Chapter 409: Chapter 203: Above Secret Techniques – Secret Technique (Combined Chapter)_2

These two scrolls were considered to be Rein’s two trump cards.

That is why Rein had the confidence to confront enemies at the level of a Great Knight head-on.

His greatest source of confidence, of course, came from his system.

However, these two Sorcery Scrolls were one-time-use items; once they were consumed, he currently had no means to replenish them, which meant that each used scroll decreased his stockpile.

After revisiting the strategy, Rein once again focused his thoughts on the remaining two Skill Points.

He had already made preliminary plans on how to obtain the next two Skill Points.

For one of them, Rein planned to slowly increase his Wizard Apprentice (Transcendent) Professional Experience by practicing foundational meditation and exercising witchcraft each day.

Rein estimated that the required five hundred points of Experience would take about ten days, which was closely linked to his continually enhanced spiritual power and subsequently strengthened stamina.

In the past, casting witchcraft a few times would almost exhaust his spiritual power.

As for the last Skill Point, Rein planned to first try crafting an Intelligence Potion to see its effect on Beast Tamer Professional Experience, especially since he had prepared the ingredients well in advance.

Thinking it, he did it.

Rein walked out of his room and quickly came to the adjacent potion room, which was actually similar to the storeroom he had in Flashgold Town.

Recently, he had asked the beautiful lady to purchase some common glassware, such as beakers, for uncomplicated potion crafting, which for now was sufficient.

Before starting the crafting process, Rein seriously reviewed the production procedure of the Intelligence Potion from the ‘Beast Taming Diary’:

“….Step one, first weigh a bunch of starweed and grind it into a powder….”

Before long, Rein began working on the first step of the Intelligence Potion procedure—preparing the starweed solution.

This step required grinding the starweed into powder before diluting it with distilled water and filtering it to produce the starweed solution. The process was not difficult, and Rein weighed the starweed and then crushed it with a wooden pestle…

Minutes later, Rein nodded at the pale green liquid in the transparent test tube.

Due to the enhancement of his spiritual power, the first step was exceptionally simple for Rein.

Step two…

Step three…

Rein looked at the green reagent in the glass test tube, bubbling away, and nodded in satisfaction.

A success on the first try! Not bad!

At this moment, the system updated a series of notifications:

[You crafted an Intelligence Potion, insight enhanced!]

[You have gained a new skill— Intelligence Potion Crafting]

[Your Intelligence Potion Crafting skill has improved, Experience +30]

[You focused on Intelligence Potion Crafting, your Beast Tamer (Transcendent) Professional Experience +22]

….

Huh?

22 points, that’s a nice number of Experience Points, even higher than the previous Mutated Growth Potion.

After several tries, Rein was almost certain.

Each successful crafting of an Intelligence Potion could net him about twenty or more points of Experience Points. If he completed all ten batches, he could gain almost two hundred Beast Tamer Professional Experience Points.

Besides, the Beast Tamer role could also derive Experience from subsequent nurturing.

Rein roughly estimated that he could gain about five hundred Beast Tamer (Transcendent) Professional Experience Points through this batch of Intelligence Potions.

The gap from the required two thousand points for leveling up was still significant.

This made Rein frown slightly.

“The main ingredient ‘starweed’ isn’t sold in the bat marketplace…”

While Rein was pondering solutions, a knocking at the door interrupted his thoughts.

“Knock knock knock!”

“Baron, a Night Watchman captain has come to visit you at the mansion’s entrance, saying his name is Matteo,” reported a servant.

Huh, Matteo?

Rein immediately arched his brow, having always had a good impression of Matteo for his careful and efficient work. Thinking about it, it indeed had been a while since he last saw him.

“Please, invite him in!”

Soon, a man of modest height but slim build entered the room.

“Matteo, what brings you to the County Town? Come, join me for breakfast,” Rein said, looking up at Matteo with a smile.

“Baron, please don’t bother about the breakfast. Entrusted by Lord Hamilton, I have to hurry to the prison next to represent the Night Watchman in a joint interrogation of that rebellious army brigadier general,” Matteo said, apologetically waving his hand.

Rein nodded; he was aware that Matteo excelled in interrogations, and it surprised him that Hamilton had transferred him from Flashgold Town so quickly.

“Lord Rein, this is something Lord Hamilton asked me to give to you; it was found on that rebellious army brigadier general, and it probably belongs to your war loot,” Matteo said, raising his eyebrows and handing over a light-yellow sheepskin scroll.

“We had to strip down that brigadier general’s Knight Armor and found this item inside the lining of his armor,” Matteo said with a hint of pride, as he was the sharp-eyed one who discovered it.

“Lord Rein, you severely damaged his armor in the fight, it took us a great deal of effort, and we couldn’t remove the armor that was already mangled with flesh,” Matteo explained, gesturing with his hands the struggle they had the previous night removing the armor.

“In the end, we had to call two blacksmiths with giant shears to help us remove the Knight Armor from him,” Matteo concluded, detailing the effort taken.
