The Quest for Immortality

This Heavenly Secret Treasure is called the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument.

It is also the ”legacy” of the ancestor of Mount of Tao.

This ”Heaven Instrument” is usually sealed, requiring the gathering of sects from the Four Sects and Eight Gates Twelve Streams, each holding the sect’s Jade Token, to unlock it.

Once unlocked, the names and teams of disciples from various sects participating in the Sword Discussion are written on bamboo sticks and placed into the Heaven Instrument.

The Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument then begins to operate by itself, arranging the match order for the Sword Discussion Conference according to the established rules of sword discussions.

This method can prevent some from tampering and ensure fairness and justice.

At the same time, it also isolates any interference, alteration, and foresight based on Heavenly Mechanism Causality predictions.

The Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument, operating according to laws, contains a compass track that alternates and rotates continuously, intricate and mysterious.

There is a profound aesthetic of the ”Law of Causality.”

Mo Hua’s spirit was revitalized, and he couldn’t help but stare at the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument.

Unfortunately, his level in Heavenly Secret was still too low, so he couldn’t discern anything.

Of course, it’s impossible for the ancestor’s possessions from Mount of Tao to let him really see any clues.

An hour later, the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument stopped spinning.

The simulation was completed.

The primary stage of the Sword Discussion, categorized as ”Yellow” in ”Heavenly Secret Earthly profound Yellow,” was thus confirmed.

The elders from each sect recorded the match lists into the Jade Slips and then stepped down.

The morning ceremony for the swords and the draw ritual was concluded.

The formal Sword Discussion would commence in the afternoon.

During the next four-hour interval, the elders from Mount of Tao will arrange match sequences and venues for the Sword Discussion according to the draw list derived from the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument simulation.

Elder Xun Zixian also stepped down, returning to the disciples of Taixu Gate, transmitting to everyone:

”The Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument has completed the list simulation.”

”I have transmitted the list into the Taixu Token; you should check it yourselves and ensure the match sequence is correct.”

Xun Zixian paused before continuing:

”In a few hours, the formal Sword Discussion will begin. Do your best, whether win or lose, it is all for Taixu Gate. You will make the sect proud...”

Elder Xun Zixian is a Formation Master, always rigorous and steady, not one for overly sentimental speech.

It was remarkable for him to say this much.

The disciples were somewhat moved.

Of course, sentiment is sentiment, yet their morale was still somewhat low.

Xun Zixian sighed softly, glancing at Mo Hua.

With just a look, Mo Hua understood Elder Zixian’s intention, nodded immediately and stepped forward, addressing the group of disciples:

”In the upcoming Sword Discussion, don’t overthink. Just get up there and do it. Winning is a huge win, losing is no loss!”

The disciples were momentarily stunned, their eyes ablaze with fighting spirit.

Junior Brother had already laid out the tactics clearly—all they had to do was to go up and fight a match; nothing else needed consideration.

If they didn’t believe in themselves, could they at least not believe in Junior Brother?

As long as they win a round, it’s an incredible victory, and losing is nothing to be ashamed of.

”Yes! Junior Brother!”

The disciples echoed in unison, their voices loud and their morale greatly boosted.

Mo Hua nodded in satisfaction.

Xun Zixian looked at Mo Hua, slightly dazed, and then smiled, shaking his head.

Following this, there was a four-hour period for preparation.

Disciples either meditated, reviewed the list, or discussed tactics, resting when tired, and eating a Fasting Pill when hungry.

With the Sword Discussion approaching, they had no mind for fine food.

Mo Hua, having spare time, sat nearby, munching on jerky while reviewing the Sword Discussion list simulated by the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument.

From examining it, he perceived some issues.

The list wasn’t truly ”fair.” .

The Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument wasn’t purely ”random”; it used causality simulations to select the real ”strong fighters.”

It also worked to ensure these strong fighters could make it to the end of the Sword Discussion.

Thus, it wouldn’t pit the Four Great Sects and Eight Great Gates’ prodigies against each other in deadly combat during the ”Yellow” preliminary stage.

In the Yellow stage, disciples from the Four Great Sects, Eight Great Gates, and even Twelve Streams mostly faced disciples from Qian Learning Hundred Gates.

The probability of ”seed-level” prodigies confronting each other was minimal.

Even when prodigies faced off, it made no difference.

The ”Yellow” stage had a high margin for error, losing one or two rounds wouldn’t affect advancement.

Consequently, the Taixu Gate wasn’t too difficult to contend with.

But for ordinary Qian Learning Hundred Gates’ disciples, advancing was very challenging.

This was a form of unfairness.

However, from a certain perspective, selecting the strongest cultivators, avoiding teams advancing through luck or ”luckily advancing,” was another type of fairness based on ”strength.”

”Yet, using Heavenly Secret Calculation to determine strength and control probability...the ancestor of Mount of Tao was indeed imaginative...”

Mo Hua murmured inwardly.

Mo Hua checked his match sequence and found his sequence scheduled very late, not having his first match until the day after tomorrow.

Perhaps the Dao Discussion Heaven Instrument predicted his causality, knowing he was a ”hidden master,” and intelligently scheduled his match later...

Mo Hua speculated internally, nodding in agreement.

Masters always make their appearance last.

This made sense.

Moreover, his opponents were mostly disciples from Qian Learning Hundred Gates, seemingly posing little threat.

This alleviated any tension.

”Watching today, competing the day after tomorrow...”

Mo Hua simply took out all the jerky he brought and ate it.

After feasting, he meditated and rested, waiting to watch the performance of his Junior Brothers.
