The Golem Mage

The mages charged towards Alec with weapons drawn, but he met them with a smile, as the sound of their clanging weapons filling the air.

Alec skilfully deflected their attacks with his Bone Katana in one hand and the Blood Changdao in the other, he had summoned the Bone Katana from his space ring.

But despite the cracks on the Bone Katana, Alec had remembered Zack Gordons’ words that it was a weapon that would evolve alongside him, and he was only starting to believe this due to something he discovered recently, so he knew it won’t just spoil that easily.

While the Bone Katana’s durability paled in comparison to the Blood Changdao, his recent revelations from the Golem technique manual that is passed down among the Gordons patriarchs suggested that Alec could enhance its strength.

And that is why Alec remember Zack’s words, making him have confidence in the Katana’s potential.

Watching from a distance, the priest observed Alec’s impressive combat skills, as it felt it would be nearly impossible for the mages to land a hit on him.

Alec appeared to have eyes in the back of his head, as he effortlessly evaded attacks without even tapping into his elemental powers.

Although the Priest assumed Alec wasn’t using his elements, Alec had been strategically setting traps with his earth element since the beginning of the fight.

By subtly manipulating mana currents in the ground with his legs, Alec lured his opponents closer to him by disguising his own mana reserves was low.

Meanwhile, he used the mages to train his mental abilities, that’s why no attack or move aimed at him within the 16-meter radius could catch him off guard.

He could detect the attacks, defend against them, and even repel them before they reached him.

The lack of anyone with superior speed among the Deacon group allowed Alec to remain in their midst, facing all attacks without a scratch, much like a lion surrounded by zebras.

Although he had left many of them with lethal strikes, but he had not killed any other mages since the two he had swiftly dispatched earlier.

[Low Tier Spell – Gravity Surge]

Alec planted his right leg forward, as he sheathed both the Changdao and the katana, before he unleashed a powerful surge of gravity, knocking back all attackers.

With enough space now, he quickly began making hand signs and cast another spell before slamming his hand, covered in earth mana, onto the ground.

[Low Tier Spell – Trap Formation – Spikes]

A sly smile crossed Alec’s face as the mages, who had managed to get back on their feet and were approaching him, were met with a cruel fate.

One misstep over the previous mana sigil he had stored in the ground resulted in a massive earth spike rising from the ground, impaling their legs and rendering them motionless in pain.

This fate befell ten of them, causing the remaining mages to halt in their tracks, unsure of where the next trap lay.

Only Alec who casted the spell could see the subtle mana signals on the ground, allowing him to toy with them.

With a quick movement, Alec lunged for the mage closest to him, unsheathing the bone katana and stabbing it into the mage’s skull, instantly killing him.

As he did so, Alec retracted the red Salamander gauntlet on his right hand back to its tattoo form before cutting his hand with the katana still embedded in the mage skull.

The mages who were still unable to walk gasped as the realised Alec casted another spell that made the spike developed a clamp a that held their legs down.

The remaining seventeen mages rushed towards Alec in anger, and two more mages met the same fate of being impaled by the spikes after stepping on the wrong spot.

Alec seemed unconcerned as he stomped his legs again, sending debris of rock flying towards them until he was done with what he wanted to do.

”With the blood of i, a Gordon descendant, I make you a bounded weapon to me Alec Gordons,” Alec spoke in an ancient language he had seen in the golem technique manual.

And the Bone Katana seemed to hum to his words as a flash of light appeared around its body.

[> Ding!, New bounded weapon acquired.]

[> Bounded weapons are able to grow with the user.]

[> Bone Katana (low Tier weapon)
