The Martial Unity

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!!

A series of heavy air blasts, each powerful enough to ravage an entire mountain range, blasted the powerful creature. And yet, -o—o-o was entirely unperturbed, keeping his eyes focused on Ria as his hands shot towards her, trying to grab her.

It was within her predictions.

Barely.

WHOOSH

She narrowly evaded the kidnapping attempt, leaping into the air above him, where she came face to face with the stinger that had already begun to spew web fluid at her.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The Martial Sage intercepted the web fluid, preventing it from getting all over her, giving her an opportunity to get away from the creature while she could.

She instead took the opportunity to attack.

BOOOOOOOM!!!

Her foot crashed on the creature’s skull with a heavy impact as she used Death’s Sympathy. What should have been a killing move instead was simply reduced to an attack that caused the creature to stir unsteadily for a few moments.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!

Both Ria and her new teammate swarmed the powerful alien creature, launching an onslaught of blows at the creature’s body. And yet, the extraordinarily tough web fluid armor made it impossible to hurt the creature. Its body was tough and was even better defended. Its hands lashed out at Ria once more, trying to grab her again.

And yet, she foresaw it.

WHOOSH

The creature’s hands clasped at thin air while she slipped through, arriving right in front of the creature’s head.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A spark materia prima flashed through her body as her knuckle crashed into the creature’s eyeball, perhaps the only place where she could even hurt it. The creature shuddered in pain, only for the Martial Sage to ravage its neck with a powerful kick, knocking it off balance a little while Ria blasted it with as many attacks as she could.

The two of them coordinated their attacks splendidly.

Or rather, Ria balanced herself with her newfound teammate extremely well, having already formed a preliminary causality model with him to be able to smoothly ensure that their attacks interwove with each other to bring about the maximum effect.

They didn’t hurt the creature particularly well, but they did manage to irritate it well enough. It knew that it would be much harder to capture this particular specimen before the rest of the war ended, as it appeared to be drawing closer and closer to an end.

“Fine. I. Will. Stop. Holding. Back.”

Her eyes widened at those words as she leaped away. “Watch out!”

Everything about her senses and instincts of causality warned her that she needed to get away as soon as she could.

CLICK CLICK CLICK “World. Of. Webs.”

Its stinger-like appendage pointed straight up as it unleashed an onslaught an explosion of web fluid spewing it in all directions at a volume that greatly exceeded even the volume of the creature’s body.

RUMBLE!!!!!

She watched with horror as a tsunami of web fluid was launched in all directions above her, expanding outwards faster than she could ever hope to outrun. The web fluid, to her shock, didn’t try to smother like she would have expected. Instead, it seemed to… vaporize.

It became a gas.

A gas that formed adhesive bonds with everything.

It was unavoidable.

The world became pure white. Dyed in the color of the web fluid of the ascendant homoarachnoid as it formed a domain that ensured everything it touched was bonded with the creature.

One moment, she had control over her body.

The very next moment, she lost all control of it.

Powerful, yet invisible bonds of adhesion formed across her body, connecting to the stringer of the homoarachnoid. Even the Martial Sage appeared to be incapacitated, even if his body could still move as he vainly attempted to resist the overwhelming adhesive power of the web fluid of the ascendant homo arachnoid.

The creature’s alien, black eyes with white pupils never moved away from hers.

It began drawing closer to her. CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK

It arrived before her frozen body.

“I. Look. Forward. To. Uncovering. The. Truth. Of Your Power.”

Its eyes sharpened.

Its hand reached out for her face, threatening to take her then and there.

RUMBLE

The creature froze.

It froze as it felt a tremendous wave of power. RUMBLE!!!

The world began shaking violently as the air around them began to undergo a change in color.

It began to grow red.

Blood red.

“What. Is. This?”

RUMBLE!!!!!

The white began eroding as the hue of blood-red began to swallow it up, growing more and more powerful. Blood began eroding much of the concentration of the adhesion that built up around them, freeing Arastia from her prison.

She gasped for air as she fell to the ground, breathing frantically. Yet, a grin emerged on her face.

She recognized this power.

“What… What. Is. Happening? My. World. Of. Webs. Is. Falling. Apart!”

She grinned at the creature. “You have no idea how much danger you’re in.”

Before the creature could even respond, the world around them shifted in the blink of an eye.

WHOOSH

The white backdrop around them was completely stripped away, returning them to the world of Planet Amadeus III around them as a tremendously powerful presence weighed down upon their heads from above.

The creature slowly turned its eyes straight up as it beheld the source of the domineering pressure that weighed on its head.

A single figure floated in the skies.

Her hair was blood-red.

Her eyes glowed like two red dwarf stars.

Her expression was steely.

“Blood Tsunami.”

RUMBLE!!!

The world shook violently as a calamitously powerful wave of blood washed over the entire tectonic plate.
