The Heart System

Chapter 920: Chapter 920

I was back at the penthouse. The others were still at work. The clock on the wall showed one in the afternoon. Outside, the sun was surprisingly strong for this time of year.

Minne had the day off to visit her mother, so the place was completely empty. I closed the door behind me, slipped the keycard into my pocket, and walked into the living room. For a few seconds I just stood there, taking in the silence. Then I dropped onto the couch and turned on the TV.

Boring.

Since I actually had time to myself, I decided to deal with my stats. I had nearly 35k credits sitting around. More importantly, my Pleasure skill was still stuck at 49. I didn’t have OCD or anything, but that number bothered me for some reason.

I bought forty Ability Points without overthinking it. I had more than enough credits. After confirming the purchase, the points appeared in my status. Forty points to spend however I wanted.

”Alright... so...”

First I put one point into Pleasure, bringing it to 50. Hitting the soft cap triggered the reset screen, asking me if I confirmed it or not. Well... sure? Pleasure dropped back to 1 and half the invested points were refunded. That left me with 64 points total. I hated the math, but it worked in my favor.

”And... yeah, dump all fifty-nine of them.”

Pleasure shot up to 60. I still had five points left. It was probably time to do something about Luck. It had been sitting at 10 forever and barely ever activated.

I reset Luck as well. The system refunded five points, bringing my total back to ten. I dumped all ten into Luck and confirmed. It only went up by one point, but progress was progress.

Good. Pleasure at sixty, Luck at eleven. Though, I was a little poorer than I was before. But thanks to the investments I did to Bliss Multiplier, earning credits wasn’t that hard. And since my Pleasure was now at sixty, and my current reputation would reward me more each time my partner orgasmed during sexual encounter, it wouldn’t be that hard.

A knock sounded at the door. I pushed myself up from the couch and went to open it.

Kayla stood on the other side. She looked... brighter than usual. Almost happy. The soft afternoon light from the hallway caught her face in a way that made her smile look even warmer.

”Hey, you.”

I didn’t want to kill the mood by looking as tired as I felt, so I opened my arms wide instead of saying anything. She stepped in without hesitation. I closed the distance, hooked my hands under her thighs, and lifted her clean off the ground. Kayla let out a short, surprised laugh that turned into a soft sound when I kissed her. Her legs locked around my waist immediately, arms looping around my neck.

”Missed me that much?” she asked against my mouth, still smiling.

”Maybe a little,” I said, carrying her inside. ”You look good today.”

”I feel good today.” She kissed me again, slower this time, while I kicked the door shut behind us with my heel.

”Well, well, well. Lucky me.”

I walked us into the living room and sat down on the couch with her still in my lap. Kayla didn’t move to get off. She settled deeper, soft tits pressing against my chest through her top, head resting on my shoulder. One of her hands idly played with the back of my hair.

”How was work?” I asked, voice low.

”Busy. New barista trainee actually didn’t fuck up the latte art for once. I almost cried. Progress.”

I chuckled. ”High praise coming from you.”

”It is. Most of them can’t even steam milk properly the first week.” She shifted a little, getting more comfortable on my thighs. ”What about you? Quiet day?”

”Something like that. Place was empty until you showed up.”

My hands slid down her back and settled on her ass. Even through the tight pants the soft, heavy weight of it filled my palms. I gave both cheeks a slow, appreciative squeeze. Kayla let out a quiet chuckle and pressed a warm kiss to the side of my neck.

Fuck.

The pants she had on were stretched tight across that thick, perfect ass. The fabric hugged every curve, making it look even bigger and juicier than usual. No other girl I knew even came close. Soft, heavy, and shaped in a way that made my hands itch to dig in harder. I squeezed again, thumbs pressing into the plush flesh, and felt it give under my fingers.

”You’ve got the best ass I’ve ever seen,” I muttered against her hair. ”Seriously. None of them can compete. It’s unfair.”

Kayla smiled against my neck. ”You say that every time.”

”Because it’s true every time. Soft, thick, perfect. I could sit here and just hold it for an hour. Fuck...”

”Mmh...”

A soft chime sounded at the edge of my vision.
