There was even a hint of disdain in her tone as she said. “I suppose so.”

“Strictly speaking, this time, we are truly cooperating. Moreover, I will be doing so in the capacity of a Pet Dragon. You can’t just fight alongside me. Our level of cooperation needs to be deeper than that.”

“For instance, I need the Attribute Enhancements from the Blade Armour Dragon King, the Jade Dragon King, the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon Kings, and others. Plus your Bloodline Sharing Awakening as a Dragon Tamer, and so on.”

“You need their Attribute Enhancements? And my Bloodline Sharing Awakening?” Lu Fan frowned. “That’s possible, but they require certain conditions, which is…”

“You need to equip the Dragon Saddle on me, then Ride me, right?” The Devouring Dragon King interrupted Lu Fan, speaking directly.

At this moment, her snow-white face showed a shade of crimson. It was unclear whether this blush was from shyness or from the shame of being ridden by Lu Fan.

In any case, it made the Devouring Dragon King seem even more charming.

Lu Fan laughed awkwardly. “That’s indeed the case. At least for Bloodline Sharing Awakening, and especially for Bloodline Sharing Awakening. For its full effectiveness, I must ride you for it to work.”

“Of course I know that!” The Devouring Dragon King bit her silver teeth and turned her head away. “Just stop saying ‘ride’ over and over. I hate that word!”

“Alright…” Lu Fan sheepishly closed his mouth, no longer mentioning that interesting word.

The Devouring Dragon King then said. “Ride me if you must. When the time comes, equip the Fallen Corpse Holy Dragon Kings and the Blade Armour Dragon King, share their Attributes with me, then have the Jade Dragon King attach herself to us to maximise the Attribute Enhancement. This way, my strength will surge dramatically. Combined with help from the Frost Dragon King, the Hell Poison Dragon King, and other Pet Dragons, dealing with the Blood Moon’s Owner shouldn’t be a major problem.”

“But, let me make this clear. Riding me is only allowed this once. In the future, even if you call me ‘Grandmother’ and pray to me like I’m your Ancestor, it will never happen again!”

Lu Fan spread his hands. “Alright, alright, I understand. Let’s consider this a major sacrifice you’re making to kill the Blood Moon’s Owner. I couldn’t possibly be so greedy as to constantly make you my Mount.”

“Not just that!” The Devouring Dragon King continued. “You can’t tell anyone about this either! After I help you three times and we part ways, from then on, we’ll act as if we never met! I don’t know you, and you don’t know me. Understand!?”

“If I hear rumours that a Devouring Dragon King had once served as someone’s Mount, I’ll immediately come before you and devour all your Pet Dragons right in front of your face!”

The Devouring Dragon King’s fierce threat made Lu Fan break out in cold sweat. He said with difficulty. “But what if someone else spreads false rumours, and it wasn’t me who leaked it…”

“I don’t care! Your head will still roll!” The Devouring Dragon King was completely unreasonable, giving Lu Fan a headache.

Seeing that Lu Fan had taken her words seriously, the Devouring Dragon King secretly smiled, then put on a stern expression. “Enough, stop overthinking. If you don’t reveal this, who would be so bored as to spread rumours about me? So just manage your own mouth.”

“This settles it then. Do you have time now? If you do, let’s immediately go after the Blood Moon’s Owner. Delays will just breed complications.”

Lu Fan thought about it and agreed. Now was not the time to be argumentative with the Devouring Dragon King. The urgent matter was to kill the Blood Moon’s Owner.

“Of course I have time now. Let’s hurry and find it.”

The Devouring Dragon King did not waste words. Wings sprouted from her back as she signalled for Lu Fan to follow her deeper into the Far North to search for the Blood Moon’s Owner’s trail.

Seeing this, Lu Fan also mounted Ye Sha and followed behind her. The Devouring Dragon King led the way, flying toward the source of the Monster Tide surging through the land.

Throughout this journey, she showed no interest in the Fallen Corpse Puppets below.

However, Lu Fan occasionally had Xiao Ye, who was riding with him, unleash Cataclysmic Apocalypse to clear out the Monsters below. He gained quite a lot of Experience Points like this, and soon, Xiao Ye’s Human Level increased again.

The Devouring Dragon King saw this but said nothing.

As such, the man and Dragon ventured deep into the Far North, travelling for a full three hours.

Soon, Lu Fan spotted where the Griffin Legion’s original camp had been located.

Only devastation remained here now. The ruins of buildings were buried by wind and snow, likely to be completely covered soon, leaving no trace to be found.
