Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 586, Want to Kill Lu Fan?

Translator: Silavin

On the ground, several Arrays suddenly appeared out of nowhere, projecting interwoven beams of golden light, with their focal point being the Golden Feathered Roc in the sky.

It was evident that someone had concealed these Arrays here as a trap, waiting for the Golden Feathered Roc to appear before activating them.

This golden light dealt no substantial Damage, but it wove into a net that immediately enveloped the Golden Feathered Roc.

As the golden net tightened, the Golden Feathered Roc could no longer fly and immediately plummeted from the sky.

To trap a Level 90 Platinum Grade Boss, this golden net had to be at least a Platinum Grade Engineered Item. Moreover, it had sacrificed Damage to achieve superior Crowd Control, such that even the Golden Feathered Roc could not break free from it.

Lu Fan had not expected that while he had intended for the Golden Feathered Roc to carry him along for a ride, an enemy was hunting down his Golden Feathered Roc, and he had ended up caught in a disaster.

As the Golden Feathered Roc plummeted rapidly, Lu Fan had no choice but to extend a chain hook from the armour on his arm. With a swift motion, he cut an opening in the golden net.

Although this was a Platinum Grade Engineered Item, it was clearly far from enough to trap Lu Fan.

Subsequently, Lu Fan retracted the chain hooks bound to the Golden Feathered Roc’s body, flew out through the gap in the golden net and released seven consecutive chain hooks from behind him. These seven then shot down, supporting him up from below. They caught him just before he landed, allowing him to touch down with exceptional grace and stability.

Meanwhile, the Golden Feathered Roc beside Lu Fan crashed to the ground with a thunderous *boom*, landing in a dazed and battered state.

After landing, Lu Fan retracted his chain hooks and surveyed his surroundings, feeling slightly angered. He wanted to see who exactly was hunting his Golden Feathered Roc, which had nearly caused him to suffer alongside it.

As expected, several figures appeared from the surroundings, rushing towards the Golden Feathered Roc.

“We’ve caught the Golden Feathered Roc! Quickly, advance! While it’s still under Crowd Control, deliver as much Damage as possible. Otherwise, once it tears through the net, it’ll be difficult to handle!”

“Frost Mage God, pay attention to the coordination of your Crowd Control Skills. Keep it docile as much as possible and make the net last longer!”

“Quickly, quickly, quickly! We are pressed for time! Immediately act once you are close enough!”

These people all wore Dragon Country attire, and appeared to originate from some Ancient Noble Family.

Regarding their Levels, they should all be above Level 90, with only two or three Third Profession Players. They were presumably there to make up numbers and provide Crowd Control.

This group had uniform clothing and numbered seven or eight people, likely representing the core strength of some Third Tier Ancient Noble Family.

When these people charged to within close range of the Golden Feathered Roc, they immediately noticed Lu Fan standing beside it.

The group paused in surprise. One young Third Profession Player reacted more quickly, asking the others. “How is there still someone here?”

“Third Uncle, you should all refrain from casting Skills to avoid injuring him…”

Before he could finish speaking, a burly man at the front with a full beard interrupted him, directly shouting, “He’s probably someone from outside who accidentally entered the Western Border. Looking at his attire, he doesn’t resemble someone from an Ancient Noble Family. He seems to be a Monster Material Hunter. Since he’s not from an Ancient Noble Family, we need not concern ourselves with him. Everyone, continue casting your Skills. We cannot let the Golden Feathered Roc escape! As for that young man, killing him is of no concern! If we don’t kill him, he might compete with us for the Boss!”

As he spoke, he extended his hand, and a battle axe as tall as a person materialised and was grasped in his hands.

“Bloody Battle Axe!” A thunderous roar, his battle axe immediately emanated Blood Qi, indicating his intention to cleave both Lu Fan and the Golden Feathered Roc together.

Behind him, several accompanying Mage Gods chanted incantations, and several Ice Element Skills exploded around Lu Fan in succession.

Among this group, there were only Ice Element Mages. It appeared they intended to use Crowd Control Skills to firmly trap the Golden Feathered Roc while the bearded man served as the primary Damage Output.

Therefore, this bearded man’s axe strike would definitely possess considerable power. Unless one was a Fourth Profession Player, being killed by his axe was a certainty.

Lu Fan was not even given an opportunity to speak. Simply because he did not appear to be a Player backed by an Ancient Noble Family, the enemy intended to eliminate both him and the Golden Feathered Roc together. This intensified Lu Fan’s rage.

[As I thought! The Wilderness is a place where the strong preyed upon the weak.]

Right now, Lu Fan did indeed resemble a Player who might compete for the prize, and the enemy’s direct attack was absolutely the most straightforward method.

Lu Fan could completely understand this.

However, if the enemy wanted to kill Lu Fan, then Lu Fan’s retaliation was perfectly reasonable, was it not?

The Ice Element Crowd Control Skills released by this group struck Lu Fan and the Golden Feathered Roc first, instantly freezing both man and bird.

Simultaneously, the bearded man’s giant axe arrived, swinging towards Lu Fan’s waist.

Just as the bearded man believed his axe strike would be enough to finish off Lu Fan, something occurred that left him so astonished he doubted his own existence.

Lu Fan moved a little and easily shook off the Frost from his body. He could not even be Frozen due to his Passives.

Subsequently, the armour on Lu Fan’s hand suddenly extended a blade approximately a metre long, resembling a longsword.

Lu Fan raised this blade from below, bringing it into contact with the bearded man’s battle axe.

There was no earth-shattering sound, merely a *hum*, and the bearded man’s Skill got bisected.

Also bisected was the battle axe of considerable Grade in his hands.

A clean cut appeared on the battle axe. The severed axe head spun through the air before crashing to the ground, creating a deep crater.

Without the axe head, the bearded man’s strike naturally missed its target.

Having encountered no resistance, he staggered and nearly fell, but Lu Fan would not allow him such embarrassment.

At this moment, two chain hooks had already shot out from behind Lu Fan. Like living creatures, they thrust forward directly, easily piercing through the bearded man’s torso and continuing onwards to embed themselves in the stone wall of a hill several thousand metres away.

Subsequently, Lu Fan’s expression remained unchanged as he manipulated the two chain hooks to interweave like scissors, simultaneously sweeping in opposite directions.

Instantly, the bearded man’s torso was bisected, and he fell to the ground with a *thud*, dying immediately.

This was not the most terrifying part.

Most terrifying was that the two chain hooks embedded in the hill did not spare even its peak.

Under the sweep of the two chain hooks, this hill was actually severed at its waist, with the sound of tumbling rocks resembling thunder!

In an instant, the hill appeared as though it had been struck by a Forbidden Spell, leaving behind a smooth cut.

Such a scene caused all those behind the bearded man to halt their steps, not daring to advance another half step.
