Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 87: Chapter 75: A Match Made in Heaven

SCREECH~

Liu Li was careless for a moment, and an arrow shimmering with purple light slashed across her fair cheek.

However, even though the arrow was poisoned, the nearest Adventurers felt no joy at the sight. The reason was simple...

When the arrow grazed Liu Li’s cheek, it was just a light scratch that should have left only a small cut. Instead, the wound instantly widened, like a gauze pouch stuffed to bursting, splitting Liu Li’s pretty face into an upper and lower half!

Yet, that wasn’t the most terrifying part. What truly struck fear into their hearts was the purplish-black tumor that erupted from between the two halves of her face!

The onlookers stared blankly at the horrific transformation of Liu Li’s face. A strange, purple halo flowed silently over the tumor, which pulsed as if it were breathing, resembling the gaze of a Demon...

”AHHH!!!”

The one who screamed wasn’t one of the Adventurers, but Liu Li!

For the first time, a panicked expression appeared on her face. She lowered her head and scrambled back a few steps. One of her eyes moved to the back of her head, cautiously glancing at Isaac. Seeing that he hadn’t noticed, she breathed a sigh of relief and quickly closed her face back up.

Then, her pretty face turned grim as she glared in the Archer’s direction.

”You’re dead!”

The Archer had excellent eyesight, so he had noticed the bizarre scene the moment his arrow hit. He was frozen in place, a new arrow just nocked but not yet drawn.

Seeing Liu Li turn to look at him with such a grim, ferocious expression, his heart leaped into his throat. Even from dozens of meters away, a sense of foreboding crept over him...

CRACK! x4

The next moment, before he could react, four large, invisible hands seized his hands, his neck, and his skull!

SNAP!

SQUELCH!

Without a shred of hesitation, the Invisible Hand instantly crushed the Archer’s hands, neck, and head—an instant kill!

This sudden turn of events stunned everyone, including Isaac in the sky. Watching the Archer’s body fall and a pool of blood slowly spread, he scratched his head in confusion.

Although he couldn’t see it either, he knew the Archer had been killed by Liu Li’s Invisible Hand. But he didn’t understand why Liu Li had suddenly acted so ruthlessly.

’Didn’t we just agree to use them for practice and go slow?’

He didn’t understand, but since Liu Li had done it, he figured he should get serious and end the fight.

With a light tap of his right foot, Harmon understood and carried Isaac into a swift descent.

Meanwhile, after killing the Archer, Liu Li’s icy gaze fell upon the three remaining men. Four invisible hands stirred beneath her skirt, each pulling out a massive cleaver!

GULP~

Faced with this bizarre scene, a chill went down the three Adventurers’ spines. They swallowed hard and began to back away cautiously, a feeling of regret dawning on them for the first time...

As Adventurers, they didn’t fear death—not their own, nor their comrades’. So when their teammate was killed earlier, they only felt a hint of sadness, not regret. It was the path they had chosen.

Such is the life of an Adventurer; you never know whether death or tomorrow will come first.

But they weren’t fearless. At the very least, they were terrified of dying at the hands of a monster like this!

Terrified!

Because in a world with Magic, death was not the end...

So they wanted to flee, but how could Liu Li possibly let them go?

’Anyone who has seen my true face must die!’

’Anyone who tries to ruin my image in my master’s eyes must die!’

’Anyone who wants to harm my master must die!’

Unfortunately for them, these men were guilty on all counts.

So, seeing them trying to escape, Liu Li brandished five large blades and charged the Adventurers.

At the same time, Isaac finally descended into Casting range for Flesh Mutation. He stood on the Demon Claw, protected by two shields, floating thirty meters above the ground. He extended his right hand, his palm aimed at the Swordsman and Shield Bearer who were struggling against Liu Li.

By now, only the two of them remained. The other Tier One Swordsman had been cut down the moment Liu Li got serious, while Isaac was still descending.

And these two were also at a disadvantage, completely suppressed by Liu Li, who was wielding five blades!

It couldn’t be helped. Although their overall abilities were on the same level, Liu Li possessed an Authority. With five blades in total, her attack patterns were bizarrely unpredictable!

And she could often strike from the most unbelievable angles!

Especially the one she held in her two hands. It was as if...

...she had no joints!

And at that thought, the image of the breathing tumor flashed through their minds...

’Maybe she really doesn’t have any!’

PFFT!

HISS~

Just as they pushed aside their distracting thoughts, preparing to focus on fighting Liu Li so they could escape, they felt a slight itch on their necks. Then, it felt as if something had bitten them there!

The Swordsman parried an incoming blade and was about to check his neck when he suddenly found his vision turning strange. He could see... the upper left side of his own face... and his own eye?

’Why is an eye flying out? Is the background the blue sky? And what are those fleshy tendrils behind the eye?’

”AHHH!!!”

While the Swordsman was still confused, he heard his partner let out a terrified scream. He quickly looked over, and all the strength drained from his body, his Longsword clattering to the ground.

He saw his teammate... looking like... he was dissolving?

Fleshy tendrils were sprouting from his body. As the gentle breeze blew, one could almost see the... skeleton... within, which was covered in teeth!

Even more terrifying, all his facial features had flown off—his ears, nose, mouth, and eyes had all detached from his body, connected only by a thin, fleshy tendril...

’Huh? A flying... eye? And a fleshy tendril... connected to it?’

’I think... I’m also... like this...’

The Swordsman looked down and saw that he too was covered in fleshy tendrils. And it seemed those tendrils... had grown mouths?

Just as he thought it might be an Illusion Technique...

...searing pain made him let out a bloodcurdling scream!

”AHH!!”

Every organ and tissue in his body erupted into chaos. The mouthed tendrils began to tear into each other indiscriminately!

But the wails of the Swordsman and the Shield Bearer did not last long, for their vocal cords had also mutated, no longer under their control...

”Sheesh... this Magic...” Isaac stood in Harmon’s palm as it slowly descended, landing in front of the writhing mass of flesh. He frowned, watching the grotesque scene.

This Flesh Mutation Magic, an optimized version of Flesh Conversion, was more effective than he’d thought. It was especially potent against purely physical professions with no resistance to the Mysterious. It was just, its effects were too... too... indescribable...

Isaac looked at his right hand, conflicted. ’It might cost me my sanity, but this Magic is really strong. It took out a Tier Two Great Warrior instantly. The question is, should I use it in the future or not?’

Isaac found it hard to decide...

Seeing that Isaac truly hadn’t seemed to notice what had happened earlier, Liu Li felt a small sigh of relief. Then, her icy gaze fell on Shushu, who was frozen in fear on the carriage.
