The Great Thief

The Wings of Dawn were a powerhouse guild.

Even Lu Li had to admit that. However, in his eyes, they were nothing more than an opponent that was putting some pressure on him.

To think that back in the day, a young internet addict who left home would have conflict with someone while training in the Wild.

His gaming talent was not bad – it was enough to defeat someone.

Unfortunately, the ones killed by him had a guild background, so he quickly fell under the siege of a group of people.

This young man was very stubborn and wasn’t willing to suffer any losses, so he went back again and again. He would charge front on, from behind, and use all sorts of tactics. However, in the end, he found in despair that his human strength would only be exhausted. How could one man possibly fight against an army?

Hence, he created a small guild.

This guild was called the Wings of Dawn.

As time went by, the ridiculous and childish original intention of founding a guild had long ceased to exist as he gained great ambition and strengths. Thirty years had passed, and this guild grew stronger and stronger, until finally, it dominated the top of the rankings.

This young man grew up and had a son called Dream 13.

Dream 13 was both the leader and coach of the Wings of Dawn. His father was the CEO of the guild. Someday, he would inherit this family business and become the master of the Wings of Dawn.

In addition to inheriting his father’s estate, he also carried on his father’s other wish – to defeat Seventh Heaven.

The ones who bullied that young man back in the day, which led to his rage in establishing the guild, were some outlying members of Seventh Heaven.

These two guilds were both elite guilds in the top 10 rankings of the China region.

Defeating Seventh Heaven was easier said than done, so they battled at every opportunity. One could see Wings of Dawn and Seventh Heaven against each other in every public battle The audiences were always very excited as everyone knew about this old feud.

In the battles for Strongholds, these two guilds would also be particularly competitive.

This naturally became the standard for their competition.

The Wings of Dawn employed some odd tactics, many of which were ideas from Dream 13. Even so, they operated successfully and took Tanaris from Peerless City.

Soul Eater had told Dream 13 all of Peerless City’s arrangements and helped him take Tanaris. Dream 13 had given Soul Eater a large payment in return, as well as a promise to form an alliance after Soul Eater defected and support his rebellion.

This plan was pretty perfect, and could only be pulled off by a super guild like the Wings of Dawn.

Otherwise, even if you knew the arrangement of Peerless City’s Stronghold, you still couldn’t capture it. Everything meant nothing in the face of absolute power.

The youngster who created Wings of Dawn with his own hands was still a stubborn one, even at his old age.

He believed that you needed actual strength and ability to take the Stronghold. The Wings of Dawn which he created with his own hands should have been able to take over the young Drizzle Court, which was a mere branch of his sub-branch.

Dream 13 received a beating because of this, but before his wounds could heal, he got another beating.

This was because Tanaris was taken by the Gangnam Royals. This beating was worse than the last because his old man despised this so-called club which was created by the pampered second generation.

Dream 13’s butt was so swollen, he even limped as he walked.

All of Wings of Dawn knew he had gotten a beating. Even the whole server was aware of this.

Thinking about Ruling Sword as the next opponent made Dream 13 curse full of hatred.

It’s not that he actually wanted to strike Grey Valley. He had bid for several holds, and every one of them was about the same price. Originally, he thought that the opponent would be the Gangnam Royals, but if not, even Blood Red War Flag would be okay. Who knew it would be Lu Li’s Grey Valley?

The reason was simple. Everyone thought the Gangnam Royals were easy to bully, so they all went to bid for their Stronghold. As such, the winning price was raised very high.

Lu Li’s Grey Valley was one of the earliest Strongholds, and had been sieged numerous times.

Even Sorrowless came back with his wings clipped. Any fool would avoid looking for death after that. So naturally, there were fewer people who participated in the bidding, and even if they did participate, the bidding price wouldn’t be too high.

Hence, Dream 13 won the right to attack by casually placing a bid.

He felt his glutes start to faintly ache.

“Oh God, I’m already 23 and still getting beaten. How is this humane?”

This time in attacking Grey Valley, Dream 13 decided that no matter what, he had to beat Lu Li. He led the mobilisation meeting filled with rage, and promised that all members who participated would earn a large sum of prize money if they took Grey Valley.

Even though everyone knew how hard it was to beat Ruling Sword, especially since Lu Li had lost very few times since his debut, everyone breathed heavily when they heard the large sum of prize money up for grabs.

“Even if we don’t take the Stronghold, I will still give people rewards per head. As long as you kill someone on the opposing side, there will be money up for grabs. I’m not afraid of you guys killing more. Even if I have to pawn off my pants, I will give as much money as agreed upon,” Dream 13 viciously declared.

“You’re already in the state that you are. It’ll probably hurt more if you don’t wear pants,” Elevenless sighed sympathetically.

“Elevenless, do you wanna die?” Dream 13 nearly cried.

When he got beaten, Elevenless was right beside him, yet he didn’t even help persuade his old man to go lightly. Even though they weren’t biological brothers, they were still cousins who grew up together like brothers. Why couldn’t he have shown more fraternal love?

“Even if the Wings of Dawn aren’t as strong as Glory Capital, they are willing to throw so much money into this battle, so they must have some certainty in winning,” Lu Li observed.

“Yeah where on earth is their confidence coming from?” Azure Sea Breeze was very puzzled. As he looked up to the sky at a 45 degree angle, his mellow voice made everyone feel a little heavier.

“Idiot,” Wandering ruthlessly cursed, “He’s bid for several Strongholds at the same price. Clearly it was a random bid and he’s lucky he got us.”

Azure Sea Breeze angrily retorted, “It was good luck we got the bid?! You’re the real idiot here.”

That contemptuous expression and tone looked exactly like Wandering.

It was indeed not very good luck to have gotten Ruling Sword.

Nine months ago, people in the gaming circle didn’t even know of the existence of Lu Li as a person. Half a year ago many thought that the rise of Lu Li was purely out of luck. Some people even thought that Ruling Sword would be quickly defeated by the Gangnam Royals and Glory Capital.

Evidently, these thoughts were all history.

Lu Li’s name was now famous around the world. Not a single person thought it was because of good luck. In reality, many people knew he was a dark horse.

Ruling Sword stood firm and did not fall after fighting Glory Capital several times, but they had also stealthily gained the upper hand.

Even Sorrowless’ dream lover was a Paladin in Ruling Sword.

Despite the Gangnam Royals being a hard group to defeat, they had also suffered great losses. These were painful lessons that had not been learnt in the past decade.

Lu Li was not easy to deal with!
