The Golem Mage

”Are you ready to cheer on your favourite academy as they battle in the final bout of the first round?, this match will determine who will stay on and join the other seven elite teams, qualifying as one of the top eight great academies!” The referee bellowed, eliciting thunderous cheers from the crowd.

As they had been eagerly awaiting this match for as long as they could remember, with the showdown between the War God Academy and the Royal Mage Academy being the main event of the First round they were all eager to witness.

”Are you not curious to see if the Royal Mage Academy will truly defeat the War God Academy and secure their eighth consecutive entry into the great eight rankings?” the referee questioned, building up the anticipation even more, as the spectators could hardly contain their excitement,

” or are you anxiously waiting to see if the War God Academy would overthrow the established order and take the Royal Mage Academy’s position among the elite eight academies.”

”Get ready, as the match is about to begin!” the referee announced, signalling the imminent start of the fierce competition.

”Entering from the right corner, we have the Royal Mage Academy! Leading the team is their captain, Liam Tudor, a Peak Tier 5 Mage, followed by their vice-captain, Albert Blaze, a High Tier 5 Mage. Kylian Zero, a Mid Tier 5 Mage. The masked one, a Low Tier 5 Mage. And lastly, Asher Blaze, a Peak Tier 4 Mage,” the referee introduced, each name inciting wild cheers from the crowd.

The popularity of the mages from the Royal Mage Academy was evident, as they were considered the favourite to win among the spectators who reside in the capital.

”This is the main team of the Royal Mage Academy, the only team that appears as a hierarchical realm team,” the referee announced.

”Now, from the left side, we have the War God Academy, currently ranked as the temporary number eight academy,” the referee continued.

”Led by their captain, Alec Gordons, a Peak Tier 4 Mage. Followed by their vice-captain, Beatrice Marionette, also a Peak Tier 4 Mage. Lucas Blade, a Low Tier 5 Mage. Pale Zero, a Mid Tier 4 Mage. And Endrick Gordons, a Mid Tier 4 Mage,” the referee announced, the anticipation in the air growing as the team line-up was being revealed.

But the announcement of the War God Academy’s team left the crowd of spectators in a state of speechless bewilderment, it was difficult for them to comprehend what they were witnessing.

Firstly, the fact that Alec had progressed from the High Tier 4 Mage realm to the peak of the Tier 4 Mage realm in a few days came as a surprising revelation, given the speed at which he had cultivated.

But that was not the only startling aspect, the crowd was also baffled by the revelation that Lucas Blade, a member of the War God Academy, possessed a higher cultivation realm than the team’s captain and vice-captain.

This unexpected turn of events left both the spectators and the members of the Royal Mage Academy astonished, as they recalled underestimating Lucas, deeming him an unremarkable member of the team due to not gaining any of the notable position despite his clan name, now, their failure to recognize his true potential had come back to haunt them.

”I should have known better, given his affiliation with the Blade clan, members of that clan are renowned battle maniacs, however, i still can’t comprehend why the War God Academy decided to position Alec in the forefront as the captain. Is this a strategic move to divert the attention of the opposing team away from their main star fighter?” Liam pondered aloud.

”I’m not sure again,” Liam said to himself.

”From my observations, Alec is undeniably strong, if their intention was to sow confusion, I must admit that it is working remarkably well.” He continued

Amidst the discussions and mumbling, the masked individual focused his gaze intently on Lucas, capturing the attention of all the War God Academy members.

The crowd, too, took note of this peculiar interaction, intrigued by the unspoken undercurrents between the team members.

Furthermore, the audience also noticed that even Pale Zero, who had participated in the previous battle for the War God Academy, had also managed to break through to the mid Tier 4 Mage realm before this crucial match, this unexpected progression caused the spectators to wonder how the War God Academy had been able to drive two team members to such significant breakthroughs in their cultivation within a few days.

Their curiosity heightened as the onlookers turned their attention to the new faces in the War God Academy, eager to gauge their powers and uncover the affinities they possessed, the upcoming match seems to hold the promise of revealing even more surprises.

In the reserved seat for the other participating teams, the seven qualifying teams that had secured their places in the top eight gathered to watch this crucial match. While most of them were simply there to observe the progress of the Royal Mage Academy, the Battle Mage Academy held genuine optimism for the War God Academy.

This optimism stemmed from the fact that one of the daughters of their Dean led the War God Academy team as their co-ordinator.

”I hope your little captain doesn’t disappoint, if he can’t surpass this level, then he should forget about challenging or even competing against my team,” Selena confidently stated, provoking her sister in the VIP section.

Although Selena’s words carried arrogance, there was an underlying recognition of her sister’s team as a true rival, even when others believed they had already lost the match.

”Rest assured, you won’t be disappointed by the performance my team will display, even if we end up losing,” Selene responded, holding her ground.

The VIP section bustled with important figures from influential clans, sects, academies, and even the royal clan, they had all gathered to witness the final match of the first round, ensuring that the top eight great academies remained intact and their investments were not in vain.

Some were even present to scout the next talented mage for potential recruitment.

The referee tossed the coins, and both team captains caught them, as Liam kept his gaze fixed upon Alec, attempting to detect any signs of uneasiness.

However, Alec remained entirely calm, his poker face flawlessly concealing any hint of emotion, making Liam eventually give up on trying to read him through his expressions, realizing he was targeting the wrong person; as Alec was a master of composure.

”With both teams fielding their main line-up today, it is evident that we are about to witness one of the most intense matches of the first round, and since both teams are ready, I hereby proclaim this match, begun! ,” the referee declared.

Alec’s eyes were fixed on the Colosseum as the cover raised once more to cover them, transforming the surroundings into a new forest arena, with both their team Separated on opposite edges of the forest, Alec wasted no time in issuing his commands the moment the flag appeared.

”First formation, go!” Alec’s voice resonated as he stretched out his right hand.

Endrick and Pale swiftly ventured into the forest from the left angle, while Lucas confidently dashed through the right side. Alec summoned Legion, commanding the golem to follow Lucas, and dispatched Magnito to accompany Endrick and Pale.

Having already revealed their capabilities in the previous round, Alec saw no need to hide these golems any longer, meanwhile, Beatrice summoned all three of her puppets and gracefully landed atop her enormous wooden spider puppets head.

As both the human puppet and the crocodile puppet exuded their powerful aura, the crowd became aware that both were Mid Tier 5 puppets.

This revelation surprised them, as Alec’s team, in just one move, had exceeded the Royal Mage Academy in numbers alone.

And this was when they didn’t even take into account of Alec and the two golems that stood alongside him, the spectators watched with astonishment as all the members of Alec’s team entered the forest, Beatrice assuming the central position.

Previously noisy, but the crowd fell into silence, captivated by the battle that was about to unfold before their very eyes.

Alec vaulted onto the roof once again, accompanied by Titan and Oni, as he controlled the earth element particles around him, he fashioned an earth throne on which he majestically settled.

”Now, we wait,” Alec mumbled to himself, using one hand to support himself on the crafted stone throne, as he emitted a regal presence, exuding confidence as the anticipation grew for the crowd.
