The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 363: Blacking Out

ʼI-I canʼt breathe! Whatʼs happening?!ʼ, Rex thought while holding his chest in pain, two system notifications came onto his vision making him straighten his back strugglingly.

Seeing the sky that is already covered by a veil that makes the night darker, Rex widens his eyes as he canʼt believe the entire sky got engulfed by the spell that Durrant used.

The scale of the spell makes Rexʼs expression stiff,

As far as his eyes can see, the sky is covered by this dark veil that not only makes the night darker but also makes the moonlight energy disappear from the air.

It even makes Rexʼs passive skill turned off because of not detecting moonlight energy.

ʼThis shouldnʼt be the power of a Seventh rank Undead... this canʼt be true, right?ʼ, Rex thought in disbelief as he canʼt put his head around the spell that Durrant had just cast.

Because of the dark veil from Durrantʼs spell,

Rexʼs power surpasses even Durrant which puts him in the upper echelon of the early Seventh Rank got reduced heavily alongside the deactivation of the Sovereign of the Night passive skill.

Heʼs now nothing but a peak sixth rank if he added his other enhancements,

The current power he has now canʼt compare to Durrant at all, he realizes that the table has just been turned, and fighting against Durrant right now will only result in him being killed.

”Are you scared now?! Yes, show me your expression!”, Durrant said with a crazy grin.

Heʼs looking at Rex instantly that slowly but surely has a hint of paleness in his expression, itʼs due to the fact that this situation is very, very dire.

Durrant then added with a crazy laugh, ”Fear me! Fear me more!!”

Upon hearing this, Rexʼs eyes landed on Durrant before cold fingers seeped through his body and squeezed his heart feeling that the situation he was in is very dire.

ʼI still have the bomb!ʼ, Rex thought as he takes out the purifying bomb.

Without even wasting another second, Rex slammed the vial to the ground before the ground around them lit up with a bright light.

The holy property started to purify the death energy but then,

SPLASH!

Rex widen his eyes when he saw the holy energy wasnʼt even able to purify the place as it got overwhelmed by the death energy instead, itʼs not working as he thought it will be.

Looking at this, Durrant laughs maniacally, ”No matter what you do, you will die today!”

”I donʼt care what the repercussions will be, but I will be doing my race a favor by killing you, a fake Werewolf prince here right now!”, Durrant added as his entire body glows with death energy.

While looking at this, Rex is trying to find a way desperately.

But his expression turns paler by the second when any of his plans was eliminated by the dark veil, itʼs a horrifying spell that puts Rexʼs back against the wall.

The transferral crystal that Rex used as a last resort,

He wanted to use it to flee the place if necessary but the notification from the system makes the cold sweat on his forehead become even more evident, he was running out of options.

ʼWhat should I do!ʼ, Rex thought while looking around trying to find a chance or place to escape, but there was nothing around him except for corpses and trees.

Rex looks at Durrant who was about to dash to him,

But then he suddenly saw the black crystal on Durrantʼs forehead is cracked, it started crumbling piece by piece as it stops pumping death energy throughout Durrantʼs body.

Rex realized that the spell is laughably strong, heʼs even sure that itʼs not a normal kind of spell and surely there will be somekind of blowback to Durrant.

A massive one at that,

ʼAlthough he looks okay, he should be getting weaker by the secondʼ, Rex thought.

He then puts his senses to his max as he concentrates on Durrant, heʼs starting to find hope of a way out, ʼI just need to survive this until the spell blows on his faceʼ

Right after Rex thought of that,

SWISH!

BAM!

”HUAAKHH!”, Rex spat a mouthful of blood as he suddenly saw Durrant is already beside him.

It happened when Rex blinked but at that exact time Durrant already dashes at him and landed a solid knee right on Rexʼs stomach, the power behind the attack destroyed Rexʼs internal organs as he was sent flying away penetrating everything on his path.

CRASH!!

BAM!

Rexʼs back hits against a tree before bouncing off of it,

ʼFuck! That shook my insides, from just one hit!ʼ, Rex exclaimed as he puts his hands on the ground, the pain in his body area hurts him to the point of stiffening his body.

