The Wizard Has A Biochip

Finally, when the sky began to darken and the last traces of light disappeared behind the mountains, I managed to return safely to my residence in the Tower of Kar-Dur, located at the entrance to the Subterranean World.

As soon as I entered the room, I closed the door behind me and turned the key.

I looked at the door for a few seconds before carefully checking the surroundings.

Only then did I breathe a sigh of relief.

I was exhausted, but my curiosity and anticipation were far greater than my fatigue.

I sat down at the small wooden table and carefully took several items out of the storage belt.

These were the items I had obtained that day.

I placed everything on the table and carefully arranged the objects.

When I finished, I spent a few seconds simply looking at that small collection of treasures.

Mana potions, a Spiritual Core, a solar rune.

It was practically a small fortune.

I rubbed my hands together and couldn’t stop a smile from appearing on my face.

I licked my lips, feeling an excitement that was difficult to control.

After so many problems, I was finally beginning to reap the rewards.

My eyes immediately fell upon the ten small glass bottles of mana potions lined up on the left.

And they weren’t ordinary potions.

From what I had learned, those were high-quality products mainly intended for the elites of the Tower of Kar-Dur and the mage families that controlled that region.

Each one was approximately twenty percent more efficient than the potions normally found outside.

The price was also absurd.

A single bottle could cost around twenty thousand magical crystals.

Ten bottles...

Two hundred thousand magical crystals.

If I had tried to buy those normally, I probably would have felt my heart bleed.

Fortunately, thanks to today’s events, I hadn’t needed to spend all my resources.

I still had approximately 30,000 magical crystals.

That meant that, in addition to these potions, I still had a considerable reserve.

I picked up one of the bottles and held it up against the lamplight.

The liquid inside reflected a soft red glow.

These potions would probably be enough to help me break through the barrier between the second and third levels of an acolyte.

I stared at the bottles for a few seconds, imagining how much my strength would increase.

But then I forced my attention toward the next item.

I still had some very interesting things to analyze.

I picked up a golden crystal.

The moment I placed it on the palm of my hand, small arcs of light began to travel across its surface.

I remained silent.

It was different from the Spiritual Cores I had seen before.

It seemed almost alive.

The crystal slowly absorbed the luminous energy scattered throughout the surroundings. Small strands of light were drawn toward its surface and disappeared inside it.

I brought the crystal closer to my eyes.

This is the Spiritual Core of a Light Giant at the Pseudo-Mage level.

I needed to be careful with this object.

From what I knew, Light Giants were quite a peculiar existence.

In terms of classification, they should be considered elemental creatures.

However, their lineage was extremely unusual.

According to the records I had read, in ancient times, a Great Mage, someone who had already reached at least the third level of an official mage, had conducted dangerous experiments with bloodlines.

He had attempted to combine his own bloodline with that of wind elementals.

The original goal was to create larger and more powerful descendants.

And, somehow, it worked.

The result was a new species.

The Light Giants.

They possessed the bloodline of a mage, but the body of an elemental.

A rather strange combination.

However, there was an irony to all of this.

They didn’t seem to like their creators very much.

They preferred to live among the wild elementals in the free world, which were simple and docile creatures.

Many eventually escaped the control of that Great Mage and settled in the Mountains of the Sun, in the center of the Mage Continent.

Over time, they formed their own kingdom.

The Kingdom of Light.

I ran my thumb over the golden surface of the crystal.

Those giants also possessed an extraordinary ability.

After constructing a gigantic Sun Altar, they were capable of summoning countless creatures of the light element from the Elemental World.

Because of this, the Kingdom of Light had become a powerful medium-sized clan.

And then there was the Lumentriz Association.

As far as I knew, the Kingdom of Light had a magical contract with the association.

No clan in the central region of the Mage Continent could deliberately hunt Light Giants to obtain their Spiritual Cores.

Naturally...

That didn’t mean no one did it.

Magical contracts had never been able to completely eliminate black markets.

Hunters continued to exist.

And rare resources like this were still secretly traded.

The Pseudo-Mage-level Earth-element Spiritual Core I had obtained earlier could cost many magical crystals.

This one?

Thirty thousand.

The difference was enormous.

But I understood the reason.

It was simply rare.

Besides, I already possessed an Earth Golem.

The Earth Golem had provided me with an extremely useful ability: underground movement.

So...

Why not try to create something different?

A Light Golem.

Maybe it could fly.

My eyes lit up.

Ever since I had flown on that Wind Griffin, I had discovered something I had never imagined I would enjoy so much.

Flying on a magic ring was completely different from flying in a balloon.

My imagination began to run wild.

Aerial mobility, Light attacks, Possibly greater speed.

But I quickly stopped dreaming.

The Spiritual Core alone would not be enough.

I would need to use the Biochip to carefully analyze its structure, calculate the ideal distribution of elemental particles, and find a way to maximize its efficiency.

I would also need to use suitable magical formations.

I carefully stored the Spiritual Core.

First, I would let the Biochip finish the calculations.

Then my eyes moved to the third object.

The Sun Rune.

I picked it up delicately.

It was a powerful light-element treasure produced from a sanctified altar.

Unfortunately, there was an important difference.

It was a magical item, not a Spiritual Core.

Therefore, using it to create a Light Golem would be extremely difficult.

But that didn’t mean it was useless.

Quite the contrary.

I had been looking for something exactly like this.

It was the perfect gem for my future staff...

If I used that Sun Rune as the focusing gem of my future magical staff, it could considerably accelerate the absorption of the light element.

Besides, it could strengthen the light spells I cast.

This meant that, even if it couldn’t be used to create a Golem, it could still significantly increase my combat strength.

Now I had managed to find this material and also possessed Mithril.

Only one thing was missing.

The staff’s body itself.

And that was where the problem lay.

I wanted something truly exceptional.

A structure made of Shining Light Crystal would be the most inferior option.

A Legendary Light Wood would be much better.

But there was an even more absurd option.

The backbone of a high-level magical creature belonging to the light element.

That would be the perfect material.

The problem?

Where the hell would I find such a creature?

I let out a sigh.

That’s a problem for another day...

I had been thinking about this for some time.

Should I wait until I found the perfect material?

Or should I immediately look for a Legendary Light Wood and build my staff with it?

No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t come to an answer.

In the end, I simply smiled bitterly.

I stored the Sun Rune.

Then, one by one, I placed all my things back inside the storage belt.

The ten Mana Potions were the last.

I stared at them for a few more seconds.

I really wanted to try one.

My body practically begged me to start absorbing that energy.

But no.

Not yet.

I had something much more important to do at that moment.

My expression became serious.

Tomorrow I would face another battle.

And that bet wouldn’t be a simple game like today’s.
