Chapter 2625: Chapter 2626: Perfect Match

”Kaier’s guess, I feel... quite interesting.” Dox also spoke at this moment: ”Didn’t you make an identical pendant? Why not try it?”

Angel was actually inclined to do so, but Dox’s suggestion made him feel a bit troubled.

Earlier, he said he used Mithril to craft an identical pendant as a replacement, and demonstrated it on the Illusion Screen.

But in reality, he hadn’t finished the crafting. He just made a roughly sized blank with Mithril. After all, he hadn’t actually come into contact with the pendant; he only saw its approximate appearance. Crafting an identical one, including weight, would be difficult.

Therefore, Angel planned to modify the blank quickly once he had the chance to come into contact with the pendant and then pull off a switcheroo.

Now, with Dox suggesting they try it, he could only use the blank for testing, which hardly showed whether the two would fit together.

However, this wasn’t a problem for him. Since he already used Illusion Technique to simulate it once, he could continue to use Illusion Technique to simulate the ”crown + pendant,” which also served as a ”cloud” evaluation.

However, Angel could only display a two-dimensional image, as he wasn’t sure if the three-dimensional structure would fit.

Fortunately, he used a Light Screen as the medium to ”broadcast,” not a ”holographic broadcast,” which allowed him to display just a flat image.

”Since you think so too, I’ll give it a try.” Angel’s tone was calm, as if he really decided to try it just because of Dox, completely hiding any indication that his internal balance had already been swayed.

After speaking, Angel slowly simulated the crown and the silver pendant on the Light Screen.

It must be said, when the two were placed together, the color harmony was more apparent. Especially since both used engraving techniques; although the crown’s engraving subtly flickered with gold powder and the pendant’s did not, it didn’t affect their compatibility.

Even the Black Earl couldn’t help but say, ”Setting everything else aside, this engraving technique is likely from the same hand.”

Angel didn’t respond, not because he disagreed with the Black Earl; rather, the pendant’s engraving on the Light Screen was purely simulated by him using Illusion Technique and might differ from reality, so it couldn’t serve as evidence.

Then, on the Light Screen, the two ornaments of the same hues slowly moved closer... closer...

At this moment, everyone was speculating whether there would be a sense of discord when the crown and pendant were combined, or if they really fit together as Kaier guessed?

However, just as the two ornaments were about to combine, the screen suddenly froze.

They paused for half a minute.

The Mind Ribbon inquired Angel, but Angel didn’t respond.

However, the screen didn’t vanish, which implied Angel wasn’t in trouble. Otherwise, there’d be no need to divert attention to maintain the screen’s presence. Hence, everyone was simply curious about what Angel was doing, not overly worried.

In reality, Angel did encounter a situation, but it was not a bad thing.

Because Earl Mi had completed the information gathering and voluntarily exited the cultivation state.

Angel noticed Earl Mi’s movement and immediately stopped the Illusion demonstration, focusing instead on Earl Mi.

Earl Mi’s exit might cause the other two Ghosteye Witches to exit their cultivation state, so Angel had to be prepared.

However, what surprised Angel was that Earl Mi’s exit went very smoothly.

The ”Armored Knight” representing Earl Mi slowly released its arms embraced with the other two knights.

Meanwhile, the other two actual Armored Ghosteye Witches had little reaction; they even willingly released their arms to let Earl Mi exit peacefully.

After Earl Mi exited, the two Armored Ghosteye Witches once again embraced in a rather unpleasant-to-look-at posture.

Everything went so smoothly that even Angel was surprised.

After confirming the two Armored Ghosteye Witches hadn’t left their cultivation states, Angel quickly communicated with Earl Mi through telepathy to inquire about the situation.

Earl Mi’s answer was brief as well.

——All information was successfully copied.

This ”all” was intriguing, as it implied that the two Armored Ghosteye Witches fully opened their information to Earl Mi... Could it be, they really thought Earl Mi was the new favorite Ghosteye Witch?

Or was it Earl Mi’s own ability?

Angel inquired further, and Earl Mi’s response was detailed, yet Angel still couldn’t discern the exact reason.

Because all Earl Mi did was basic: simulate the Ghosteye Witch. And the shadow of this Ghosteye Witch carried almost no information, akin to a newborn Ghosteye Witch, a complete blank slate.

