The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Comminuted Fracture

Tang Feng’s body went limp instantly, his face full of tears as he said, ”I... I..., please spare my family, let’s just pretend nothing happened just now.”

”Mr. Tang, you’re quite humorous. What could I possibly do to your family? But you, don’t accuse me of assaulting an officer, that’s something I’ve never done.”

Lin Tian’s face held a smile, looking very approachable.

Tang Feng naturally didn’t think the same, right now his mind was only occupied with his wife and children. Being a police officer all these years, he understood well the work style of Du Dahai and his crew. It’s really possible they would do something like that.

Even Du Dahai fell into this young man’s hands, how could he possibly not be able to do it!

Tang Feng shook his head repeatedly, ”No, no, you are a good citizen, how could you possibly assault an officer? If someone accuses you of that, it must be a false accusation!”

Tang Feng said indignantly, as if he genuinely supported Lin Tian in the eyes of those who didn’t know.

”Since I didn’t assault an officer, how did you get the injury on your face?” Lin Tian asked with a smile.

”The injury was... the injury was from my... my head accidentally getting caught in the door a few times, that’s how it happened, nothing to do with you at all,” Tang Feng said.

”Hmm, very good. Then are you going to invite Mr. Xu to the movies again in the future?”

”No, no,” Tang Feng waved his hands repeatedly, glancing at Xu Ning’an with the corner of his eye, seeing she had no expression of wanting to pursue the matter, finally feeling relieved.

Tang Feng pointed at the door, saying, ”Uh... can I go check my face injury? My head hurts a lot, and I feel dizzy.”

”Go ahead,” Lin Tian stepped aside, making way.

Tang Feng, like receiving an amnesty, propped himself up with his hands on the ground, then dashed out as though fleeing for his life.

Normally, policemen would not fear hoodlums.

But the psychological shadow Du Dahai left on him was too great. He understood Du Dahai’s ways all too well, otherwise he wouldn’t be this frightened.

After Tang Feng ran away, Lin Tian noticed Xu Ning’an staring at him, or rather, her gaze hadn’t shifted from him.

”You’ve lost weight,” Lin Tian said.

”Heh, it’s quite good enough to be alive.”

”Haven’t been eating well lately?”

”I ate, about once a day.”

”...”

The air fell silent, their gazes meeting. Suddenly, two streams of clear tears flowed down Xu Ning’an’s face without warning.

”Why are you crying? That thug was chased away by me,” Lin Tian suddenly seemed at a loss.

”Why!” Xu Ning’an asked.

”What?”

”Why did you choose to come at this moment?!”

Her tone was accusatory, as if Lin Tian had done something wrong.

”Can’t I come at this time?” Lin Tian wondered.

”Why do you care for me when I’m at my lowest? Don’t you know this is when I’m most likely to depend on you!”

”...”

Lin Tian scratched his head, really not understanding what girls think, is it wrong to visit you when you’re sick?

”Do you regret it?” Xu Ning’an asked again.

”Regret what?”

”Regret coming to the hospital to see me, seeing me in such a miserable state. Compared to your girlfriend, don’t I fall too short?”

Lin Tian suddenly realized, she wasn’t angry, she was aggrieved, and there was despair hidden deep in her eyes.

The injury to her leg had caused her too much harm, not just leaving her disabled, but also taking away her hope for life.

Yes, someone who once shone the brightest in police school, now so downcast, how could she not be disappointed?

What Lin Tian didn’t know was, besides the big blow from the injury, she was also deeply depressed from a breakup.

Lin Tian picked up the bunch of carnations and handed it to Xu Ning’an, saying, ”Whether you’re healthy or disabled, you’re still a very important friend in my heart. Look, this bouquet of carnations, I bought it after checking three florists, it’s blooming beautifully and smells good.”

”I’ve seen you at your most disheveled, at your best dressed, and now at your lowest? It will all pass, and your leg will get better.”

Xu Ning’an looked at Lin Tian dazedly, taking the carnations. She inhaled the flower fragrance greedily, like someone starved swallowing whole bites.

”You’re lying! My leg can’t get better!” she held the flowers tightly to her chest, crying more intensely, her voice low, but her whole body trembling.

Low whimpering, this kind of restrained crying was the hardest to bear, and most heart-wrenching.

Lin Tian took out two tissues, wiped her tears twice, and said earnestly, ”Your leg, will certainly recover.”

”You’re lying...” Xu Ning’an couldn’t finish the last word as she met Lin Tian’s eyes. His expression was serious, the emotion in his eyes made her choking sobs stop.

”Do you know how to treat?” Xu Ning’an looked at him puzzledly.

”Do you know Zhao Xuefeng?”

Xu Ning’an shook her head, ”No.”

”He’s the most authoritative in ancient medicine, and now my teacher, so do you think I can treat you or not?”

”Can you really help me recover?”

”Really!”

”But the doctor said...” Xu Ning’an paused, then with difficulty said, ”My kneecap is shattered, they told me to accept my fate...”

She looked up with her tear-stained delicate face at Lin Tian, ”Can it really recover?”

”It can! I promise! It will recover!” Lin Tian said.

”But...”

”No buts, if I say it can, then it can. But you need to eat well and regain the weight you lost before.”

”Okay.” Xu Ning’an nodded lightly, and perhaps if other police officers in the bureau saw this scene, their jaws would drop. When did the fiery-tempered tough flower become so gentle?

”Stretch out your leg, let me take a look.” Lin Tian said.

Xu Ning’an lifted the quilt, her leg still in a white cast. Lin Tian squinted his eyes slightly, activating his perspective vision.

Through the cast and skin, Lin Tian saw a bloody scene. As the doctor said, Xu Ning’an’s kneecap really was shattered, with four fragments of star-shaped fractures, and a very deep bullet mark, almost piercing through her entire leg. Her bone marrow, periosteum, and surrounding soft tissue were also damaged.

A typical comminuted fracture.

The most shocking part was her knee, fixed with eighteen steel nails, like a hedgehog, most of which were exposed outside.

In this situation, if Xu Ning’an actively cooperates with treatment, waits for the bones to heal well, and then begins rehabilitation training.

The more she can endure pain during rehabilitation, the smaller the sequelae might be. Perhaps she could even walk and jog like a normal person.

But thinking of sprinting, long jump, or missions is out of the question.

This situation is much more troublesome than Lin Tian’s previous injuries, although he had broken nine bones before, none of them were shattered into such small pieces like Xu Ning’an’s.
