Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 497, Easy Victory

Translator: Silavin

Streams of water suddenly rose from the ground, winding up along Tao Xiaoman’s body, forming a suit of armour, shielding her front.

Because Tao Xiaoman had detected the approaching Assassin early on, her Flowing Water Armour Skill was activated at just the perfect moment, successfully blocking the Assassin’s dagger.

The Assassin’s dagger struck Tao Xiaoman, landing on the Flowing Water Armour, but could not penetrate even a fraction of a centimetre.

At the same time, because he had launched an attack, his figure was also revealed from his Concealed State.

The Assassin was greatly alarmed and instinctively wanted to withdraw his dagger and retreat. Because once an Assassin emerges from their Concealed State, their fragile Physique would be unable to compete with most Players.

Only by retreating, going invisible again, and waiting for the right moment to use their High Burst Damage to launch the next round of attacks would they have any hope of winning.

However, when he tried to retreat, he discovered that his dagger, which had sunk into Tao Xiaoman’s Flowing Water Armour, could not be pulled out!

It was as if Flowing Water Armour was not made of flowing water, but cement!

“Sorry about this!” Tao Xiaoman turned her head with a smug smile, then twisted the sword in her hand, scooping up a strand of water from the ground, and splashing it towards the Assassin who was caught in a dilemma.

Immediately, this strand of water transformed into a huge tidal wave, directly sending the Assassin flying off the platform. This had basically announced his elimination.

At this moment, the Effects of her Overwhelming Surge Skill had also ended, allowing the Swordsman and the Knight to break free from the Water Dragons. There, they landed on the water-stained floor.

Seeing that in the short time they were Imprisoned, all their companions had been eliminated by Tao Xiaoman. Both of them could only make a bitter smile. Still, neither of them gave up. They simultaneously launch an attack, determined to fight with Tao Xiaoman until the very end.

Tao Xiaoman also moved in, engaging in close combat with the two of them, showcasing her strength as well.

At this moment, the Arena was filled with flowing water.

The water had completely turned the Arena into Tao Xiaoman’s battlefield. With a casual swing of her sword, scooping up a strand of water, she could transform it into various Skills.

At the same time, the water flow beneath her feet made Tao Xiaoman feel like a fish in water.

But for her opponents, they felt somewhat restricted in their movements, limited by the water.

Clearly, the water on the ground must also be some kind of Skill Tao Xiaoman had casted, capable of Crowd Control them.

Although the Crowd Control Effect was not obvious, it could still enhance Tao Xiaoman’s strength to some extent.

As the battle progressed, the gap in strength between Tao Xiaoman and her opponents widened further.

Lu Fan closely observed Tao Xiaoman’s battle, nodding with approval.

To be honest, Tao Xiaoman’s match was, of course, child’s play for Lu Fan. If Lu Fan were to face Tao Xiaoman, he would not even need to use Skills; a single sword strike would solve her.

But Tao Xiaoman’s strength, among peers of her age, was still considered Top Tier. At least in a normal match like this, she could completely dominate her opponents and had not made any major mistakes.

As for her opponents, they were pretty mediocre. Their performance was not particularly eye-catching, but the division of roles was clear, and there was not much to criticise. As such, although they were eliminated in the first round, they should not receive a failing grade.

Soon, the opposing Swordsman and Knight were also defeated, knocked off the platform by Tao Xiaoman.

The teacher watching the match nodded silently. Picking up a pen and paper, he wrote down something, presumably grading the students in the match.

Although Tao Xiaoman had held back, injuries were inevitable in a match. Those hit by her Skills had some internal injuries.

Lu Fan had intended to summon Xiao Cui to cast Spring of Life on them, but Tao Xiaoman waved her sword, causing the water on the ground to rise and wash over the five opponents.

As the water washed over them, the complexion of all five visibly improved, becoming lively once again. They gratefully thanked Tao Xiaoman.

Seemed like Tao Xiaoman’s Profession was truly balanced, combining Damage Output, Crowd Control, Defence, and Healing all in one.

Though none of these abilities stood out individually, she was very versatile, able to fill in any position.

Since the five opponents were not seriously injured, Tao Xiaoman’s Healing abilities alone were enough, so Lu Fan did not need to summon Xiao Cui.

This match did not take too long, and the five opponents gracefully admitted defeat.

After returning to the platform, the five naturally complimented Tao Xiaoman, which pleased her greatly. She even adopted a ‘yes this Young Mistress is an expert’ demeanour, which was quite funny.

Since the Arena was needed for other students’ matches, the two teams did not speak for long, and they left the platform early after the match.

The opposing five could now go back to pack their things, preparing to return home for the long four-month holiday.

As for Lu Fan and his team, they still had to stay in the Arena, waiting for the next round of draws to begin.

At this time, in the waiting area, several teams were already resting.

Undoubtedly, these teams were strong, quickly securing victory in their first matches, then coming here to wait for other teams to finish their matches and join in the draw.

Among these teams, Lu Fan recognised a few familiar faces, which were the mostly outstanding freshmen living in those few villas.

Among them, of course, was the team that included Jiang Fengyun and Meng Jia.

After Lu Fan brought the four beautiful girls to the waiting area, they found a quiet place to rest, while discussing about Tao Xiaoman’s performance.

From start to finish, Lu Fan did not pay much attention to Meng Jia and his team. But they kept staring at him, clearly conscious of him as a competitor.

At this moment, Meng Jia sat on the resting sofa with his heavy sword planted beside him. At the same time, his Level was openly displayed above his head, and his Blood Cloaked Legion Medal on his chest was always worn.

It seemed that since Meng Jia had publicly revealed his Level and identity as a Third Grade Cavalry Officer from the Blood Cloaked Legion, he no longer hid anything, and was especially proud to show off his status.

Because of this, Meng Jia’s team occupied the best positions in the resting area. Although there were other sofas nearby for people to rest on, no one dared to approach them.

Nearby, Jiang Fengyun and his team seemed to be in good spirits, chatting enthusiastically. “That team we just faced was really unlucky to encounter us. Out of the five, only one had undergone their Second Profession Change. When they saw they were drawn against us, they did not surrender and insisted on fighting. And the result? Xu Jing, Wang Hu, and Li Xianyang, just those three, easily sent them to the medical bay. It was hilarious.”