Seeing this, the two other Armored Ghosteye Witches opened their entire information libraries, and what followed was Earl Mi directly extracting the information.

Because it was Earl Mi extracting the information rather than being inundated with it, the authenticity of the information remained guaranteed, and there likely weren’t any manipulations.

But why the two Armored Ghosteye Witches were so agreeable, Angel still hadn’t figured out.

However, it didn’t really matter, as long as the result was perfect; the process wasn’t as important.

And as for the result, through questioning Earl Mi, Angel confirmed that Earl Mi had grasped the method to draw other Ghosteye Witches into cultivation.

Yet, whether it was possible to forcibly draw all Ghosteye Witches into cultivation was still something Earl Mi couldn’t determine since everything remained theoretical.

Solving this issue was simple, as there were many Ghosteye Witches nearby not currently in cultivation. They could just go and try.

With that thought, Angel stood up and called out to Dangross, who was playing not far away: ”Stop playing, we need to go.”

Dangross looked at the box in Angel’s hand, confirming the lid was closed and no icy aura was emanating from it. Dangross then scrambled towards Angel, leaping onto his shoulder.

Angel returned the bone box to its original place, leaving the two bottles of Scent untouched; as for the crown, Angel took it with him.

However, Angel crafted an identical crown to leave inside, even mimicking the original crown’s lingering aura. With his skills, fooling the Ghosteye Witch was simple.

While twirling the crown, Angel walked out of the cell that exuded a faint fragrance.

Though he wasn’t yet certain if the crown and the silver pendant truly had a connection, keeping it for now was a wise choice.

Angel quickly reached the middle of the corridor where there were several Ghosteye Witches not in cultivation, though most were wandering alone. If Earl Mi were to forcibly draw a lone Ghosteye Witch into cultivation, exiting might alert them.

Therefore, Angel planned to attempt it in a room where multiple Ghosteye Witches coexisted. After all, it wouldn’t be just one Ghosteye Witch Earl Mi would face, but possibly hundreds.

Being cautious, Angel decided to let Earl Mi only face two non-cultivating Ghosteye Witches initially to see if it could pull them into cultivation.

As for where to find cells with two non-cultivating Ghosteye Witches, he wasn’t worried, as he had seen them earlier. Nearby, there’s a cell where two Ghosteye Witches were ”whispering;” the cell opposite held two Ghosteye Witches not cultivating.

It didn’t take long for Angel to find the cell.

Inside, the two Ghosteye Witches were still not in cultivation, just leaning on the rails, watching the cell across.

Angel didn’t know why they shared a cell without cultivating but instead watched the other Ghosteye Witches cultivating... Maybe they were ”learning” the posture?

It’s alright, this works too. Focusing attention elsewhere can make it easier for Earl Mi to get closer.

After entering the prison cell, Angel stood in the shabby corner, then began to signal Earl Mi to act.

Earl Mi approached silently.

Perhaps they were really engrossed in ”learning,” or perhaps Earl Mi’s stealth was exceptionally skilled, even when Earl Mi’s shadow slowly touched one of the Ghosteye Witch, the other didn’t notice.

Earl Mi’s actions were swift. When the avatar-mimicked Ghosteye Witch touched one of the Ghosteye Witch, it immediately injected the shadow into the other’s body through the contact point.

And at this moment, the still physical Ghosteye Witch visibly stood still for a moment, then turned around and stared at Earl Mi.

Although Earl Mi was a Ghosteye Witch it didn’t recognize, the other was already starting to exchange information with it, so it had no reason to refuse.

Solidified into a half-physical half-phantom shadow, the black shadows quickly fused together.

Earl Mi, while fusing shadows with this Ghosteye Witch, simultaneously extended the shadow slowly, then through the ground, directly touching another Ghosteye Witch’s foot.

With the same quick, precise force, the shadow forcibly fused with the other.

The other Ghosteye Witch also entered a fusion state after a brief daze.

Moreover, under Earl Mi’s guidance, the two Ghosteye Witches slowly approached and quickly stuck together.

Cheek to cheek.

After confirming the two Ghosteye Witches also began mutual fusion, Earl Mi, who brokered this pair, finally ”retreats successfully.”

