The Quest for Immortality

”If this continues, the ranking will drop even further, we need to think of something...”

Mo Hua pondered for a moment and then opened the roster for the Sword Discussion Conference, discovering that in the next dozens of sword discussion sessions, Taixu Gate’s biggest opponent in the Xuan Character Bureau was actually...

The Sever Gold Sect.

Both the Gui Water Sect and the Sever Gold Sect are among the newly risen Eight Great Gates.

So, they can also be considered as the ”goalkeeper” of the Eight Great Gates.

It’s normal for them to encounter the Xuan Character Bureau frequently.

From now on, every disciple of the Taixu Gate, in at least one-third of the numerous Xuan Character sword discussions, would be facing the Sever Gold Sect.

Mo Hua’s eyes showed contemplation.

The Sever Gold Sect was indeed an old rival...

When they first entered the Demon Hunting Mountain, Mo Hua and his junior brothers first clashed with the disciples of the Sever Gold Sect.

During this period, they exchanged many blows.

The various grievances were too complex to explain in a short time.

Mo Hua’s eyes brightened slightly.

But since it’s the Sever Gold Sect, it will be much easier to handle.

His previously designed ”Gold-Cutting Armor” can be used again.

And there’s more.

Mo Hua now carries two of the Sever Gold Sect’s core legacies.

The Sever Gold Sword Control Jue and the Gold-Cutting Sword Formation, all had their ”Sword Dao Laws” extracted and integrated into his Divine Thought transformation into a sword.

Although in reality, his Sever Gold Sword Qi isn’t worth mentioning,

Within the realm of Divine Thought, especially his understanding of the Sever Gold Sword Laws, is profoundly deep.

In other words, the core legacy of the Sever Gold Sect, at least the part up to Foundation Establishment, is all in Mo Hua’s hands.

By using these legacies to improve the ”Gold-Cutting Armor”, and crafting a ”Sever Gold Sword”, his chances against the Sever Gold Sect disciples would increase by at least twenty percent.

With the core legacy being grasped by him, a Formation Master, the Sever Gold Sect hardly stands a chance.

”No wonder they say, once a sect’s legacy is leaked, it will cause endless trouble...”

Mo Hua nodded in acknowledgment.

Now he himself is the ”bane” of the Sever Gold Sect.

Afterwards, Mo Hua began to iterate on the ”Sever Gold Sword” and craft the ”Breaking Gold Sword”, specifically targeting the Sever Gold Sect.

But after planning for a moment, Mo Hua couldn’t help but think of a person.

He flipped through the Sword Discussion list several times and finally found a name—

Song Jian.

Since the upheaval in the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons, the Sever Gold Sect has been in turmoil, with internal power shifts, the downfall of the Jin family, the rise of the Song family, and subsequent issues, Mo Hua was too busy to keep in touch with Song Jian.

But now with the Sword Discussion Conference encountering the Sever Gold Sect again...

Mo Hua thought it over and sent a message to Song Jian.

They had a specially made Letter Token between the two of them.

Mo Hua had acquired it through Gu Changhuai’s channels, from the Taoist Court’s warehouse.

After obtaining it, Mo Hua, still uneasy, ”modified” the Magnetic Patterns himself, specifically for secure communication.

In between the Xuan Character sword discussions, there is usually a day left for disciples to rest and prepare for the battle.

Mo Hua happened to have a day free.

The next day, Mo Hua went to the Refining Demon Mountain, to a secluded little forest.

This was the agreed meeting place.

Mo Hua squatted in a tree, bored, waiting for a long time until Song Jian finally arrived late, entered the forest, and looked around like a thief.

Mo Hua whistled.

Song Jian looked up, saw it was Mo Hua, and then breathed a sigh of relief, using his movement technique, within a few moments, he leaped onto a tree branch and sat opposite Mo Hua.

”What do you want from me?”

Song Jian asked.

After several years, Song Jian had grown taller, his face paler, but his complexion was better.

Having experienced the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons incident, he had learned about the world’s dangers and the unfathomable nature of people, making his demeanor much more composed.

Yet in front of Mo Hua, he couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy.

After all, Mo Hua’s actions in the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons had left a deep impact on him, which he couldn’t forget to this day.

”Are you about to participate in the sword discussion?” Mo Hua didn’t mince words, getting straight to the point.

”Yes...” Song Jian nodded lightly.

”I’ll help you with something,” Mo Hua said, ”Do you have any enemies or competitors in your sect? Tell me who they are, and I’ll help you ’suppress’ them a bit.”

”You’ll help me?” Song Jian was stunned.

”What else?” Mo Hua looked as if it was only natural.

Song Jian frowned, ”Is there... a catch?”

In any mind game, he really couldn’t compete with Mo Hua.

Since that’s the case, it would be better to be honest and ask clearly.

Mo Hua nodded, ”There’s a small request... Tell me the detailed information about your opponents, what cultivation techniques they practice, what sword moves they excel at, what habits they have, any trump cards they hold...”

Song Jian had never seen someone so brazenly shameless, actually asking him to ”betray” his sect in such a bold manner.

”This doesn’t seem right...” Song Jian replied tactfully.

”What’s not right about it,” Mo Hua said, ”The Sword Discussion Conference isn’t just about the sword discussions on stage, there’s also information gathering off stage.”

”Intelligence gathering is also a form of warfare.”

”Hasn’t your Sever Gold Sect been trying to gather information about our Taixu Gate disciples as well?”

Song Jian nodded silently.

This was indeed the truth, and he couldn’t refute it.

Before the sword discussions, they would definitely gather information on each other, and the Sever Gold Sect’s methods could be even more ”underhanded” than Mo Hua’s.

”Exactly,” Mo Hua continued, ”Actually, I already have ways to target your Sever Gold Sect, this information is just icing on the cake...”

This was also true.

The Sever Gold Sect’s core sword formation, leaked into the hands of Mo Hua, this formation demon, was already a huge stroke of bad luck.

He gathered this information just to ensure foolproof success.

It would be great to obtain it, but even without it, it doesn’t really matter.

It would just be slightly harder to beat, that’s all.

Song Jian had suffered too many losses from Mo Hua, knew how formidable Mo Hua was, and didn’t doubt his capabilities.
