The Wizard Has A Biochip

When I returned to the center of the battlefield, the first thing I felt was Luize’s presence.

It was like standing before a living mountain.

The pressure emanating from that man wasn’t merely a psychological impression.

In my previous life, on Earth, saying that someone possessed an ”imposing aura” would have been nothing more than a metaphor. Perhaps it would be used to describe aura formation championship competitors making some ridiculous pose while the audience shouted six seven.

Here, however, it was different.

And I could feel all of it.

My skin tingled.

My body seemed to be pressed down by an invisible force.

Each breath required a little more effort.

— Biochip.

[Beep!]

— Show me Luize’s status.

[Beep!]

[STATUS]

[”Name: Luize”]

[”Level: Acolyte III — Consolidated”]

[”Gender: Male”]

[PHYSICAL STATUS]

[”Strength: 17”]

[”Agility: 8”]

[”Vigor: 10”]

[”Mana: 16”]

Seventeen points of strength...

I looked at that man again.

That wasn’t simply a difference of a few points.

It was an absurd difference.

His mana was also extremely powerful.

The combined pressure of the two made the environment around me seem unstable.

I frowned.

I need to increase my mana.

That was one of my greatest weaknesses at that moment.

My body was still far inferior to that of even the weakest acolytes specialized in body enhancement.

If I possessed strength and mana similar to theirs, I could integrate my magical energy into my body and form a kind of protective field.

In that case, facing someone more powerful wouldn’t be so suffocating.

When he looked at me...

He began to laugh.

— Hahahaha!

His voice echoed across the field.

— George! You really have courage!

He spread his arms.

— You already know you’re going to be brutally tortured today and still show up here to face me? Hahaha! I like that!

I narrowed my eyes.

Although my body was suffering from the absurd difference in strength, I calmly replied.

— It’s still too early to decide who will be the winner.

I slightly tilted my head.

— I hope Master Nople will be kind to me afterward.

Luize laughed even harder.

— Hahaha!

— But these guys asked me to break your arms and legs and crush half your bones.

He then smiled in a frighteningly friendly manner.

— Despite that, I like you, kid.

This guy really could say frightening things in an affectionate tone.

— To tell you the truth, I didn’t expect you to make Werk Treuz, that walking corpse, faint from lack of mana.

— It was very entertaining to watch.

— So, since I’m in a good mood today, I’ll break your ribs and tear off one of your legs.

— Consider that a welcome gift from our training ground!

— Ugh...

I rolled my eyes.

Broken ribs and a torn-off leg weren’t exactly permanent injuries in this world. With the proper magic and potions, they could be treated.

But that didn’t mean the process would be pleasant.

And Luize was talking about it as if he were offering me a little souvenir.

— Hey!

Luize turned toward the side of the field.

— Are you guys ready?

He rubbed his palms together.

Clearly, that man had little patience.

— How long do you want me to wait?

Outside the arena, the crowd was in complete chaos.

— Five hundred and seventy magical crystals! I bet on Luize!

— Nine hundred and thirty! I also bet on Luize!

— One thousand five hundred and thirty crystals on Luize’s victory!

.

.

.

The amounts continued to increase.

I looked at the large illuminated stone board that had been erected beside the field.

The numbers were being continuously updated.

[Luize: 94,080 magical crystals.]

[George: 30,300 magical crystals.]

Actually, those thirty thousand included my own bet.

If it weren’t for that, probably no one would have bet on my side.

The odds were also completely different from yesterday’s.

Nople had taken control of the betting and established a four-to-one ratio.

If I lost...

Besides getting beaten by Luize, I could end up with a huge debt.

For someone without sufficient resources, that meant working at the training ground until everything was paid off.

But apparently, for those people, money was only part of the fun.

They wanted to see me pushed to my limits.

Gradually, the shouting began to die down.

Nople stood up, apparently ready to announce the start.

Then a deep voice emerged from the middle of the crowd.

— Three thousand magical crystals. I bet on George.

Silence.

I turned my head.

Werk Treuz was there.

The same Werk Treuz who had spent a good part of the previous battle cursing me while I made him run around in circles.

He had a gloomy expression.

But he had placed three thousand magical crystals on my side.

The entire crowd seemed to have stopped breathing.

— Werk Treuz?!

— It’s him!

— He bet on George?!

— How?!

I couldn’t help but smile.

Before anyone could recover from the shock, another voice emerged.

