The Great Thief

After the Priests had been named, Corrupted Healing was applied on them in addition to their shield and fear resistance abilities. This meant that their healing skills caused damage and applied a damage over time. This means that if any of the Priests healed the Main Tank, the Main Tank could lose a lot of HP.

Fortunately, only one person made this mistake. After Machine Bro stopped, there weren’t any more problems. The Priests were not focused on giving shields instead, and the team relied on the Druids to regenerate their HP.

During this time, the healers were under a lot of pressure because it was easy to lose players. After all, they had brought a greater number of healing Priests into this Instance Dungeon.

“Make sure to prioritise healing the Main Tanks. Everyone should try to take care of themselves and stay alive,” Lu Li had understood that they just needed to keep the Main Tanks and healers alive. Even if they lost their damage dealing players, they could still keep going. However, if they lost their healers and tanks, there was no coming back.

“Mages, you call those Mages? You shouldn’t play with fire!”

The Mages had now been named and this brought another round of obstacles. Not only did they turn into sheep, but they were also turned into frogs, turtles and penguins. The players didn’t know that Polymorph had so much potential.

What if the Main Tanks were Polymorphed?

Lu Li looked helplessly at Azure Sea Breeze who had become a pig. The orderly formation of the whole team had suddenly fallen apart. Even though they had casted Dispel quickly enough and Friend of the World had quickly taken aggro, it wasn’t enough.

They were really unlucky. No matter what kind of team it was, it would have been really difficult to survive those circumstances. In this run, and under Lu Li’s great leadership, they had made good progress. Everyone had begun to have hope that they could earn a victory. Even if they couldn’t beat the whole dungeon, they thought they could at least enter the third stage. However, they didn’t expect to be defeated in the second stage.

“I had once gotten wiped like this too, and it’s not like we can avoid having Mages.” Sky Moon sighed helplessly.

“And he also Polymorphed me into a sheep too,” Azure Sea Breeze added.

“Actually, there might be a solution,” Lu Li didn’t seem phased by that story. He had tried to remember the right strategy, but he couldn’t think of anything. It had been so long since he had learnt it from the books, and he didn’t get to experience it in his previous life.

However, he had come this far and had begun to develop a strong commanding ability. Suddenly, he found a solution. He repositioned all the Mages into the far corner. Deadly Green Orange was the only exception because he was responsible for helping Innocent Child dispel the curses. By maximising the distance between the Mages and the Main Tanks, it reduced the chances of the Main Tanks getting Polymorphed. In fact, this created the perfect circumstance as the Mages would just Polymorph each other.

When they started the dungeon again, Lu Li was much more serious. He already started to instruct the players to use the Machine Dummies in the first stage. These items were not cheap, but they were very useful for absorbing the area of effect skills. These made the first stage much easier.

Anyone who knew Lu Li’s style now knew that Lu Li had warmed up and now meant business.

“Main Tanks, hold the monsters. Everyone else, maintain your positions. Deadly Green Orange, take two steps back and one step to the left; you can still attack from there. Warlocks, stand in front of the Mages. Hunters, move to the right and spread out a little more.”

In the second stage, everyone followed Lu Li’s instructions in an orderly manner.

“Let me show you strength that you are not familiar with!”

The first to be named this time were the Warlocks. These Warlocks would now summon Infernals that would attack the players around them.

“Kill the Infernals first!” shouted Lu Li. They were next to the Mages and Hunters which could deal a lot of damage quite quickly, so there were no problems.

“Nasty Hunters and their toy guns.”

With this line, Nefarian proudly named the Hunters. So, what happened to the Hunters?

The effect was quite terrible. The durability of all their weapons were instantly depleted.

In Dawn, when the Durability of a weapon was depleted, the weapon wasn’t broken but its attack strength was significantly reduced. Moreover, the durability of the weapons remained depleted even after the effect had ended, but there was also an easy solution for this. Lu Li didn’t order anything, but someone had already thrown out the Maintenance Robots.

The Hunters all gathered around, and their weapons were quickly repaired. After all, this was just a game, which meant that repairing equipment was quite simple. They just needed to pay for the repairs, and the System drew money out of the players through the Maintenance Robots. However, the repairs were also really expensive. Although it was just weapon durability, the repairs were at their most expensive when it dropped down to 0.

If they were unlucky, the repair costs would equal to a small fortune.

However, naming the Hunters a few extra times wouldn’t be too bad since the team wouldn’t be placed in danger. It just meant that the team had a reduced damage output. Their pets were still attacking the Boss, so they were still dealing damage even while they were repairing.

“Now!”

In the exact moment that Lu Li spoke, Innocent Child instantly lifted the curse on the Main Tank. Azure Sea Breeze had also started a powerful Damage Reduction Skill in that moment. This was the perfect combo – even if Lu Li hadn’t said anything, Innocent Child wouldn’t have missed it and even if Innocent Child missed it, Azure Sea Breeze still had his skill to support him. All of this was more than enough to deal with the curse.

If they were wiped because of a misplay involving the curse, then these players shouldn’t be called experts.

“I wonder what will happen to the Shamans and their totems?”

Lu Li looked a little pale. The Shamans were quite weak in this Instance Dungeon, it was mainly Sakura Memories. She was responsible for casting Bloodthirst at regular intervals and casting various totems.

After being named, the Shamans would give Nefarian a totem. If they gave him the Windfury totem, Lu Li would be truly terrified for what would come next.

And that was exactly what Sakura Memories did — she put down a Windfury Totem for Nefarian. The effect of this totem was a buff that had a 20% chance of applying a second attack for each normal attack. This meant that your damage output would improve dramatically. The probability of this effect triggering also depended on the level of the totem, and Sakura Memories had raised the totem’s level to five.

Under the Windfury Totem’s effect, melee units also attacked quite quickly.

Lu Li had no time to direct anyone, he just jumped onto the totem and attacked it twice.

However, Nefarian was closer to the totem and managed to get the buff first.

As long as it didn’t attack twice, Lu Li believed that Azure Sea Breeze could withstand it even though its attacks were stronger.
