The Golem Mage

Chapter 406 406: The Tier 5 city... 4.

After being incited by the Priest, The resident of the city all surged towards the city lordʼs house, pelting his door with stones.

Their demands echoed through, as they kept insisting that the demonic human that have entered their city be surrendered to them before further tragedy befell their small community, even the City Lord guards at the front gate of the city lordʼs residence tried different

Efforts to calm the agitated mob, but they were met with aggression, forcing a retreat back inside the safety of locked doors, as the chaos outside grew louder.

--

Inside the house, the clatter of stones reached Alec and the city lord mid-conversation, prompting a pause as the city lord raised a hand for silence, straining to discern the source of the disturbance.

”My lord, a riot is escalating outside as the citizens clamour for your guest,” the head guard reported, bowing respectfully.

”The guards may struggle to maintain control if you do not intervene soon.”

The head guard said, conveying the urgency of the situation that had prompted his swift arrival.

”No matter, I will address the situation and hopefully bring about a resolution,” the city lord assured Alec before stepping outside to confront the crowd.

--

As the city gates slowly opened, the citizens halted their assault, eyeing the city lord warily as he emerged with arms raised in a gesture of peace.

”What is the meaning of this disturbance at my residence?” the city lord demanded, his tone firm.

”Do you not realize the severity of your actions?”

”We demand that you release the demonic human to us, As long as he is handed over, we will have no further issues whatsoever.”

” It is imperative that we eliminate him in order for peace to be restored back in our city, the Priest has already warned of his malevolent killing intent, and as long as he remains unpunished, more lives will be lost just as we lost many good people during the initial infection that ravaged our city,”

Asserted the leader of the merchant association, a Tier 2 Mage, as he was the only one influential enough to speak back, although he may not possess a Tier 3 Mage Realm, but his considerable wealth allowed him to employ two low Tier 3 Mages as guards, giving him the confidence to challenge the city lord openly in this matter.

”Well, he is not a demonic human, and he will not be handed over to any of you, he is an Inner Court student of the War God Mage Academy and should not be harmed by even a single resident of this city,”

” lest we invoke the wrath of the War God Mage Academy upon ourselves,” the city lord retorted firmly in response to the demands of the crowd.

”The demonic creature must have deceived the city lord!, Attack him and rid our city of these intruding demons!”

Rallied the merchant leader, goading the villagers into action and prompting them to launch various Low Tier spells at the city lord.

Even the two Tier 3 Mage guards in the service of the merchant leader joined in the assault, catching the city lord off guard as he had not anticipated the sudden turn of events.

Before the city lord could react or cast a low tier defensive spell , a red-coloured slash streaked past him, intercepting the spells aimed at him.

The slash effortlessly cleaved through the magical attacks, causing them to explode in mid-air like fireworks.

Astonished by this unforeseen intervention, the city lord witnessed Alec mysteriously appearing before him, sheathing his Changdao back into its scabbard.

With his mouth agape, the city lord beheld Alecʼs handsome face revealed as he removed his bamboo hat.

Alecʼs body was enveloped in a fiery red aura, as his innate flame ability had evolved into an active skill that autonomously activated in battle situations, and since Alec could not control it yet he just ignored it.

And that is why it has manifested itself again, swirling around Alec like a red cloud, as his killing intent beginning to take shape behind him in the form of a blade made entirely of pure blood.

The residents of the city, catching sight of the ominous blood sword image hovering behind Alec, felt a shiver run down their spines at the thought of facing him.

Unconsciously, they all took a step back, fear seeping into their hearts as Alecʼs malevolent killing aura filled the air.

”Make way, make way, the demon has revealed his true form and we shall be the ones to eradicate him,” declared the priest, leading the charge as the crowd parted to allow him and the two tier 4 mages trailing behind him to pass through.

”Thank the heavens, the Priest has arrived, the Evil Sect will surely rid us of this demonic presence,” murmured the residents, their grip on weapons and tools loosening as they placed their trust in the powerful mages accompanying the Priest.

With the Evil Sect now involved, victory felt within reach, as the residents sensed the overwhelming strength of the tier 4 mages standing behind the Priest.

Alecʼs brow furrowed as he studied the newcomers behind the priest, he was certain they were not originally from the city, having never felt their aura before.

This only made him realised that the Priest held significant influence, and Alec understood that he would need to leverage this connection to complete his Mission as he still had to uproot all the hidden forces of the Evil Sect.

”Give yourself up to the enforcers of the Evil Sect willingly, or face the consequences from these formidable mages behind me,” warned the Priest, a smug smile on his lips.

Alecʼs response was to extend his hands, summoning three additional golems – as he choose Butcher, Legion, and Oni.

”Oni and Butcher, align with Titan and eliminate those two mages, spare the Priest; I still require information from him, Legion, your duty is to guard the city lord; under no circumstances must any harm befall him,”

Alec issued clear instructions to his golems, his demeanor serene as the city lord watched him conjure more golems, who in turn conjured thee minions.

At that moment, the city lord grasped Alecʼs true strength and understood why he claimed to be the sole representative sent by the academy.

As Alec stood as a solitary force, a one-man army capable of formidable feats, if a team of ten subordinates Tier 3 Mages was allowed to join him ,

The city lord believed that Alecʼs team would inevitably become too overpowered, making them the most formidable squad by default.

And he suspected that the academy would not allow such a scenario to occur.

What eluded the city lord was Alecʼs had been the one to reject the opportunity to assemble a squad, opting instead to rely solely on his own abilities, in bid to let the rest of his golems reach the Tier 3 realm.
