The Heart System

Chapter 926: Chapter 926

Her silver, slightly curly hair framed her face in soft waves. She wore a fitted dark-green dress that hugged her figure from the high neckline down to mid-thigh. The fabric clung to the full curve of her breasts and the narrow line of her waist before flaring just enough over her hips. The sleeves were short, leaving her arms bare, and a thin silver necklace rested against her collarbone. She looked sharp, expensive, and quietly dangerous.

”Anotta.”

”Evan.” Her eyes flicked past me into the apartment for half a second before returning to my face. ”Have you found anything about who’s investigating you?”

I shook my head. ”No. And I still don’t understand why anyone would bother. I’m just an ordinary guy. Evan Marlowe. Nothing special.”

Ah fuck. She definitely noticed what I was doing just a second ago. But she was keeping quiet.

She hummed, unconvinced. ”Ordinary people don’t usually attract this kind of attention.”

”Why didn’t you just call?” I asked. ”Would’ve been a lot easier, though.”

”Because phones can be listened to. Especially right now.” She kept her voice low. ”Whoever is looking into you is thorough. I prefer not to leave a trail if I can help it. If you learn anything, anything at all, you contact me in person. Nowhere else.”

I nodded. ”Understood.”

Anotta studied me for another moment, as if weighing whether she believed me, then gave a short nod of her own. ”Don’t take too long. Time isn’t on our side.”

She turned and walked away without another word. I closed the door, locked it, and stood there for a second, exhaling slowly. Then I shook my head, scoffed under my breath, and headed for the bathroom.

Kayla was sitting on the edge of the large bathtub, completely naked, watching the water rise. Soft steam already filled the room. Bubbles from the shampoo she had poured in floated across the surface in thick, white foam. She looked up when I opened the door.

”What was that about?” she asked.

”Anotta. Someone’s investigating me. She wanted to know if I’d found anything. I haven’t.”

Kayla’s expression turned more serious. ”Sounds... serious.”

”It is. But not something I can fix right this second.”

The tub was nearly full. Kayla stepped in first, sinking down into the hot, soapy water with a soft sigh. I stripped the rest of my clothes off and climbed in after her. The water was almost too hot at first, the bubbles thick enough that they covered everything below our chests. I sat back against the sloped end of the tub. Kayla immediately shifted and settled on top of me, her back against my chest, soft wet skin sliding against mine. The shampoo foam clung to her breasts and the tops of her thighs.

I wrapped one arm loosely around her waist and let the other hand drift lower under the water. My fingers found the soft fold of her pussy and began tracing it absently, not rushing, just exploring the slick heat of her while we soaked. Kayla made a quiet sound and relaxed heavier against me. My other hand slid around to her hip, then further back, cupping one wet cheek of her ass and giving it a slow squeeze.

”You’re still sticky,” she murmured, half-laughing.

”Whose fault is that?”

She didn’t answer. Instead she reached down between her own thighs, found my cock, and wrapped her fingers around it under the water. I was already starting to harden again from the simple contact of her body against mine and the lazy way my fingers were playing with her. She stroked me slowly, the soapy water making everything slick and easy. My cock thickened fully in her hand, the head brushing against the soft skin of her inner thighs every time she moved.

I kept touching her in the same unhurried way, two fingers gliding between her folds, occasionally circling her clit, then sliding lower to press lightly against her entrance without pushing in. My other hand stayed on her ass, kneading the soft, wet flesh, sometimes letting a finger drift into the cleft and rest against her tight hole without pressing further. The hot water and thick bubbles made every touch feel slower, heavier.

Kayla tilted her head back against my shoulder and kept stroking me, her grip firm and steady. My cock rested trapped between her closed thighs now, the shaft sliding against the soft, soapy skin every time either of us shifted. The friction was gentle but constant. I could feel myself throbbing in the warm space she created.

”You’re getting hard again already,” she said quietly, almost amused.

”You’re naked and sitting on me in a bathtub. What did you expect?”

She laughed softly and squeezed my cock a little tighter, still stroking. I answered by slipping one finger inside her under the water, slow and shallow, while my thumb kept brushing her clit. Kayla’s breath caught. She pushed her ass back against my hand in a small, instinctive movement, and the motion made my cock slide more firmly between her thighs.

We stayed like that for a long while, hot water, thick bubbles, quiet breathing, and the slow, lazy exploration of each other’s bodies. My fingers moved between her pussy and the soft curve of her ass without any real goal except to keep touching her. Her hand never left my cock, stroking it in the same unhurried rhythm, sometimes letting the head nudge against the soft skin of her thighs or the lower curve of her stomach under the foam.

The bathroom was quiet except for the occasional drip of water and the soft, wet sounds of our hands moving under the surface. Kayla’s body stayed heavy and relaxed against mine, completely open to whatever I wanted to do with my hands, while she kept my cock hard and trapped between her soft, soapy thighs.

Man... I could get used to this.
