The Martial Unity

Chapter 2808: Overcoming Apocalypse

And with that resolution, the two of them immediately prepared for the journey, gathering all the supplies that they needed before getting ready to fulfill their commitment to the Heaven Sect.

In a large field of clouds in the Cloud Sect were all the available Martial Masters and Sages, ready for the Hellbringer embedding.

Rui frowned at Elder Diana. ”I thought I told you to get all the Martial Artists of all Realms except for Apprentices.”

And yet, it was a familiar voice from behind him that clarified.

”I handled the breakthroughs.”

Rui turned around as his eyes lit up with recognition.

He found himself staring at a man with black hair and eyes.

The two of them stared at each other with powerful gazes.

The intensity in their eyes escalated as they sized each other up. A faint tingling sensation of peril boiled in the air between the two Martial Masters.

A small smile cracked at the edge of Ruiʼs mouth.

”Youʼve grown stronger.”

Tokugawa Ieyasu simply gazed at Rui with a stoic intensity. ”I could say the same about you.”

Amare glanced between the two of them with a hint of nervousness as she felt the lingering tension that escalated between them. Ieyasu hadnʼt failed to notice her. His impassive gaze slowly shifted to her. His eyes lit up with what he saw.

Unadulterated, pure brightness and warmth.

She smiled at him with pure sincerity. ”My name is Amare. Itʼs a pleasure to meet you!”

A faint murmur escaped him as a profound realization dawned on him. ”You…”

The greed in his eyes began rising.

”Thatʼs enough.”

Rui protectively placed himself between Ieyasu and Amare, and his arm guarded her. He also activated his anti-Ieyasu barrier to protect her from the man. It was best that this fellow didnʼt find out she had the Progenitorʼs memories sealed within her. He would definitely have greed for the power that Amare had. And yet, it was Amare who voluntarily walked towards him with compassionate eyes.

”No amount of power will heal a fear that comes from within.”

Both Rui and Ieyasuʼs eyes widened with surprise.

Rui knew about his little secret because of his mind sense. He was basically cheating with it, but Amareʼs Martial Mind was not more powerful than Ieyasuʼs; thus, she should not have been able to detect the fear that lingered in the depths of his eyes.

”Itʼs evident in your eyes,” she smiled compassionately smiled. ”You should visit the Gen Temple and undergo the purification ritual when you are done with this mission. Iʼm sure that it will be of great help to you.”

He gazed at her with stoic dark eyes that reflected the brightness of her amber eyes.

”Maybe I will.”

His gaze shifted back to Rui. ”Put down that irritating domain of yours. I need to copy your technique if Iʼm to use it in the Namgung Dynasty.”

Rui reluctantly followed his words, allowing the man to read his mind as he turned back to the spectating Masters and Sages.

He smirked at Sage Sekiei, who glared at him with murderous bloodlust before turning back to Ieyasu.

”Watch and learn kiddo.”

Ieyasu simply stared at him silently, ignoring that childish barb.

BADUMP!

Ruiʼs Realms ignited with power as he immediately activated the Hellbringer embedding technique while Ieyasu watched with a deep gaze. The Masters gritted their teeth as they struggled to take in all the information that Rui unloaded upon all of them. Fortunately, it wasnʼt anything that rejuvenation potions couldnʼt fix.

”Got that?” Rui raised an eyebrow.

He simply nodded curtly.

”Good, then weʼre done here,” Rui declared, exchanging a nod with Elder Diana among the Sages. ”Amare, letʼs go. We have an lunatic powerhouse to persuade.”

”Yes!” She cheered as they intertwined hands, traveling with each other as they departed from the Heaven Sect, soaring through the air at high speeds.

”Wait…” Rui did a double-take as he turned to Amare. ”Where the hell is the Blood Goddess?”

Amareʼs expression grew a bit pouty. ”Did you just now notice her absence?”

Rui shrugged. ”I donʼt think about the woman. I certainly do not like her whatsoever.”

Amare heaved an exasperated sigh. ”She was taken to the Kandrian Empire by the Devil.”

”Ahhh…” Rui recalled how Sage Damian had come to the Heaven Sect with the intention of spectating his battle. ”I see.”

He snorted. ”Good riddance, I say.”

”Rui…!” ”Donʼt look at me with those droopy eyes, Amare. The woman is a menace. I want nothing to do with her.”

The two of them bickered as they surged through humanity with a swift velocity.

Although their tones were relaxed, their fast gait through the skies indicated the urgency that they felt in their mission.

The emergence of the Abyssal Dragon changed the equation for human civilization. The five-year deadline was now rendered meaningless. They had gone back to the state of chilling urgency that they had experienced when the Ecologer had informed them of the threat of the quasi-Transcendent beast and monsters. They needed to get to the Gu as soon as possible.

And they needed to convince them to join the Solution Harmony as soon as possible.

Rui intended to do all the research he needed to do on the way. With the Beggar Sage as his ally, he would be able to get extremely accurate and precise information on the Gu compared to the vague warning of Elder Diana.

With the information, he ought to be able to formulate a strategy with the highest probability of success and maximize the chances of everything going the way he needed it to go. ”I hope another monster does not emerge from the Beast Domain,” Amare murmured with a worried expression.

”Donʼt worry.” Ruiʼs tone was grave yet certain. ”My father will have definitely accounted for this possibility and set up a patrol system of Sages since Kandrian Sages are not shackled to Kandria. With other powerhouses cooperating, we can ensure that the damage is minimal. We can overcome this apocalypse if we all work together.”
