The Versatile Master Artist

Sure, here’s the translation of the provided text:

A moment of silence in the Zoom chat room.

Jean Arnou is already the pinnacle that artists of this era can aspire to, an insurmountable monument, a presence akin to belief in the hearts of illustrators.

Things he couldn’t achieve.

Then it can be deemed fundamentally impossible.

Whether it’s an entirely inaccessible forbidden zone of artistry or a peak unattainable by technique.

In essence, the outcome is all the same.

”So, I suggest you find another entry point. I’ve marked some other potentially noteworthy details in the files from the past. Now that Amy has been proven to be a dead-end, perhaps seeking alternatives is a more sensible decision.”

Dr. Jin’s tone was solemn.

Gu Weijing continued to stare at the photo in his hand, silent.

No other documents hold as much impact as this simple photo in his hand.

He imagines a hotel in Milan thirty years ago, with a person and a cat frolicking.

Imagining how the boy in the photo film was emotionally opened up by a small kitten.

And the kind of mood the kitten had while spending time with her young master.

”Amy.”

He knows.

If Old Wu’s Ah Wang were to get lost chasing butterflies on the street, Gu Weijing would be sad. However, Ah Wang is not irreplaceable to him, just as it isn’t to its owner, Old Wu.

Why is this cat so special?

Does she know the uniqueness of the boy beside her? Does she know she’s perhaps the soul who has delved deepest into Tony’s heart in this world?

In the mind of this Scottish Fold——

The boy on the swimming ring is her groomer, her swimming buddy, her friend growing up together.

Or just an ordinary bipedal ape feeding her daily?

And the ultimate question that’s elusive and touches the soul, strange because the emotional carrier is a cat—”Does she love Tony?”

Gu Weijing stared at the photo in his hands, his brows slowly furrowing.

He does indeed possess the ”Animal Mind Reading Technique” given by the system, with abilities beyond the common person’s in understanding pets’ emotions.

But even renowned psychologist Dr. Jin Anqing would candidly admit he possesses nothing akin to ”Hypnotic Sorcery.”

The ”Animal Mind Reading Technique” is merely an exaggerated rhetorical device in publications.

What he can grasp is more about judging whether a cat or pet dog is hungry or in heat, feeling pain or injury based on external observations.

Judging a pet’s mood is also a rather general concept.

Relying on an unclear and slightly overexposed old photo to determine whether a cat loves her master is too difficult.

There is also a deeper issue.

The notion of love is inherently vague, deeply profound and heavy.

For humans, what ”love” essentially is remains a philosophical question that can fuel endless discussion spanning three centuries.

For a cat... even though countless fairy tales, animal novels, and cartoons attribute nearly human-like emotions to cats.

Whether they truly have feelings akin to love remains a question worth pondering deeply.

Considering that cats’ memories aren’t long, with some breeds able to forget their owners in two or three days in a new environment, the possibility of a negative answer is greater.

”Lady Cat?”

”I want to give it a try. Sorry, Doctor, I still feel Amy is the best subject I can seek.”

When the silence was long enough that Dr. Jin Anqing started doubting whether his network had disconnected.

Only then did Gu Weijing finally speak.

He knew his strengths.

From these materials viewed, without a doubt, Amy is the most penetrating ”keyword” to unlock Tony’s heart.

It would be hard to find a better grip.

Moreover, painting cats might now be his most adept subject.

Gu Weijing greatly respected, even somewhat idolized, the achievements and accomplishments of Master Jean Arnou.

But he also had conditions that Jean Arnou did not.

If he didn’t attempt it, it would indeed be a regret.

”I understand. Every painter thinks they’re the most unique one, just like when I was on the football team, every boy stubbornly believed the prettiest cheerleader would like him.”

Dr. Jin Anqing smiled widely: ”It’s okay, if you want to try, go ahead, maybe... Painting Knife Painting could really bring a bit of surprise to our Tony.”

”Well, besides this information, what do you need my cooperation with?” he asked.

”I want some psychological state assessments from Tony’s childhood, oh, and photos, especially of Amy’s life, the more the better.” Gu Weijing made his request.

”Assessment forms and pet cat photos... no problem. Tony has very comprehensive professional medical records, preserved well from the summer of 1986 when he was first diagnosed with autism to today. The early paper documents have been scanned into electronic versions. You can have as many as you need, leave an email, and I’ll send them over shortly.”

”Photos aren’t a problem either, I’ll convey your request to Master Jean Arnou, shouldn’t be difficult.”

Mr. Tree Sloth sent a Google email address in the Zoom chat box.
