The Golem Mage

Chapter 270: Martial Prowess ( Part 3).

”Alec and his siblings continued their journey, but this time they noticed that Alec seemed absent-minded.

He kept looking at the two weapons strapped to his waist, but his siblings weren’t too concerned.

They believed he must have reached a breakthrough point in his cultivation.

All of them had made progress to the next stage, including Brandon, who initially joined them as the odd one out, with only one element, while they were all Dual elementalist.

But now Brandon had become their highest-ranking Mage, thanks to the fact that he only needed to focus on one element, Earth, and had a peak affinity for it.

The Constant battles and the power stones they recovered also supported his fast cultivation speed.

Only Alec knew all the factors behind Brandon’s excellence.

The other mages saw him as a rare genius, thinking his new cultivation techniques were a perfect fit for him.

This explained his breakthrough, Even Arthur had challenged him, saying he would reach Tier 3 first.

When they saw Alec so focused, they interpreted it as him silently cultivating to surpass them once again.

But once again Alec was too lazy to correct them.

Only he knew what was really bothering him.

As he placed his hand on the hilt of his weapons, he tried to combine his Sword Qi and Sword intent together, attempting to fuse them.

However, each time he tried he always failed, just as he did when he first tried.

He didn’t want to accept the fact that every time he wanted to wield that great power, he would have to summon his Blood Killing Intent.

Although the Blood Killing Intent he had comprehended allowed him to merge both sword intent and sword Qi, it had also slightly affected his way of thinking.

It clouded his judgment and made him somewhat impulsive, as all he could focus on was killing.

Though he had managed to control it to some extent, he wasn’t ready to always leave himself to fate.

Always hopeful that he could gain control over the power of his attacks, Alec searched for a solution.

Despite the fact that the killing intent made him feel stronger and intensified his attacks, he wasn’t willing to lose his rational mind so easily.

He had always been someone who craved control on the battlefield, keeping a calm and collected demeanor that had proven invaluable in leading during the Blood Moon wars as a commander.

Alec only wanted to resort to releasing the Blood Killing Intent, a power he had come to understand, when he was pushed to his limits.

He even felt that the reason the killing intent had such a profound influence on his sword intent was because he had comprehended it after wielding the Blood Changdao.

Lost in his thoughts, Alec was startled when he looked up and saw James standing next to him, with the female Mage from their group taking the lead.

Realizing that he hadn’t noticed James approaching, Alec sighed, realizing how absorbed he had been in his sword.

James inquired, ”What’s bothering you, Alec?”

Alec, still slightly dazed, replied

”Nothing much, just a little theory.”

Laughing nervously, James said,

”Tell me, Trust me, I may not come from an influential clan, but I do know quite a few things when it comes to cultivation, I can even be considered a genius, although not on the same level as Kethra.”

Alec looked at James, who laughed nervously upon realizing his mistake in comparing himself to Kethra.

Evaluating James, Alec responded,

”Hmm, I do believe you’re a talented young Mage, if not There’s no way you would have reached the Mid Tier Mage realm without considerable skill, Your achievements alone speak of your abilities, so I will trust you with what is bothering me.”

Alec then posed his question,

”Can Sword Intent and Sword Qi be merged?”

James paused, caught off guard by the simplicity of Alec’s question.

He had expected more challenging inquiries, particularly about reaching the Tier 4 Mage realm.

Questions like, ”How do you attain Tier 4 Mage status?” and others of similar nature, is what he expected to keep alec bothered

For Alec to ask a question that most mages who underwent sword training in their first year would already know the answer to was surprising to James.

He looked at Alec with a perplexed expression, unable to comprehend how a skilled swordsman like Alec didn’t possess basic knowledge of sword intents and sword Qi.

However, James couldn’t have known that Alec and his siblings had never had any sword lessons, as they were taken under Terran’s tutelage.

The free classes conducted by Instructor Walter were the most informative they had received since enrolling in the academy.

Their main instructor, Terran, had proven to be incapable and showed no enthusiasm for teaching them anything.

If Terran hadn’t been urgently assigned to Latvia City to fortify the War God Mage Academy, he might not have imparted any knowledge to his new students at all.

He didn’t want to form too strong an attachment, but he steeled his heart and provided them with what he believed was essential for their growth as mages.

”Well, it is said that sword Qi is relatively easier to develop if one has proficiency with swords and blades,” James explained.

”On the other hand, cultivating a sword intent is a whole new level, It requires comprehending countless Qi and compressing them to awaken a unique sword intent that aligns with your personal beliefs about the sword, Therefore, the answer to your question is yes, sword Qi can be merged as it forms the foundation of the sword intent, enhancing its power.”