— I also bet on George!

This time it was five thousand and seventy magical crystals!

I immediately recognized it.

Rustil.

Outside, Rustil simply crossed his arms.

He looked determined.

The crowd erupted into an uproar once again.

Nople, on the other hand, looked as though he had aged several years in just a few seconds.

He looked at Werk.

Then at Rustil.

Then at the piles of magical crystals.

His expression became strange.

He was probably wondering exactly when that bet had slipped out of his control.

Nople took a deep breath.

Then raised his voice.

— The bet is decided!

— Therefore... I announce that the battle begins now!

I barely had time to breathe.

Luize extended one arm and pulled out the enormous axe strapped to his back.

Then the entire environment began to vibrate.

Buzz...

Tremor...

The air around him rippled as if it were being deformed by an invisible force.

The ground beneath his feet began to crack, while countless vibrations traveled through his body.

I threw the two Spiritual Cores onto the ground.

The Earth-element particles immediately began to gather.

The hardened soil of the field moved like water, rising around the cores and rapidly forming the gigantic body of the Hunter Knight Golem mounted on the Giant King Shark.

As soon as part of its back became solid enough, I quickly climbed on.

— Sink!

The Golem obeyed.

Its body began to disappear into the ground.

But Luize was already coming.

— HAAAAAAAAAA!

His roar tore across the field.

The Golem hadn’t completely disappeared yet when Luize arrived.

A violent gust struck my face.

Then I saw the axe.

Covered in bluish arcs of tremor energy, it descended with monstrous force.

— Damn it!

I immediately ordered the Golem to envelop me inside the Shark’s body.

The Shark’s gigantic tail collided with the axe.

POW!

A deafening explosion occurred.

Earth flew in all directions.

At the same time, I felt my body being violently shaken.

BOOOOM!

The Golem sank into the ground.

But not before a huge portion of its body was destroyed by the blow.

I barely managed to escape.

However, Luize wasn’t finished.

He crouched down and jumped.

— HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

In the air, Luize raised the axe above his head and violently brought it down toward the spot where I had disappeared.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The impact was brutal.

The earth exploded.

A gigantic crater appeared in the field, while the vibration spread deep into the ground.

The sand even melted and took on a glass-like appearance.

Even hidden beneath the surface, I felt the impact travel through the Golem’s body.

My chest tightened.

— Cough...!

Blood escaped from my mouth.

[Beep!]

[Alert!]

[Host’s physical integrity compromised.]

[Vitality significantly reduced.]

I gritted my teeth.

The earth had absorbed most of the force, but even so, I had lost an absurd amount of vitality.

This guy is a monster.

If I had taken that blow directly...

I probably would have died.

Above the ground, the crowd erupted in comments.

A Level 2 Acolyte fighting a Consolidated Level 3 Acolyte.

It seemed like a joke.

I took out a potion and quickly drank it.

The sensation of warmth began to spread throughout my body.

While treating my injuries, my expression became increasingly serious.

Luize had managed to surprise me.

But I had also prepared something for him.

I ran my hand over my storage belt.

I took out a new core.

It was the result of an entire night of work in the experiment room.

A new Golem.

I threw it onto the ground.

The magical particles began to gather.

At the same time, I ordered the Shark to begin rising.

Luize was waiting.

As soon as the Shark began to emerge, I noticed something strange on his feet.

Metal boots.

The Biochip immediately analyzed the equipment.

Those boots were capable of producing a kind of magical interference in the ground, hardening the earth beneath his feet.

In other words...

He had found a way to block my underground attacks.

Luize crossed his legs and sat down, displaying an arrogant smile.

— Boy! From now on, any attack coming from underground will be useless against me!

— If you want to fight me, come out! I can wait all day!

— I don’t believe your Golem can keep you hidden down there for very long!

The Shark finally broke through the surface.

Earth slid down its enormous body as it slowly emerged onto the field.

I was sitting on its back.

Luize immediately stood up.

— Good boy! So you know what you need to do!

He pulled out his axe.

The tremor energy once again enveloped his body.

— Today, your master Luize will teach you what a true battle is!

He charged forward.

BOOM!

The ground exploded beneath his feet.

I stared at him.

This time, there was no fear on my face.

— Everyone wanted to know what my trump card was?

— Fine.

— I will show you.

— Show yourself, my furious fighter!

The next instant...

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The entire ground of the battlefield exploded.
