The Quest for Immortality

Of course, if Mo Hua were truly driven by greed and wishful thinking, making a request to become the Taixu Sect Master, the elder would immediately grab him by the neck and throw him out of the back mountain.

In Mo Hua’s heart, it’s naturally impossible for him to not have a clue.

Although this senior did not specify the exact restrictions on this wish, it is very clear that not every wish can be granted.

If he is blind and truly makes an outrageous demand, he won’t get away unpunished.

He needs to align with the identity of a disciple, be positive and progressive, yet not make the senior feel dissatisfied, thinking he is overreaching, nor ask for an ”empty pie”—beautiful in the future but unattainable now.

Mo Hua pondered for a moment, then solemnly said:

”Ancestor, I wish to learn the sword!”

Patriarch Dugu slightly furrowed his brows.

As a disciple, wanting to learn the sword is normal.

His own accomplishments in sword dao integrate the strengths of various schools, comprehensively fused, vast as the sea. Though not unprecedented, his achievements are rare across the whole Qian Learning State Boundary.

However...

Patriarch Dugu glanced at Mo Hua, especially noticing his frail body, scant spiritual power, and the almost non-existent swordsmanship aura surrounding him.

”Have you ever had any sword dao heritage since childhood?” Patriarch Dugu asked.

”No...” Mo Hua answered honestly.

His background is impossible to hide.

”Do you have any sword dao foundation?”

”No.”

”Have you ever nurtured a spirit sword?”

”No.”

”Have you ever devotedly cultivated sword qi for more than ten years?”

”No.”

”Then... have you ever tempered a sword heart?”

Mo Hua still shook his head, ”No...”

And now, not only does he lack this knowledge, he doesn’t even know what a ”sword heart” is...

Patriarch Dugu was silent.

With this background... he still wants to learn the sword?

The elder remained silent for a moment, finally sighing.

Although with this child’s dull aptitude, wanting to achieve in sword dao might be a ”wishful thinking,” the idea of ”learning the sword” itself is correct. 𝑅𝐀ŊổᛒĘs̈

Aptitude, talent, high or low, cannot be an excuse.

As long as one is willing to strive, with a heart to learn diligently, encouragement is deserved.

In the thousands of years of history within the cultivation world, there are cases of dull aptitude, yet achieving supreme sword cultivation through postnatal effort.

Moreover, there is this cause and effect opportunity.

He sends the sword here, and I teach him swordsmanship.

This fulfills a cause and effect.

This child has low cultivation and weak sword dao accomplishments; teaching him even a bit would be enough to benefit him for a lifetime.

Patriarch Dugu paused in thought, glanced over Mo Hua’s adept Taoist skills and magic battle methods, then said:

”I will teach you the ’Hanxu Piaomiao Sword Skill,’ blending sword and movement technique into one, able to attack or defend, advancing or retreating with ease.” .

Mo Hua thought for a moment and shook his head.

His movement technique is already good enough. Integrating a killing move, using Mini Meteorite Skill is better, and learning a sword technique blending with movement seems somewhat redundant.

”Then I will pass on to you the Chongling Six Veins Swordsmanship, aligned with the Rushing Void Sect, specializing in sword qi cultivation. Its power is weaker, yet the sword qi is gentle, reducing the load on the flesh.”

Mo Hua still shook his head.

His current sword qi is weak; cultivating it might be in vain.

”Then I will teach you the Tai Xu Dragon Sword Skill. This sword technique is immensely powerful, not evident in the Foundation Establishment Realm, but once cultivated to the Golden Core and even Feather Transformation, it can control swords for a thousand miles, sword qi like a dragon. It is one of the core heritages of our Taixu Gate, not teachable to non-inner gate direct lineage. Given your special circumstances, I can make an exception, teaching you this one time.”

Tai Xu Dragon Sword Skill...

Mo Hua looked shocked.

The name alone sounds grand.

But similarly, it also sounds difficult to learn, likely requiring immense spiritual power, fine sword weapon, and profoundly deep sword dao foundation.

None of these things are within his grasp.

Though the sword technique is good, it’s evidently not something he could learn.

Mo Hua still shook his head.

The elder with a long beard was somewhat impatient, frowning and saying:

”Not learning this or that, then tell me, which swordsmanship do you want to learn?”

Mo Hua felt a bit guilty.

He initially thought the senior would mention that sword technique, so he wouldn’t have to bring it up and wouldn’t seem ”malicious.”

But now it seems impossible.

The Divine Thought Sword Skill has been listed as taboo by the Taixu Gate; it will likely not be taught again, and this senior probably won’t actively teach it.

And the Taixu Sect’s Divine Thought into sword is buried within the Sword Tomb.

Within the Sword Tomb, there’s only this senior.

This means that within Taixu Gate, the one truly capable of this sword technique might only be this ancestor here.

Given the circumstances, I cannot be courteous.

I must seize this opportunity.

While presenting my broken sword, this ancestor still feels a thread of gratitude in his heart; how about demanding boldly and resolving it in one stroke.

Once hesitant and missing this rare opportunity, it might never come again in the future.

”Ancestor, I wish to learn...” Mo Hua’s expression gradually became resolute, his gaze bright, speaking word by word:

”Taixu Divine Thought into sword True Jue!”

His voice was clear, resounding in the silent night, echoing between the Sword Tomb.

The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat stagnant.

The elder with a long beard was silently thoughtful, momentarily dazed.

In a brief recollection, he seemed to remember...

Several hundred years ago, it seemed to be in a similar forest, his most beloved grandson watched him like that, eyes steadfast, saying he wanted to learn Taixu Gate’s... Divine Thought into sword True Jue.

He softened then and also held tremendous expectations for him, so he broke the sect’s prohibition and secretly taught him.
