The Golem Mage

A glint flashed in Dragov’s eyes as he was knocked back a few steps, when he turned to see who was responsible, he noticed a raging wave of energy materializing behind Selene as she walked over.

Though he sensed her power and knew she was at a higher realm than him, but Dragov couldn’t care less at that moment; he was filled with excitement, eager to attack her and unleash his wild side.

But before he could move, a hand gripped his left shoulder, causing his body to shudder and stopping him in his tracks.

Everyone present turned to see who had emerged from the tunnel entrance.

“I apologize for the rash behaviour of my academy’s captain,” said a voice.

“Without further ado, we will excuse ourselves now.” When they looked closely, they saw the entire Bloodline Academy team, and the one restraining Dragov was the co-ordinator of the Bloodline Academy team.

After her brief speech, she didn’t spare the War God Academy or the Battle Mage team another glance; instead, she bowed toward Selene.

“See you later, Hydra Queen.”

“And you too, Bloodline Witch!” Selene replied, their playful exchange of titles eliciting confusion among the teams they were in charge of, who were unaware of the fact that their co-ordinators were even familiar in the first place.

With that, the co-ordinator of Bloodline Academy turned and began walking away, leaving Dragov and the rest of his team behind.

“I’ll be waiting to see how you breeze past me tomorrow, Whitefang.

And please, Gordons, if what you just showed today was your trump card, I’m afraid you won’t be getting your academy back to its former glory,” Dragov said with a calm demeanour, radiating a peaceful aura that left Alec and the others questioning whether he was the same person who had just confronted them moments ago.

Although some of his words seemed pointed and provocative, but Dragov had made sure to deliver them in a way that didn’t offend the War God Academy or the Battle Mage team.

When he was done, Dragov started walking away as Damien smirked at those before him, hands still in his pockets, he was giving out that devilish gentleman vibes with his signature smirk.

He was the one who had gone to fetch their coordinator.

After predicting that Dragov would be blocking the War God Academy team’s way, his sister’s relentless gaze had left him without peace of mind, so he felt it was best to call in the coordinators to ensure Dragov didn’t go wild.

“See you all later!” Damien called out, walking away with the entire Bloodline Academy team, leaving the scene behind.

# At the War God Academy

“Did you see that?

That’s my disciple!” Terran exclaimed, wild with joy, ever since the battle ended, he couldn’t wipe the smug smile that materialized off his face.

Most of the instructors present were perplexed and confused by Alec’s development; they had been too absorbed in the moment of all they were doing to remember that Alec had never been killed all these while.

.

Given that Terran’s previous disciples had often met untimely ends, everyone had assumed Alec would suffer the same fate.

But not only had that never happened, Alec had gone on to represent the school, placing the War God Academy team in the spotlight.

Even the lesser members of the faction were now acutely aware that eliminating Alec would be a formidable challenge, and not just because he was a tough opponent with ever-increasing power, but also because he had become the new face of the War God Academy’s generation.

In essence, Alec had transformed into the academy’s poster boy, a sentiment that everyone unanimously agreed upon, He is not someone who can be easily eliminated without thorough investigation, especially given the potential for him to catch the king’s attention now that he was in the finals.

# At the Gordons Clan meeting Room

All the elders were present, including every high-ranking member of the clan capable of influencing decisions.

The Patriarch, the Grand Elder, the First Elder who managed the clan’s finances, the rarely seen Second Elder, Aileas Gordons’ grandfather.

The Third Elder, who practiced golden bone forging in order to merge seamlessly with his golden golem without side effects; Brandon’s father who is also the Fourth Elder; and the Fifth Elder, the only stout one among his brothers, who specialized in bestial golems.

The sixth elder, who preferred to remain unseen, and finally the youngest elder, Draco, the Lava King of the Gordons clan, were also present.

They had all gathered to watch Alec’s third-round match, and most of them had been complaining about the high cost of the crystal.

Because the mirror crystals used to broadcast the fight had become increasingly expensive as Alec continued to advance in each round.

However, after witnessing his final move against Dorian, a complete silence settled in the room, almost as if a sound-cancellation spell had been cast.

“Those boy’s golems are all at captain rank!” the Patriarch was the first to speak, appearing somewhat shaken, Due to the events of last time, they hadn’t properly watched Alec’s match, nor had they given much thought to his golems.

However, today, all of them demonstrated their skills, catching everyone’s attention.

The Third Elder couldn’t restrain himself and raised his hands to count.

“He truly had eight captain-rank golems, and high-level ones at that!

How is that possible?

I only have one captain-rank golem!” he lamented, but the Grand Elder shot him a pointed look that silenced him.

“You only use one golem, so I don’t understand your complaint.

I’ve got one captain-level golem, and I can recall nearly being thrown out on the streets, begging for money to afford my golem’s evolution,” he replied sharply.

“How do you think that boy was able to reach that level so quickly?

Are the academy’s resources that exceptional?” the Fifth Elder interjected.

“What if we used transformation spells to deceive everyone into thinking we’re teenagers and sneak into an academy just to access their resources?

I fear that if that boy stays in the spotlight any longer, he’ll soon be in the same realm as me, where would the respect be then?” the Patriarch suggested with both hands waving helplessly,

Prompting the Grand Elder to shake his head in disbelief at his brother’s erratic ideas, driven by the potential of a young upstart.

“Even if you employed transformation magic, your bones would remain the same age , and you’d be exposed as an imposter.

Just abandon that notion.

I doubt any academy could support Alec to the extent of evolving eight golems to the captain rank,”

“It’s not possible, number one, as they all follow different paths, and he is still just a mid-rank mage, which doesn’t hold much value for them.”

“Even the wealthiest academies wouldn’t be willing or capable to do so in such a short time Alec had been gone, let alone the War God Academy; they’re broke.

I think this is all Alec,” the Grand Elder stated, prompting the rest to fall into deep thought.

“If that’s true, then he’s truly the best golem genius our clan has had since our father!” the Fourth Elder exclaimed, and everyone present nodded in agreement with his assessment.