Durrantʼs attack becomes even heavier after the passive skill is deactivated,

The difference in their strength is almost three times the amount now, itʼs a miracle that Rex didnʼt die from that attack, ʼHmm, what is this white energy?ʼ, Rex thought with a frown.

But he immediately shakes his head and opens the inventory, ʼI donʼt care anymoreʼ

ʼI want to use Extreme State but itʼs not going to be good to be weakened for half a day, especially in this kind of situation. Letʼs just use the invincible item and get out of hereʼ, Rex thought as he taps on the invincible item, he was about to use it instantly sensing that Durrant is slowly approaching him.

But Rex stopped when notifications from the system appear in front of him,

Reading this, Rex frowns as he didnʼt understand what the system is saying.

Before he can think of anything else,

STAB!

A black ice spike sprouted from the ground impaling straight through Rexʼs stomach as he got lifted 20 feet off the ground, Rex widen his eyes as he spat a mouthful of blood.

Rex looks down slowly and saw the black ice spike pierced through his entire body,

Aside from piercing Rexʼs body, there is a white barrier that the black ice spike pierced first before piercing Rexʼs body but Rex canʼt think of anything right now.

The realization of getting impaled makes his entire world shook as his vision turns blurry,

ʼI canʼt pass out... Iʼm going to die if I passed out right nowʼ, Rex thought trying his best to stay conscious, but the grim reaperʼs temptation makes his eyes blurrier and blurrier.

Without backing down from the grip of death, Rex gritted his teeth, ʼIʼm going to live!ʼ

He opens the shop and bought an eighth rank healing elixir,

Rex already bought the healing elixir but his power is starting to leave his body, he summons the elixir from the inventory but he canʼt raise his hand to lift the elixir as the elixir falls to the ground.

It doesnʼt matter how much Rex tries, his body is not listening to him.

ʼFUCK! I CANʼT DIE!ʼ, Rex screamed inside his head putting everything he had into one last push, he pushed his body off of the black ice spike before landing right beside the healing elixir.

With the last bit of strength in his body,

Rex manages to bring the healing elixir to his mouth before biting through the elixir, he drinks the content instantly before gulping it all down.

After the content of the healing elixir starts to get to work,

Rex can feel some of his power got back to him, he was not going to let himself be killed by a measly Undead as he brings himself up slowly while glaring at Durrant with bloodthirsty eyes.

Stopping his movement, notifications from the system appears.

ʼI canʼt read themʼ, he thought squinting his eyes, his vision is still blurry for some reason.

But right after the notification appears, Rexʼs eyes suddenly turn heavy making him struggle to keep his consciousness to no avail, ʼAm I going to die?!ʼ, he exclaimed in his head.

His body feels heavy as he falls to the ground weakly.

Rexʼs eyelids started to close slowly, the last thing he saw was Durrant approaching him.

But then suddenly, ”Eh?”

Rex opens his eyes and finds himself standing in front of Gustava who is shivering under a tree while looking at him fearfully, he looks around in confusion finding this to be odd.

But right after that he then widens his eyes before he grabs his stomach.

ʼWhat? How did the wound already heal?ʼ, Rex thought while touching his stomach, he just got impaled by the black ice spike from Durrant before.

Even the armor that heʼs wearing from before is still intact, thereʼs no hole in the stomach part.

He can remember it clearly since it happened a moment ago,

The black ice spike penetrating his armor, the blood that is gushing out of his mouth, the struggle to drink the healing elixir, and even Durrantʼs mocking gaze.

Rex thought he was gonna die,

The mocking smile from Durrant shows that even Durrant thought that Rex will die from that.

But now, Rex checks his stomach and his entire body to only find that thereʼs no sign of wounds he sustained from the battle before itʼs almost as if it didnʼt happen in the first place.

Rex turns his head left and right and finds the place is in a mess,

All of the trees that shouldʼve been around him were rooted off the ground leaving not even a single standing tree, the sight is a broken terrain as far as his eyes can see.

Battle scars can be seen throughout the place, the battle did happen before.

Heʼs now already in his human form,

Even though heʼs in his human form, Rex feels completely fine as if he just got to this place.

The battle he did with the Durrant was like a dream, heʼs still frowning since heʼs still confused about the situation heʼs in that just doesnʼt feel right.

If not for the carcasses around him, Rex might be convinced that the battle is a dream.

