Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 572, Kage Mako, Yamata no Orochi

Translator: Silavin

[Another ‘Believer’? No wait. This thing is swimming up. It definitely cannot be a Monster from Heavenly Divine Peak. The Divine Being had used golden sand to denote this place as a Forbidden Zone for its Believers. All Believers are unable to set foot in areas where golden sand exists, let alone reach the summit. What’s more, that thing swimming up is clearly stronger than anything I’ve faced here. It is definitely a Boss, and a strong one at that. It can’t possibly be a native Monster of Heavenly Divine Peak.]

Lu Fan thought to himself that he had been somewhat careless, having kept his attention focused on the Blade Armour Dragon King the entire time without paying attention elsewhere.

Otherwise, with such a massive creature coming up, he would have definitely noticed it immediately.

This massive creature looked like an enormously huge pitch-black giant python, even larger than the seven-coloured python that Lu Fan had seen Kiran control back in the National Trial Secret Realm. This one had an even more oppressive presence.

No, compared to this pitch-black great python, Kiran’s seven-coloured python was nothing more than a worm!

This pitch-black great python was not only massive but also had eight heads, each with a different appearance. On its body, there were also three pairs of flesh wings, equally sizable, which looked like they were not there merely for decorative purposes.

As if to confirm Lu Fan’s thoughts, after the eight-headed python reached the summit, the flesh wings on its back flapped once, lifting its body and suspending it in mid-air.

Combined with the constant hissing from those eight heads, such a Monster truly exerted considerable pressure on others.

Lu Fan narrowed his eyes, looking at this Monster, and indeed saw its information above its head.

Yamata no Orochi, Level 119, Master: Kage Mako
This thing being Level 119 was one thing, but it was actually someone’s Pet?!

Upon seeing this information, Lu Fan could not help but be surprised. [There is another Player on Heavenly Divine Peak!?]

Moreover, judging from the Level of the Pet named Yamata no Orochi, the opponent’s Level must be even higher than 119!

Someone approaching their Fifth Profession Change would be considered a top expert even in a major superpower.

[Seemed like Cherry Blossom Country also has a ton of hidden might just lying dormant. This person’s backing within Cherry Blossom Country must also be very influential.]

Lu Fan immediately activated Black Dragon Perception, wanting to see where exactly this person called Kage Mako was.

However, it seemed Lu Fan did not need to trouble himself, because following the appearance of Yamata no Orochi, another Human figure also climbed to the summit. It was undoubtedly Kage Mako.

This person was a bald man who appeared to be only around thirty years old. He was wrapped in black robes, not tall in stature, with skin pale as a sheet – an extremely sickly white.

At the same time, his face and bald head were covered with various tattoos.

These tattoos were extremely complex, appearing to be some kind of ancient text from Cherry Blossom Country that Lu Fan did not recognise.

This person did not reveal his information, so Lu Fan could not determine his Level and Profession. However, under his perception, Lu Fan could tell that while he possessed considerable oppressive presence, he ultimately had not crossed the threshold of his Fifth Profession Change.

Compared to Divine Bone, this man was clearly a step below.

Therefore, taking everything into consideration, Lu Fan determined that his Level should also be at 119, just one step away from his Fifth Profession Change.

Facing this uninvited guest, Lu Fan naturally bore no pleasant expression. Especially not when the Blade Armour Dragon King Egg was right here.

However, the opponent did not linger his gaze on Lu Fan for too long. After merely glancing at Lu Fan once, he turned to look at the Blade Armour Dragon King, his face showing undisguised astonishment as he exclaimed. “So this is the Monster that descended here earlier? It does indeed look extraordinary. I did not spend such a high price to purchase this intelligence in vain. It’s just unknown what kind of Monster this is, and whether it’s easy to Tame…”

Speaking thus far, he looked at Yamata no Orochi above his head and smiled. “Little Eight, use your Eyes of Illusion to see what exactly this thing is.”

One of Yamata no Orochi’s heads heard the command and immediately took action.

On this head, countless eyes suddenly opened, each pupil blood-red throughout, containing a gently rotating symbol.

Anyone could see that this was most likely some kind of Detection Skill that could forcibly view the opponent’s various information. It was essentially an enhanced version of Appraisal.

However, with the Blade Armour Dragon King in her Guardian Stance, even Eyes of Illusion could not see through it.

Yamata no Orochi used the Skill on the Blade Armour Dragon King for a while but gained nothing.

“Even you can’t see through what this thing is!?” Kage Mako was first stunned, then his expression showed joy as he said. “This isn’t bad news either. At least it shows that this Monster’s origins are absolutely extraordinary. I haven’t wasted all this time climbing up Heavenly Divine Peak.”

In his words, this person seemed to have already determined that he would Tame the Blade Armour Dragon King.

Lu Fan finally could not bear it anymore and shouted. “Hey, what are you muttering to yourself about there? Who exactly are you?”

Lu Fan’s words drew Kage Mako’s attention to him.

Kage Mako looked at Lu Fan and chuckled. “I almost forgot you were still here. As for my name, if you look at my Little Eight’s information, you should be able to tell by now, shouldn’t you? I am a Level 119 Susanoo Shikigami. But in Cherry Blossom Country, not many people know my name.”

Pausing briefly, this person’s tone carried a hint of pride. “Of course, only those strong enough with sufficient status, high enough to come into contact with certain existences that transcend national power, know of me. When they hear my name, it would be like thunder in their ears.”

“Of course, telling you all this is merely wasting words. Your name is Lu Fan, right? You should be from Dragon Country. Third Profession Change, Dragon Paladin, and a Hidden Profession at that – not bad, not bad. Not long after I climbed Heavenly Divine Peak, I spotted you, then kept myself hidden, using Little Eight’s Eyes of Illusion to observe you as you scale up.”

“To think you, a mere Level 61 Player, was actually able to consecutively slay Monsters above Level 100. Whether it’s your Profession Characteristics or your own strength, both are things I’ve never seen before. To be honest, in my country, actually in the entire world, I don’t believe any youth is your match.”

Lu Fan’s eyes narrowed slightly, thinking to himself that he had truly been careless. [To think someone has been secretly observing me all along, and that I’ve been completely unaware of it!]

This incident really served as a warning to him.

Originally, with Lu Fan’s Black Dragon Perception ability, as long as he paid attention, he should have been able to detect Kage Mako’s presence.

However, Lu Fan subconsciously assumed that since he was deep within the Wilderness, there should not be any other Players present. At the same time, all his attention was focused on developing the Bloodline Sharing Awakening Skill, so he neglected to have his guard up against his surroundings. This allowed Kage Mako to remain hidden in the shadows all along without being discovered.
