The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 584: Chapter 584: The Cripple

The blue Porsche gleamed dazzlingly under the sunlight.

Lin Tian parked the car in the hospital’s parking lot and, with the items he bought, walked towards the outpatient department.

Following the old man’s advice, he picked a bunch of flowers, the most blooming carnations, and a basket of fruits.

He originally wanted to personally make a pot of soup, but there was not enough time.

At the window, Lin Tian politely asked, ”Excuse me, which ward is Xu Ning’an in?”

The young nurse looked up at Lin Tian’s face and then exclaimed, ”It’s you?”

Last time when Lin Tian was handling discharge procedures, the director himself helped him out and even invited him to attend the medical summit.

Most importantly, being tall and handsome, how could the young nurse not notice him? She recognized him at first sight.

Lin Tian was taken aback, ”You know me?”

”Uh... no, but I could get to know you, handsome. How about I treat you to dinner after my shift? Then we can catch a movie!” The young nurse flirted directly.

”...” Are girls nowadays all this bold? Lin Tian composed himself and said, ”Let’s talk about it then. Right now, I need to visit my friend. Which ward is Xu Ning’an in?”

”Wait a moment... let me check.” After typing a few keystrokes, the young nurse smiled and said, ”Room 512.”

”Thanks.” Lin Tian hurried his pace, practically running away. Smitten women could be quite scary. Behind that young nurse, there were five other young nurses, all staring intensely at him, almost as if they wanted to devour him.

He took the elevator to the fifth floor, Orthopedics, the same floor where Lin Tian stayed last time.

Lin Tian quickly found room 512, also a VIP room, with the door slightly ajar.

Lin Tian extended his hand, about to knock when he heard a quarrel from inside.

”Ning’an, come back with me? We’ll go abroad, I’ll find you a better doctor, your leg will surely recover. Though it’s expensive, don’t worry, I can afford it!” A man’s voice sounded.

This voice sounded familiar to Lin Tian; he must have heard it somewhere before.

”No need.” Xu Ning’an replied indifferently.

”Look at you now, lacking spirit. How about we travel? Where do you want to go? I’ll take you there.”

”I said no need.”

”Then let’s go watch a movie. Staying cooped up in the ward isn’t good, right? Didn’t you love crime thrillers? A new one just came out, about human trafficking, with great reviews, let’s go?”

”Human trafficking?” Xu Ning’an lowered her head, looking at the snow-white sheets, thinking once more of Lin Tian.

The first time she saw Lin Tian was precisely when he busted a human trafficking ring’s den.

The way sunlight shone on him that day, his impassioned manner while giving a statement, and his vibrant appearance.

These scenes often played in Xu Ning’an’s dreams.

Perhaps this is what they call, falling deeply in love without knowing why?

But... he has a girlfriend. She met her in the hospital, even without makeup, extraordinarily beautiful, graceful, with an impressive figure.

Heartbroken before even dating.

The joke heaven played on her didn’t end there; during that night’s ”land-claiming operation,” she got injured, her right kneecap shattered by a bullet in a shootout.

The impact from the bullet meant her kneecap couldn’t heal even after surgery. The doctor said, ”No more running or jumping, and after recovery, get fitted with a suitable cane.”

Xu Ning’an was in despair. She knew she might be a cripple for life, perhaps needing a cane to accompany her forever.

Xu Ning’an struggled against this, ignoring others’ advice, forcing herself to stand up from the bed, wanting to run, jump like before, even undertake missions, and personally put those unforgivable criminals behind bars.

She also wanted to personally capture Du Dahai and Xiaogang, to avenge her leg!

And to avenge her mother!

But a shattered kneecap meant one couldn’t walk normally.

Exerting all her strength, Xu Ning’an managed a few steps, getting faster, then she fell, her face hitting the ground, her entire body in pain, especially her right leg, the searing pain almost making her cry out.

The nurses tried to help her up, but she pushed them all away.

She wanted to rely on her own strength to stand, unwilling to become useless.

With her feet on the ground, biting her teeth, she tried to jump, as high as she used to. But before she could lift off, the pain in her right leg made her fall again, and hard.

The nurses wanted to help her, but the doctor stopped them, saying, ”Let her vent, and after that... she’ll accept her fate.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Ning’an couldn’t hold back any longer; her tears flowed uncontrollably.

She cried her heart out, sobbing bitterly, clutching her chest tightly, her beautiful features squeezed together.

Crying, she eventually fainted, but the tears wouldn’t stop.

Later, many from the police station came to visit her, saying comforting words.

But no one could truly understand her feelings; those comforting words were just superficial, useless, unable to soothe her.

Visitors came and went, she had no mood for company. Often staring at the white ceiling, lost in thought.

The man currently in the chair is also a colleague from the police. He’s not young anymore, still a playboy, who knows how many young girls he’s deceived.

Seeing Xu Ning’an injured, at her most vulnerable, he tried to take advantage, but how could these things escape Xu Ning’an’s awareness?

Seeing Xu Ning’an silent, Tang Feng continued, ”Let me tell you the movie’s plot; I’ve seen it. It starts with a trafficking gang on a night...”

”I said I don’t need it!” Xu Ning’an suddenly sat up straight, shouting, ”Get out!”

”Ning’an, what’s wrong?” Tang Feng was startled.

”I told you to get lost!”

”Are you hungry? I’ll get you something to eat?”

”Tang Feng! Stop pretending to be a good guy! You’re disgusting like this, I don’t want to insult you, but you forced me, leave, I don’t want to ever see you again.” Xu Ning’an shouted.

Tang Feng was stunned, his face changing repeatedly after hearing Xu Ning’an, then awkwardly, he suddenly sneered: ”Xu Ning’an, you used to be a goddess, are you now? You’re nothing but a cripple, I’m doing you a favor by acknowledging you, yet you act ungrateful. Do you know how many girls want to sleep with me? I’m giving you one last chance; if you sleep with me for one night, I’ll give you two hundred thousand, how about it?”

Xu Ning’an glared at him angrily; if she had sound legs, she would unhesitatingly make sure this disgusting guy ends up half-disabled!