Although itʼs hard to assess the situation around him since the place is destroyed to the brim, Rex found a couple of Undead carcasses around his place.

He even finds the carcass of the four-armed Undead, ʼSo itʼs not a dream, then what happens?ʼ

Rexʼs eyes then landed on Gustava before he squatted down and asks, ”What happened here? Where is Durrant? I didnʼt see him anywhere”

But upon hearing this, Gustavaʼs body becomes even tenser, ”Iʼm sorry, master...”

Hearing this, Rex can only sigh since itʼs useless to ask Gustava who can only apologize like a robot about what happened during the battle against Durrant before.

Rex wanted to look around but he suddenly just realized that he was holding something.

Looking down at his hand, Rex widens his eyes in surprise.

”Wh-What the heck?!”, Rex exclaimed as he threw the thing that he was holding in surprise.

Since heʼs just very confused about the situation heʼs in, Rex didnʼt realize that his hand is holding something and just realized it now when he was about to look around.

Thud!

The thing that Rex holds before rolls a couple of feet on the ground,

”How did he die?!”, Rex exclaimed as he realized the thing that he was holding before is Durrantʼs head, the dark blood gushing out of Durrantʼs head is still fresh emitting a haunting stench.

He was really surprised to find that he was holding Durrantʼs head, ”What the heck happened?!

While heʼs thinking about what happened to him, Rex suddenly got an idea as he asks, ʼDevo, Can you hear me? I want to ask you somethingʼ

After waiting for a while, Devo didnʼt answer.

Rex asks for the second time before finally, Devoʼs voice appears once again, Devoʼs breaths are haggard as if he just run a marathon.

ʼDid you know what just happened?ʼ, Rex asks ignoring Devoʼs weird breaths.

Hearing this, Devo then catches his breath before he replied, [I donʼt know, I was giving you all of the spirit energy that I had but then suddenly I passed out]

ʼYou passed out too?ʼ, Rex thought with a frown.

Not long after, notifications from the system started to pop out in front of Rexʼs vision.

Since Durrant is dead and the other Undead already ran fearing Rexʼs power, the one that is left is only Gustava who for some reason is staying in her place unmoving.

Thereʼs no sign of fighting back or even wanting to escape from Gustava.

But Rexʼs mind canʼt think about her as he still wants to know about what just happened to him, ʼIf just thereʼs someone aside from this useless Undead that witness what happenedʼ

ʼI remember the system said something about a Countess...ʼ

Rex sigh but then suddenly he remembers something, ʼSystem, show me the notification summary logʼ

The system shows Rex the summary of the notifications starting from the most recent one, Rex finds that he indeed is the one that killed Durrant who is a Seventh rank Supernatural.

But then, his eyes landed on the fourth and fifth most recent notifications.

ʼCountess of the Dark Luniric? What is she?ʼ, Rex thought.

Reading this, Rex frowns as he didnʼt expect the information will cost so much even though he still got plenty of gold left from the money Adhara gave.

After thinking for a moment, Rex finally lets it go since he canʼt figure this out.

ʼAs long as Iʼm alive, I donʼt mind getting possessed by this so-called Countess of the Dark Luniricʼ, Rex thought before he looks around trying to locate the woman.

He sniffs the air and finds the woman still covered by the Astral Blanket,

Rex sighed in relief after finding that the Astral Blanket did as expected, ʼThat spell from Durrant surprises me, I didnʼt even use Decimation Frevor to fight himʼ

ʼThe scale and effect of the spell caught me off guardʼ, he thought with a sigh.

The Blanket of the Moon is a terrifying spell,

Even the system told Rex that itʼs a forbidden spell, itʼs crushing to feel that such a spell can be used by a seventh-rank Undead like Durrant.

Since he just got confident after he stands his ground in front of a seventh-rank Supernatural.

Rex got this feeling of confidence that drowns him when Durrant suddenly uses the Blanket of the Moon spell, he was too surprised when this happens.

If he was calm, he couldʼve thought of a way to escape but the spell is too much.

After cursing himself for making a grave mistake that almost resulted in his death, Rexʼs eyes then turn to the shivering Gustava again before he thought, ʼNow that Durrant is out of the way, What should I do with her?ʼ
