THE GOD EATER

One of them shouted, saying, ”It is a miracle.”

Another one raised their voice and cheered, ”Praise be to the Apex God.”

Uprooting a mountain and draining a sea didn’t count as a miracle to these tribal people. After all, these were things sufficiently powerful cultivators could do.

They understood how someone became strong enough to smash a mountain to pieces. But they didn’t understand how three rank 1 cultivators had suddenly become younger.

”This should be impossible,” The tribal chief said in disbelief after examining the three cultivators for signs of foul play.

”Mortals can’t increase their lifespan,” he said stubbornly. ”How did you do it?”

In response, the unicorn shook her head and said, ”It is not me who did it. It is the Apex God. They are the Apex God, and nothing is impossible for them to do.”

”And if you think I’ve played a trick, take these and use them on others without my knowledge,” she said as she handed him more golden seeds.

”You will find that as long as anyone uses these as their Core Metacs and breakthrough, they will gain more lifespan. The lifespan they will gain is dependent on their cultivation and the amount of lifespan you had when you advance to rank 2.”

”From rank 1 to rank 2, you will gain 50% of your lifespan at the moment you advance. From rank 2 to rank 3, you will gain another 50% of your base lifespan. You will continue to gain 50% more at rank 4 and rank 5 too.”

”That’s a total of a 200% increase to lifespan. Doesn’t that mean we mortals can live as long as 600 years now?” the tribal chief asked with a hitched voice.

Her response was to put her palms together and bow as she said, ”That’s the maximum benefit that one can earn once you switch your pathway.”

”The minimum amount of lifespan you will get is 10% of your lifespan, and it is for those who are too close to their deaths and whose base lifespan is too low to earn something greater than 10% of their nominal lifespan. That’s the benevolence of the Apex God”

The tribal chief still didn’t believe her completely because what she was promising was simply too good to be true. So he took the golden seeds and went to test them out in secret.

This period of testing took up to five days. By the time it was over, the tribal chief could only say, ”It is a pity that it is too late for me to switch my pathway.”

As it turned out, this statement became the norm over the coming days as this cultivation system continued to spread throughout the tribe.

The mortals were clearly smitten, but even the Dao Lords were also convinced. Especially when the Will of the World said, ”The increase to their lifespan is very real. It isn’t an illusion to trick the mortals.”

Having just learned something about this a while ago, Loki couldn’t believe his eyes and had to ask, ”Isn’t this method of converting mortals to one’s pathway the foundation of forcing the world to accept your pathway? Are we being invaded?”

This question made Sword Maestro say with regret, ”Since you already know how to invade worlds, it seems I won’t be able to earn that money or Supreme Metac from you.”

”It seems you’re screwed,” Heavenly Eye said to Martial Will. ”At this rate, your Sect will be uprooted from your own Domain.”

”Not my watch it is,” Martial Will said stubbornly.

No one seemed to bother to answer Loki’s question. All of the Dao Lords either ignored him or spoke about other matters.

Only the Will of the World responded to him, saying, ”Indeed, we are being invaded.”

Then it said to Heavenly Eye, ”And what’s got you happy about all of this? Can’t you see that we’re being invaded? This is a problem for all of us.”

Over the past few days since the unicorn arrived, more envoys with different pathways had arrived in the Blessed Heaven World. They entered the Blessed Heaven World from every direction, preaching about the goodness of their pathways and converting mortals.

There were more than ten different pathways already, and all of them were offering to increase the lifespan of their mortals.

The problem wasn’t a pandemic localized to the Blessed Heaven World either. Every super world and large world in the Sea of Worlds was being invaded like this. The more they saw about the matter, the more worried the Dao Lords became.

”On the levels of benefits alone, these new sects beat us,” Sword Maestro said with a grim expression on his face. ”No matter how powerful our pathways are, there is no way we can compete with granting mortals more lifespan.”

”With the ability to bestow lifespan like this, we will lose any attractiveness to mortals. In the long run, we will become obsolete in the Sea of Worlds.”

The Will of the Blessed Heaven World nodded in agreement and said, ”The mortals from rank 1 to rank 2 account for about 89% of the total cultivators. If I add mortals that can’t cultivate, the proportion of mortals that they can convert increases to 99.9%.”

”In comparison, there are currently a total of 23 pathways in the world. So the threshold for a forced anchoring is 4.35%.”

When Tepid Scholar heard this, he said with a heavy heart, ”If these Gemini people are allowed to continue, they would surely be able to convert 4.35% of the total population that they need.”

”Therefore, it is certain that they will win if this is allowed to continue. The question is, what do we plan to do to stop them?”

Loki wasn’t really concerned about sharing a world since he was now a Mountain Lord who finally has an avatar that can use the total Domain Power of his true body. What he was more concerned about was how the Gemini were granting lifespan and how to copy it.
