The Martial Unity

Chapter 3296: Nature Resonance

With his primary opponent momentarily limited, the attacks converging on Rui lowered in not just intensity but also frequency and their predictive power.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

Rui pirouetted through the air as he spun about the wooden explosive projectiles that converged on him, only to find two waves of attacks converging on him from the front and back.

WHOOSH

He summersaulted through the darkness of the night skies as he evaded the powerful projectiles before they could explode.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!

His wounds healed as the attacks eased up, putting less pressure on him as he continued ravaging the mind of the Mother of Nature in the distance.

WHOOSH

He ducked, evading a projectile coming overhead, only to find a destructive tree attack from below, aimed at his head.

FLICK

With a smooth arc, his pitch-black hand blurred, effortlessly slicing the projectile in half while dismantling its detonating mechanism. The very next moment, however, a barrage of projectiles converged on him from all directions, threatening to incinerate him alive.

And yet, they couldn’t so much as touch him.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

His body was reduced to a blinding haze as he weaved through the incoming storm of attacks with a profound evasive mastery.

Now that his opponent had been partially incapacitated by his Void of Water empowered by his Megamind, he was under a lot less pressure than he used to be. On top of that, Megamind amplified all his mental parameters, including his predictive model and prophesies.

In turn, it also weakened his physicality, but in these circumstances, that was the most appropriate choice of actions.

His glowing blood-red eyes remained fixed on Mother Amare.

’If I want to have any chance in defeating her, then I will need to get close.’

The best way to destroy her body was through the gu.

He could also use an extraordinarily destructive attack to try and crack her, but...

He shook his head.

’Mothers of Nature are defensive powerhouses, although their innate destructive power is a lot weaker.’

They were the opposite of a glass canon.

They were invintium cannons.

In particular, he could already tell that Mother Mara had cultivated the same invintium-laden bark for her own main body, making it almost impossible for Rui to destroy her with physical power alone.

He would inject her with the gu and let it run wild within her body, allowing him to consume her life.

On top of that, he had to admit that he was looking forward to allowing his gu to feast on her vitality and life and grow even stronger.

The gu grew stronger with each life it consumed.

The stronger the life, the stronger the gu grew.

Even before, when it had consumed the entirety of the forest, Rui found that his gu had grown stronger.

How strong would it go if it had the opportunity to kill a Mother of Nature?

He didn’t know.

But he would be lying if he said that he didn’t want to know.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!

His body launched itself in a tremendous attack as he leaped forth towards the giant body of Mother Mara with a vicious bloodlust.

An excited smile emerged on his face.

”You have my gratitude.”

His tone was eerily sincere.

”You have my gratitude for having the courage to bring me here.”

His voice was perilous.

”And you have my gratitude for your sacrifice.”

WHOOSH

He evaded a giant trunk that surged straight towards him midair in the night sky, only to find a flurry of leaves churning down on him from above.

FLICK FLICK FLICK FLICK FLICK!

His pitch-black hands turned into pure arcs of death, effortlessly cleaving apart the giant, super-sharp leaves in half as his gait through the skies was unperturbed.

His target was one and only one person.

Mother Mara.

His glaring hostility and his strange sense of gratitude towards her were not missed by the other Mothers of Nature.

’We must take over for our sister before he gets to her!’

’But she is the one to lead this mission!’

’On top of that, we are too far from the battlefield to be able to fight in real time!’

Although the flora network of the dark elves used cutting-edge communication technology, the signals were simply too slow to possibly match a Martial Sage in combat.

In particular, because of his powerful prophecy and system of thought empowered by Megamind, his reaction speed was effectively less than zero seconds, allowing him to intervene even before what he was intervening had even begun.

It was a realm of foresight and skill that far exceeded anything that the light elves had ever seen. Not even their organic pattern recognition technology was enough to possibly counter his Prophecy of the Void, empowered by Megamind.

Rui’s innate power had risen to such a level that he didn’t even need to create new techniques each time he fought.

He was a tremendous force to be reckoned with.

’Then, we have no choice. We must activate Nature Resonance!’

A profound silence emerged among the participating Mothers of Nature.

’Nature Resonance... against a single opponent inside our own domain? That seem excessive.’

’Do not underestimate him!’ the pained voice of Mother Mara joined the conversation. ’He has managed to grasp the flow of battle once more, gaining an advantage on us despite being heavily disadvantaged!’

They felt chills as they detected fear in the great Mother’s voice.

’He draws closer to me with each passing second! He undoubtedly plans to use that abominable, deathly power within himself to try to kill me! I cannot allow that to happen. We must crush him right here and right now!’

’Very well then, sister. Let us commence Nature Resonance.’

RUMBLE!!!!!

The attacks on Rui halted as the world shook violently with a surge of power.

He felt an astronomically extraordinary phenomenon spreading across East Genora.

A phenomenon of unparalleled energy.

The world shook as nature itself converged and evolved into a higher state.

RUMBLE!!!!!!!
