THE GOD EATER

In this case, they saw the Supreme Metac of the Devouring Pathway weave a Branch Metac into existence by sacrificing some of the law fragments that it controlled in the Blessed Heaven World. Such a thing couldn’t escape the perception of the Dao Lords.

As they watched, they saw the lightning user pick the ring from his face and slip his finger into it. Nothing seemed to change about the lightning user, though. The change didn’t appear until the lightning user activated his Lightning Speed Metac again.

They could see everything about the lightning user from head to toe, so they knew that as a Rank 2 mortal, his power output with that Metac should have been Dao Status(2) * Rank(2) * Stats(Body(2) + Mind(2)) * Metac(Lightning Amplifier(2) + Lightning Speed(2)) * Skill(1 + 200%), which is 192 units.

But because of the silver ring, the lightning user’s power became Dao Status(2) * Rank(2) * Stats(Body(2) + Mind(2)) * Metac(Lightning Amplifier(2) + Lightning Speed(2)) * Skill(1 + 200%) * Domain Power(192), which is 36,864 units.

Apparently, a new factor had appeared in the sequence of the production of power, and it directly squared the lightning user’s power.

This factor was the Domain Power, and it raised the power output by exactly 192 times. The worst part was that the energy usage in the mortal was negligible. So the extra 36,672 units of power were free.

When the lightning user activated the Lightning Speed Metac, he expected his speed to increase from 2 units to 192, which is a 96-times boost. But his speed increased 18,432 times. So his figure flashed forward, and he smashed into a tree.

He was caught off guard by the speed boost, causing the collision with the tree. The collision made the tree sway and his vision swim.

Fortunately, that short burst had carried him far away from his pursuer, so that he had time to recover from the disorientation. But he didn’t even need to worry about his pursuer because the death cultivator was now frozen in shock.

”What the fuck just happened?” both the lightning cultivator and death cultivator asked themselves and each other at the same time.

Unlike the death cultivator, the lightning cultivator had a way to find the answer to his question. He had the Power Identification Metac, and it was active the whole time, so he saw the exact calculations for power production.

With the calculations laid bare for him, the effect of the Domain Power Metac was laid bare for him. And even if he didn’t trust the Power Identification Metac anymore, the effect of the Domain Power Metac was obvious without it.

No matter how distrustful he was of the Power Identification Metac, he couldn’t deny the power boost he just received. Not even his enemies could deny it.

Most importantly, the effect of the Domain Power Metac was free of charge, so he had nothing to lose using it. When all of these facts dawned on him, the lightning user smiled.

As he smiled, he stood up from where he had fallen and turned back the way he came towards the death cultivator. Then he said, ”I have something I want you to test for me.”

The death cultivator said nothing. He just turned around and took off.

The lightning cultivator said nothing. He just raised his hands and pointed his finger at the fleeing enemy. Then he activated the Lightning Arrow Metac with the Lightning Amplification to produce a blue lightning arrow that shot from his finger in the direction of the death cultivator.

The power and speed of the lightning arrow were the same as the previous speed boost at 36,864 units. In comparison, the Rank 3 death cultivator was producing power at Dao Status(1) * Rank(3) * Stats(Body(3) + Mind(3) + Energy Threads(50%)) * Metac(Blood Wing(3) + Blood Amplifier(3) + Blood Escape(3)) * Skill(1 + 300%), which is 702 units.

This level of power was top-of-the-line for a Rank 3 cultivator. If not for the fact that the Four Directions Sect no longer possessed the Supreme Metac for his pathway and couldn’t raise his Dao Status, he would be much stronger.

Even so, with his output at 702 units, he wasn’t something a Rank 2 cultivator could mess with anyhow. Yet, the attack of this Rank 2 enemy easily caught up to him, pierced through his body, and incinerated him.

It was a one-hit kill. He was a great and powerful Rank 3 cultivator, yet he was cut down in the prime of his life like an ownerless dog. The pitiful sight stunned the lightning user for a while. Then the lightning user burst out laughing.

”Ragnarok! What have you done now?” Black Chain asked with a mix of anger and exasperation.

”Isn’t it clear?” Loki said smugly. ”I just produced irrefutable proof that the Olympic Sect is the greatest sect in the Sea of Worlds.”

”How did you do it?” Tepid Scholar asked in genuine curiosity.

Loki looked at the Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect like he was looking at an idiot. Then he ignored Tepid Scholar and went back to work.

Usually, mortals went to the sect grounds to buy new Branch Metacs. But Loki couldn’t afford to wait for mortals to risk spending their money on something that appeared to be too good to be true when their trust in their sect was at an all-time low.

He knew he wouldn’t spend money on something that looked like a scam, sold by someone who had already scammed him before. So instead of waiting for his disciples to go for the Domain Power Metac, he brought it to them.

Of course, he didn’t give all of his disciples the Domain Power Metac. After all, they cost lifespan to make the way he made them. His plan was to disseminate the Domain Power System into his sect by giving the Metac to a select few.
