Warhammer Divine Throne

PS: The comments section for this chapter is back, please leave your thoughts, it’s really painful to feel like I’m talking to myself.

The knights didn’t just take their escorts, they took away the morale of Mathew Bade’s army.

Immediately after, the appearance of the Green Knight began to incite panic within Mathew Bade’s army. The rogue knights, rebellious peasants, and despicable bandits gathered in his forces could not stop the surge of fear in their hearts upon seeing the Green Knight.

The legend of the Green Knight is a myth well-known to every Brittania person. When this embodiment of chivalric virtue, emanating green aura, appeared before everyone, all the knights of Brittania felt unparalleled exhilaration, while those following Mathew Bade were shrouded in fear.

The green warhorse stepped out from the army formation, and the Green Knight spoke.

”Son of Lorne-Rio Cornwall, you have been shrouded by a lie from the beginning. You once possessed noble virtues and exceptional martial skills, but you did not use them in the right place. You were blinded by hatred and lies, and because of you, countless people have died, many knights have sacrificed their lives to stop you. You cannot be forgiven,” the Green Knight said slowly. ”The only way to redeem you is to destroy you completely. I hereby declare that you are stripped of all titles of the Brittania people and citizenship of the Kingdom. You are no longer a person of this country.”

The Green Knight’s words caused an uproar in Mathew Bade’s army.

Now, whether they were rogue knights, rebellious peasants, or bandits making a living through robbery, they all felt fear and wavering.

Mathew Bade had always claimed to be the son of Duke Lorne, the Kingdom’s regent, and the rightful Duke of Musillon. These were the identities he used to promise humans, which is why people followed him.

But today’s events made them feel afraid and betrayed, because the real Duke of Musillon was Laine, not Mathew Bade, and the Green Knight’s public declaration destroyed the validity of Mathew Bade’s promises.

He lost even the status of a Brittania citizen; how could he become king? How could he fulfill his promises?

Some began to gradually retreat.

Mathew Bade’s army formed quickly, as he easily amassed a large crowd to serve him, because he could make promises, and opportunists flocked to him. In these dark times, there’s never a shortage of those seeking higher status and more power.

However, they come quickly and leave quickly too. When there’s profit, they get as excited as sharks scenting blood, but when they learn that Mathew Bade can’t provide them more, they certainly won’t risk their lives for his revenge.

Mathew Bade sensed all this and felt utterly bewildered. At this moment, the Viper of Musillon’s heart was so consumed by the flames of vengeance that he was on the verge of losing his sanity.

He couldn’t understand why this country still stood, why this country’s hypocritical chivalry and the hypocritical faith of that Elf God continued, and how they could make so many knights fight and die for them.

The flames of anger burned in his heart, and Mathew Bade knew he must do something, or else his army was on the brink of collapse. The Viper of Musillon drew his Viper Sword from his waist.

”Ha! Very well!” Mathew Bade laughed wildly, saying in a sharp voice, ”It seems we have reached a consensus on this issue, that one of us must die, be it us falling or you becoming my servant.”

”Send out your champion!!” Mathew Bade turned his gaze towards the knightly army of Brittania, his eyes filled with an inexplicable emotion. The Viper of Musillon knew that forcing a battle with unsteady morale was unfavorable to him, but it didn’t matter, because he believed that the Brittania people wouldn’t want to fight this war either. In the spirit of chivalry, there’s a rule that a knight must accept a duel (with the condition of equal status and appropriate timing).

He raised the Viper Sword in his hand, pointing directly at the knightly army: ”I demand a champion duel! Send forth your champion! Engage me in a true champion’s duel! Only the victor deserves to possess this country!”

Mathew Bade’s arrogant challenge provoked dissatisfaction among many knights, but most could only glare angrily even in the face of such provocation, for this Viper had already completed over thirty duels on his way to Kulona, defeating over thirty Kingdom Knights, Expedition Knights, and even Holy Grail Knights.

Having fully fused with the power of the Black Chalice Knight, Mathew Bade now steadies himself at Holy Sanctuary Middle Tier strength, making him no longer a challenger to be taken lightly. At this time, stepping up for a champion duel with Mathew Bade would undoubtedly be courting humiliation and death.

All eyes were focused on the center of the army formation.

In this situation, only four people represented Brittania in battle.

Laine Macado, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy.

Knight King Richard.

The direct descendant of the First Knight King Arthur, the esteemed Red Dragon Duke Bohemond.
