The Martial Unity

When Amare saw the countless wormholes opening up from every single direction, her heart sank. She knew that whatever was happening was beyond their wildest imagination. She wasn’t the only one.

Every single person froze.

In the midst of a war.

In the midst of a war for the fate of Gaia.

Each and every single pathwalker, soldier, pilot, and official froze where they stood as the light from the wormholes finally reached them. They finally beheld holes boring through the very fabric of reality, releasing an ocean of nebula gas into their solar system.

Their expressions were horrified, while their eyes were filled with despair and reckoning.

Some sobbed.

Others screamed.

Most were just frozen.

They were just frozen where they stood, unable to process reality.

Unable to process the trajectory that reality had appeared to take. They were already being pushed to their very limits against just the laminar army. They were already being pushed to their absolute maximum just protecting Gaia from the existing threats.

And now, they faced a new threat.

One that was so horrifying that it left them drowning in the abyss of despair.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as the wormholes stabilized, unleashing a flood of alien monsters drowned in darkness.

Alien monsters, unlike anything they had ever seen before.

The laminar army went utterly crazy upon seeing them, turning around as they ignored the Gaian army to attack the incoming alien monsters instead in an utterly mind-boggling turn of events.

“What the hell are those?!” Kane yelped as his expression grew uncharacteristically severe with reckoning. “I don’t know but…” Amare clenched her fists, gritting her teeth. “It’s charging towards Gaia from all directions.”

Her amber eyes burned with an intense willpower.

“We cannot allow it to bring harm to our world!”

And yet, for once, her words were unable to inspire courage in the hearts of those who saw the emerging monsters.

An endless tide of strange, horrifying alien creatures drowned in a fog of darkness.

That was when they saw it.

FWHOOSH!

The dark sea of expanding nebula gas had been lit up.

It glowed brightly.

It glowed brightly as a wave of ionization washed over it, spreading gigantic arcs of lightning to course through a section of the invading armies.

The Gaian Army widened their eyes with shock as they felt a familiar sensation accompany the distant light.

A wave of Water.

The Martial Embodiment of their most powerful pathwalker.

“Rui!” Amare lit up with amazement as she watched him fight back against the army of nebulars by his lonesome. The distant light of the two blood-red suns shining with blinding brightness was still barely visible despite the massive distance between them.

It reflected the sheer willpower that burned through him.

The determination that thrust him forth.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The cloud of nebula gas erupted brightly as a wave of ionization passed through it, causing electricity to flow through each and every single alien monster that had emerged through the wormhole. The flesh of the alien monsters buzzed and frayed with electricity as the ionization ravaged their chemical structures, threatening the very chemical processes that sustained their life. RUMBLE!!!!!

The sea of nebula gas shook as the nebulars shuddered with crackling electricity passing through their very being. The blood-red suns in Rui’s eyes flared with blinding brightness as he dedicated the sum totality of his body to generating a powerful ionizing field to fry his opponents with a tremendous amount of power. It took him every ounce of power in his body just to maintain the electromagnetic field to ionize the nebula gas. So much so that even moving his body was difficult when in that state. And yet, he pushed the very essence of his body to its absolute limit, optimizing his genes with each passing moment.

He utilized his body-consciousness to guide each and every single one of his cells to coordinate a level of cellular efficiency that was unlike anything he had ever attempted before.

The effects were powerful.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The ionizing field caused the sea of expanding nebula gas to partially disable the incoming alien monsters. Their biochemistry was unlike anything he had ever seen in his entire life.

They weren’t composed of cells or even laminar layers, the way that the laminar integuments were.

No, they were composed of a singular, flowing biochemical structure. Their exteriors were a singular continuous hydrocarbon structure, in the form of a membrane, while their interiors, much to his surprise, were composed of gases, instead of liquids. Their metabolism, much like the environment they had evolved in, comprised gaseous interactions, creating a much more volatile and chaotic metabolism.

At the same time, it allowed them to specialize in outer-space warfare to an extent that no planet-dwelling lifeform could ever hope to do so. He knew that if he confronted them in a direct conflict, he didn’t stand a single chance against the incoming army that seemed to be without end.

That was why he adaptively evolved to them using this methodology. It was a technique that used the principles of the Yggdrasil System to create an environment that was antithetical to them. Each and every single cell in his body burned every ounce of materia prima in But so what?

RUMBLE!!!!!

Rui’s eyes widened as the very fabric of space and time shook violently. The wormholes widened.

They grew larger and larger. RUMBLE!!!!!!

From within their depths emerged an even larger amount of nebula gas. From within their depths emerged even larger nebular monsters. They swam through the sea of nebula gas, propelling forth at astronomical speeds. The imbalance of pressure across the two sides of the wormhole acted as an extraordinary fluidic thrust, allowing them to push with a tremendous amount of momentum.

More momentum than Rui could ever hope to overcome by himself.

RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!

Enough force emerged from deep within the nebula to erode planets into a fine powder, pushing against him with an astronomical amount of power. He barely managed to survive with Etherea Corpa, struggling to maintain his ionizing field as he pushed himself to the very limit.

And yet, it was to no avail.

The world shook as Rui’s body was subjected to the most powerful force he had ever endured in his entire life.

He was subjected to the force of an expanding nebula.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
