The Quest for Immortality

And then...

I was wrong, terribly wrong.

A trace of helpless bitterness surfaced in the old man’s heart.

He forced himself to suppress all past memories and thoughts, looking deeply at Mo Hua with a faint sense of pressure:

”Inside the Taixu Gate, a gag order has been issued. Where did you learn the name of this sword technique?”

Mo Hua felt a bit guilty, ”I... overheard it from an Elder...”

”Why do you want to learn this sword technique?”

”Because... it sounds very powerful...” Mo Hua whispered.

And indeed, it is powerful.

The long-bearded elder listened to his somewhat naive response and could not help but pause, no longer tangled in whether Mo Hua had ulterior motives.

But he still coldly refused:

”Other sword techniques from the Taixu Gate, including parts from the Tai’a and Chongxu factions, if you want to learn, I can teach you. But this particular sword technique is an exception; you cannot learn it.”

”Is it because it’s too dangerous?” Mo Hua asked.

The long-bearded elder’s eyelids twitched, ”You already know?”

”Yes,” Mo Hua nodded, ”I heard that this sword technique primarily cultivates sword intent, contending with Divine Sense, using Divine Soul to kill, thus having great lethality and also immense risk. If you’re not careful, you could possibly damage your Divine Soul, and it could be impossible to recover.”

Even the matter of the Divine Soul is known...

The long-bearded elder’s gaze slightly condensed.

He would have to check later to see which Taixu Gate Elder was so loose-tongued, telling everything to the disciples.

”You know all this, and you still dare to learn?” The long-bearded elder asked.

”Precisely because I know, that’s why I want to learn!” Mo Hua replied matter-of-factly, ”Senior, you should have seen, my Spiritual Root is not good, and coupled with being innately weak, whether it’s Blood Qi or Spiritual Power, I’m far behind others.”

”But such is the Heavenly Dao, what is lacking also has its benefits. My Blood Qi and Spiritual Power are lacking, but I have one thing...”

Mo Hua’s expression was humble, with a hint of pride, ”My Divine Sense is strong!”

”Because my Divine Sense is strong, that’s why I thought of cultivating the Divine Thought Sword Skill!”

The long-bearded elder’s gaze slightly condensed.

Playing to one’s strengths and avoiding one’s weaknesses, in this way, it does make sense.

However, for a Foundation Building Cultivator, no matter how strong the Divine Sense, how strong can it actually be...

The long-bearded elder was indifferent, released his Divine Sense to perceive the aura of Mo Hua’s Divine Thought, suddenly his gaze trembled, after a moment he asked slowly:

”Your Divine Sense, what realm is it?”

”Peak of Nineteen Patterns.” Mo Hua replied.

For a moment, the long-bearded elder thought he misheard, he furrowed his brows, and said: ”Release your Divine Sense fully.”

Mo Hua nodded and did so without any concealment, releasing the Peak of Nineteen-Pattern Divine Sense externally.

The long-bearded elder sensed this Divine Sense near the limits of Foundation Establishment, and his gaze gradually became sharp.

Before, he hadn’t scrutinized, only vaguely feeling that Mo Hua’s Divine Sense was somewhat special.

But no matter how special, it’s merely a Foundation Establishment junior disciple.

He was the Heaven Void Ancestor, having seen great winds and waves, he’s seen everything in his lifetime.

But this...

Mid-stage Foundation Establishment Cultivation, Nineteen-Pattern Peak Divine Sense?

That, he had truly never seen before...

The long-bearded elder was momentarily incredulous.

”You...”

Mo Hua then slightly revealed his bottom line, ”Ancestor, I am on the path of Divine Sense Proving the Dao.”

”Divine Sense Proving the Dao...”

The long-bearded elder listened to this somewhat distant, rarely mentioned path, and his expression was somewhat wistful.

No wonder...

But he pondered for a moment, then still shook his head, ”Divine Thought into sword is a sword technique, which is different from simple Divine Sense Proving the Dao. You lack understanding in the Sword Dao, I still can’t teach you. Even if I did, you wouldn’t be able to learn it.”

Mo Hua immediately said, ”I have learned it!”

”Learned it?” The long-bearded elder was surprised.

Mo Hua was just about to say he had already learned the Transforming Sword Skill and the Soul-Shocking Sword but suddenly remembered that the Evil Embryo was residing within him, his Divine Soul was sealed, Soul-Shocking Sword could not be used, and Transforming Sword Skill couldn’t be displayed outside.

If he said he learned it but couldn’t use it, he would certainly be regarded as a fraud.

What’s more, his ”Divine Thought into sword” was self-taught, which meant ”stealing from the master,” and he wasn’t sure if it might offend this senior’s taboo.

So Mo Hua vaguely said, ”I mean... I can definitely learn it!”

The long-bearded elder looked deeply at Mo Hua, then slightly shook his head, ”This sword technique is not child’s play.”

”Disciple understands.”

”If there’s an error in cultivation, at best the Divine Thought is damaged, at worst the Sea of Consciousness shatters.”

”It doesn’t matter.”

”In a confrontation, a slight mistake could shatter one’s Life Soul, or even get polluted by an Evil Spirit...”

”I’m not afraid.”

...

No matter what the long-bearded elder said, Mo Hua was resolute, determined to learn.

The long-bearded elder did not blame Mo Hua, on the contrary, he felt a bit wistful.

Back then, Xuan Er had the same ”stubborn” attitude, pleading with him to teach the Divine Thought into sword, and no matter how much he persuaded, it was of no use.

The elder’s heart softened a bit.

Perhaps... he should just teach him?

But this child’s Sword Dao foundation was too poor, if taught, how could he learn? Could he rely solely on Divine Sense Proving the Dao to comprehend the sword technique?

At this thought, a sudden realization dawned within the elder’s mind.

Divine Sense Proving the Dao!

Divine Sense!

Taixu Mind Transforming Sword True Jue encompasses two paths, one is the Dao of Divine Thought, the other the Dao of Swordsmanship.

Because cultivators of Divine Sense Proving the Dao were rare, almost all within Taixu Gate had previously practiced this Divine Thought Sword Technique purely as a ”sword technique.”

Thus neglecting the ”Divine Thought” aspect in this sword technique.

Divine Thought into sword indeed cultivates sword intent, but should not merely reduce Divine Thought to ”sword intent.”

The scope contained within the words Divine Thought is far deeper than ”sword intent.”

And without cultivating Divine Thought, how could one properly practice Divine Thought into sword?
