Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 500, You, A Mere Decoration, Dare to Call Me Weak!?

In an instant, cheers erupted from the crowd, with emotions running as high as during the Dragon battle between Lu Fan and Chen Tianzhi.

Since this was the final exam, the referee on site was Vice Principal Zhao Shengming.

Zhao Shengming’s expression remained extremely calm, as he was familiar with Lu Fan’s strength and knew that today’s match held little suspense.

“Are both sides ready? If you are prepared, today’s exam will immediately begin!” Zhao Shengming stood in the middle, looking at both Lu Fan and Meng Jia’s team in turn.

Neither side wasted words, nodding to indicate they were ready.

Zhao Shengming made an “En” and said. “Then, the countdown begins. Three, two, one, start!”

As the word ‘start’ left his mouth, Zhao Shengming’s entire body transformed into a bolt of lightning and flew outside the platform. At the same time, a barrier formed around the perimeter, ensuring that the residual power from Skills used in the match would not affect the spectators outside.

After the examination began, cheers rose and fell throughout the venue, as everyone waited to see an exciting battle.

In particular, most people’s eyes were fixed on Lu Fan and Meng Jia. Which of these two was stronger and which was weaker would soon be revealed!

However, surprisingly, neither Lu Fan nor Meng Jia made a move.

Indeed, forget about Lu Fan, even Jian Ying showed no intention of drawing her weapon.

Of the ten people present, only Jiang Fengyun’s four team members, along with Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu entered the battle. They drew their weapons and charged into position according to their battle formation.

Jiang Fengyun was quite surprised at this sight, as he had thought he would be facing Qin Qiu, Tao Xiaoman, and Jian Ying, but unexpectedly, Jian Ying had no intention of participating in the battle.

“You’re only letting these two face us? Aren’t you looking down on us too much!?” Jiang Fengyun roared with anger, his body flickering as he engaged Tao Xiaoman in close combat, their blades clashing.

Yet, with this exchange, Jiang Fengyun immediately sensed something was wrong.

Jiang Fengyun had believed his Level and Attributes should be superior to Tao Xiaoman. However, when their blades collided, he felt that Tao Xiaoman’s Strength Attribute was not below his own!

As their blades clashed, water splashed and shadows erupted, with neither able to overwhelm the other.

Tao Xiaoman’s expression remained relaxed. After blocking Jiang Fengyun’s strike, she smiled and said. “So what if we look down on you? We agreed that you four would be handled by Xiao Qiu and I. Sister Jian Ying has no interest in you, and as for Lu Fan, he’s even less inclined to fight you.”

Having said this, water suddenly surged from Tao Xiaoman’s blade, creating huge waves that actually forced Jiang Fengyun back!

Jiang Fengyun retreated with an astonished face, surprised to discover that this young lady before him was actually exerting great pressure on him. [How is this possible!?]

From beginning to end, Jiang Fengyun had never taken Tao Xiaoman or Qin Qiu seriously. In his view, only Jian Ying in Lu Fan’s team was worth facing seriously. But as soon as he crossed blades with Tao Xiaoman, he discovered that her strength seemed no worse than his own!

[Wasn’t she just someone who clings onto Lu Fan, and coasts along!? Why is she so strong!?]

At this moment, behind Jiang Fengyun, the Arrow God in the second line had already charged his Skill and instantly released three Magic Disruption Arrows aimed directly at Tao Xiaoman.

Meanwhile, Qin Qiu waved her staff and cast a beam of Holy Light, precisely intercepting and shattering the three Magic Disruption Arrows in their air.

Not only that, but after destroying the Magic Disruption Arrows, although her Holy Light beam had dimmed somewhat, its power remained formidable as it blasted toward the second line behind Jiang Fengyun.

Such a powerful Skill shocked the people in Wind Cloud Pavilion.

Fortunately, Xu Jing reacted quickly enough, immediately supporting a Magic Barrier that repelled Qin Qiu’s Skill and protected the second line.

Even so, the fact that Qin Qiu’s casual Skill had such power made Xu Jing and the others break out in cold sweat.

Besides Tao Xiaoman, they could not believe that Qin Qiu , a Holy Light Mage, also possessed such terrifying strength!

Jiang Fengyun suddenly began to doubt himself. [What is going on with these people!? They are supposed to be fodder. Why are they so ridiculously strong!?]

Moreover, what nearly made Jiang Fengyun curse aloud was when Tao Xiaoman looked at her blade, then at Jiang Fengyun, and said something that almost sent him into a frenzied rage—

“Why are you so much weaker than I expected?” Jiang Fengyun almost cursed out loud. [You, a mere decoration, dare to call me weak!?]

Little did Tao Xiaoman and Jiang Fengyun know that Tao Xiaoman’s current Level and equipment completely outclassed Jiang Fengyun’s. Even if Jiang Fengyun was strong, he truly could not gain any advantage against Tao Xiaoman right now.

That was why Tao Xiaoman was surprised that she could force Jiang Fengyun back with just a casual sword strike.

“Brother Jiang, be careful. Their equipment seems much better than ours!” Xu Jing, as the strategist, immediately noticed that Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu’s equipment was not ordinary – definitely far superior to theirs.

This was why Jiang Fengyun and his team fell behind in their first exchange with the two.

Jiang Fengyun guessed that Lu Fan had probably given them some High Grade equipment, which was why he could not easily defeat Tao Xiaoman.

He had previously boasted to Meng Jia that he would quickly dispose of everyone except Lu Fan, but now he was being held back by Tao Xiaoman. How could he give a satisfactory explanation to Meng Jia at this point?

So, without looking back, he said to Xu Jing and the others. “These two girls have some skills. We need to go all out to suppress them and Jian Ying. We need to create an opportunity for Brother Meng to deal with Lu Fan!”

“Alright!” Xu Jing and the others responded, beginning to release their Skills.

Seeing Xu Jing and the others getting serious, Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu also became solemn, preparing to face their opponents.

Xu Jing did not hold back. He stamped his foot, and a ripple spread out, seemingly setting up a Boundary to seal Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu’s Skills.

Seeing this, Tao Xiaoman thrust her sword into the ground and activated Overwhelming Surge again. Surging clear water rushed forth, colliding with Xu Jing’s Skill.

Tao Xiaoman’s Overwhelming Surge had the Effect of Cleansing the opponent’s Skills. This directly countered Xu Jing’s Skill Effects.

When two Skills, designed to negate each other, collided, it was like the point of a needle meeting the edge of a blade. They each tried to eliminate the other.

The result, naturally, was that Xu Jing prevailed.

After all, Xu Jing’s Profession was of a Mage Type, so his Mana Attribute was definitely far higher than Tao Xiaoman, who had a Magic Swordsman Type Profession.

After a brief standoff, Xu Jing’s Skill directly erased Overwhelming Surge, and the Magic Prohibition Skill enveloped Qin Qiu and Tao Xiaoman.
