The Martial Unity

“Omni-Heaven Rend.” His voice was menacingly malevolent as he swung his blade down on all of heaven and earth.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

The devastating attack washed over everything everywhere on the battlefield, including Rui. If not for the fact that the powerful grade-ten Sage-level technique was dissipated over a vast area, Rui would have exploded into a bloody mist with the sheer destruction of the attack. He immediately leaped away even as Weaving Blood surged to heal his new wounds. The further away he got, the less power he was exposed to.

But the maddened Sage chased after him with his greater speed, refusing to give Rui any space. Temporal Marionettera was most effective in combat maneuvering armed with foresight. It was not particularly useful for a sprinting race, which meant that Rui simply stood no chance of getting away from the Sage-level speed with his meager Master-level speed, especially when he had gotten rid of Godspeed to heal his wounds.

He used Gale Force Breathing with all his might to get away from the Martial Sage, but alas, it was simply in vain.

There was no escaping a Martial Sage on foot.

“Omni-Heaven Rend.”

The third attack ravaged the entire battle once more. BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

And yet, he didn’t stop.

He didn’t even bother verifying the damage.

By the one was finished, the other was already on its way, giving Rui almost no time to even gather his bearings.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

The world shook under the destructive devastation of Sage Sekiei as all of heaven smoothly transmitted all of his power across all of the battlefield.

There was nowhere to hide.

This was one of the most powerful technique that Sage Sekiei possessed in his Martial Art. Omni-Heaven Rend was a technique that he created with the sole intention of overcoming a weakness of a greatsword.

Its avoidability.

At least for the heavier class of greatsword, landing a blow on one’s opponent meant certain victory. However, in turn, landing a full-fledged blow was often difficult, especially against nimbler fighters. Sage Sekiei had also experienced this very impediment as his Semona Sword was comprised of a thick slab of rock before sharpening out into a razor-sharp edge, and he had chosen to overcome it in a unique way. One of them was, of course, his heavenly slicing shockwaves, but that alone wasn’t enough.

He has sought a technique that would allow him to get a guaranteed attack.

By applying Pascal’s Law with electromagnetic fields to align the atmosphere around his blade in a specific manner, he created a technique that allowed him to strike everything everywhere, all at once.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

Sage Sekiei relentlessly blasted Rui with Rend and Rend, inflicting damage on him at a remarkable pace. The attack allowed him to negate the usefulness of Rui’s VOID algorithm, SOUL System, and Scriptures of Terra while forcing him to spend a great amount of his stamina and biochemical reserves healing his wounds.

And yet, that wasn’t all. “Heavenly Karmic Binding.”

His system of thought allowed him to slowly shift all the heavenly force-transmitting channels to converge on his opponent away from the rest of the battlefield. It wove around Rui with no room to escape or resist, like a hunting net tightening around a struggling prey.

This was the perfect solution to not just ameliorating the ease of evading, but eliminating it entirely. He just hadn’t expected that he would need to use it against a Martial Master that was astronomically slower than him. Until Rui began gaining the advantage, his psychology had yet to adjust to the fact that he genuinely couldn’t afford to hold back against Rui.

Bit by bit, Sage Sekiei began inflicting a greater portion of his vast destructive power on Rui’s body directly. The Heavenly Karmic Binding allowed the Martial Sage to form an increasing number of heavenly channels of force that allowed him to transmit greater and greater force directly upon Rui’s body with each passing moment.

Eventually, he would be able to inflict one hundred percent of his power on Rui.

“Be honored,” a menacing snarl escaped the Martial Sage. “Be honored that I have decided to inflict use this heavenly technique on a meager Master.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

“When I’m done with you…” his eyes flared with murderous bloodlust. “Not even the slightest speck of blood will remain.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

“I will erase your very existence from this world.”

Although his words were arrogant, his combat approach reflected a degree of humility. By even using his most powerful techniques and system of thought that he prided himself for having created, he was acknowledging that Rui was too strong to be defeated by anything else.

He acknowledged that he would have to use his most powerful weapons that he had created and refined over centuries just to take down a Master just slightly over half a century old. It was a frustratingly humiliating concession. And yet, it was better than allowing himself to be defeated by the young Martial Master.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!

With each passing moment, he brought Rui closer and closer to death as an increasing number of wounds, cuts, and bruises appeared across his entire body. More bones cracked than were healed, and more tissue was destroyed than was regenerated.

Even though Weaving Blood had gotten several enhancements, with the high frequency of attacks of the Martial Sage as well as the escalating concentration of power, it simply could not be healed as fast as his Body was harmed. In fact, if not for the Blood of Solaris and the blood evolution treatment, he would have surely perished.

Sage Sekiei raised his sword for the last time over the broken body of the Dawnbringer. His eyes were murderous while his expression contorted with fury.

The spectating onlookers were frozen.

Their expression was severe, their eyes grave.

The air tingled with peril.

The atmosphere boiled with bloodlust.

The tension reached its crescendo as Sage Sekiei swung his blade down for the last time.

“Omni-Heaven Rend.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!