When Earl Mi returned to Angel’s side, the story of the three ”people” finally returned to the ending of two ”people.”

”Nicely done!” Angel praised Earl Mi in his heart.

Then watched as those two Ghosteye Witches, paired together, quietly left the prison cell...

A successful attempt made Angel more daring. Next, he let Earl Mi forcibly fuse shadows with more uninhibited Ghosteye Witches.

One on three, one on four, one on five... Earl Mi could handle them all perfectly.

Later, Angel became bolder, starting to target lone Ghosteye Witches with Earl Mi.

As for why he only targeted lone Ghosteye Witches now, it’s because Angel discovered that during fusion, Earl Mi could multitask, quickly extending the shadow and pulling other Ghosteye Witches over.

As such, could lone Ghosteye Witches follow Earl Mi and fuse with other lone or cultivating Ghosteye Witches?

Indeed, it was possible.

Earl Mi led one lone Ghosteye Witch after another with its shadow, eventually orchestrating a large fusion scene with fifteen Ghosteye Witches.

It wasn’t impossible to have more, but there were only these few lone ones, and fusing with other cultivating Ghosteye Witch teams wasn’t impossible, but the cell was too small to squeeze in that many Ghosteye Witches.

However, this was already enough to face the Ghosteye Witches outside; surely it wouldn’t be too difficult since those Ghosteye Witches were crowded together.

Earl Mi once again proved its ability in front of Angel.

Whatever Angel commanded, Earl Mi seemed capable of achieving... In short, omnipotent.

This also showcased how powerful the Demon People from the Panic Realm were. At the same level, it’s estimated that bloodline-side Wizards wouldn’t necessarily be able to win.

Sighing with emotion, Angel left this layer of the prison cell with Earl Mi, Speedy, and Dangross.

The next target was the silver pendant!

...

On Angel’s return journey, the external world light screen, stuck for several minutes, finally resumed movement.

Meanwhile, Angel’s voice came through the Mind Ribbon.

”Just had some issues, can we continue now?”

”What happened? Were you surrounded or did you find a treasure?” The somewhat tactless response undoubtedly came from Dox.

”You’ll know when we meet later.” Angel teased them with anticipation.

”You mean you’ve left that Ghosteye Witch’s boudoir now?” Dox, naturally adept at catching subtleties, said.

”Yes, on the way back.” Angel paused: ”Let’s continue; I’m curious to see if the crown can fuse with the pendant.”

”It can fuse.” This wasn’t a single voice—it included Dox, Vay, and Kaier. Everyone agreed.

Angel: ”???”

Dox replied irritably, ”You think we just stood here waiting for you to come back? The patterns on the light screen are right in front of us; aren’t we capable of simulating a fusion?”

Angel realized then; he hadn’t let the light screen disappear, mainly to convey that ”he hadn’t encountered a problem.” And on the light screen, the crown and pendant were on the same image. With their abilities, attempting a fusion wasn’t difficult.

Though they all said it could fuse, Angel still performed the final step of demonstration on the light screen.

When the crown and pendant combined... there truly was no discordance.

Angel previously thought the pendant was a rectangular shape then ground into an oval, but now realized the oval was perhaps the original form.

Because the oval could fit perfectly into the crown, and from any angle would seem seamless, while rectangular would protrude at the sides, seeming jarring.

”Indeed, it seems like a matching set...” Angel paused as if observing the fused items more closely.

After a moment, Angel continued: ”But what does pairing these items actually mean? It still feels lacking.”

”About this, we discussed it earlier, speculating it’s the appearance of a complete tool split into parts.” Dox said through the Mind Ribbon: ”These two are likely accessories, and there should be other parts. But if true, finding them all could be challenging.”

Angel agreed with this notion, because although the crown and oval pendant together didn’t clash, they didn’t seem useful alone; there must be other components.

Angel: ”No worries, as this isn’t our main objective.”

Dox didn’t continue the topic, instead asked, ”You’re probably close to us now, right? Have you thought about how to acquire the pendant? If you need help, just say the word.”

Angel: ”No need.”

Getting Dox’s help would turn it from thieving a pendant to outright looting and murder.

”Didn’t you want to know why I paused for so long earlier... You’ll find out very soon.”
