THE GOD EATER

Time Traveler’s voice was deadly serious as he said, ”Until you swear both oaths, I won’t give you any information or assist you in any way. In fact, I will kill you here and make sure that you don’t return.”

Then he asked, saying, ”What do you say to my conditions?”

A normal person would reply with, ”What are the oaths?”

It is normal to ask for what they have to agree to before they agree to anything. But Loki was not going to behave like a normal person.

He already knew what the oaths were and didn’t have any intention to agree with the second one. However, he wanted to be reasonable, so he tried to convince Time Traveler first.

He said, ”What if I swear not to tell anyone about you and give you a lot of world essence for the information? Will that be enough?”

After he asked this question, he used the Power Identification Ability to check Time Traveler’s situation and make sure that there were no changes he should know about.

He was doing this just in case Time Traveler decided to be unreasonable and reject his offer. So he was preparing for a possible fight.

When he saw that the only thing that had changed about Time Traveler was the absence of the Future Self Metac, Loki relaxed slightly and became more confident.

On the other side, his question had stumped Time Traveler a little bit. This was because Loki’s request was reasonable.

However, being reasonable was not enough to put his mind at ease. He wanted perfect certainty and nothing less.

The main thing that made him hesitate slightly was the danger he perceived from Loki. The threat he sensed made it a bad idea to pick a fight with someone who was being so reasonable.

After deliberating on the matter for a while, he thought, ’As long as I can send him off peacefully, I can move the location of my Cave Heaven. I’ll just use the lifespan I get from him to restart my time loop somewhere else. No matter how dangerous he is, he won’t be a danger to me if I move and he loses track of me.’

So he said to Loki, ”As long as you swear an oath not to reveal my existence and location intentionally and are willing to pay an upfront amount of 1,000,000 years of lifespan, I will answer your questions and let you go.”

Inwardly, Loki sighed in relief. He was relieved that Time Traveler had decided to be reasonable, as this meant that he would be able to eat his cake and have it by getting the answers he wanted as well as the Time Loop Supreme Metac.

On the surface, Loki nodded calmly as he said, ”That sounds doable.”

To show how amiable and unproblematic he was, he immediately made the oath, saying, ”I swear on my Dao Heart that I will never intentionally reveal your location and your existence to anyone. If I do so, may my Dao Heart Shatter.”

”I also promise to pay an upfront of 1,000,000 years of lifespan. I will even pay any additional fees as long as it is justified and I am satisfied.”

After he made the promise, he took out most of the world essence that he had gained from the Cave Heaven of the divine beings he sealed and killed, like Money Body and Dragon Transformation.

Time Traveler took the world essence, which was in the form of a golden rock, from Loki’s hands with the power of his mind. He pulled the world essence over to his star body and swallowed it.

Seeing that his payment had been accepted, Loki asked eagerly, ”So can we begin? I have a lot of things I want to know.”

In response to his question, Time Traveler said, ”Before we can begin, you must also swear an oath to leave after I answer your questions. You must swear not to attack me or damage my Cave Heaven.”

Immediately, Loki heard this, he roared inwardly and thought, ’Oh my god. Why do you have to be so difficult to deal with?’

’This is exactly what you did the last time. You made me make one innocent promise before you jumped the second one on me. This is a bait-and-switch tactic. It is not fair.’

’You’re really like your brother. Both of you like being stubborn and difficult.’

Of course, he doesn’t plan to swear that oath. But if he doesn’t swear it, he would have given Time Traveler the 1,000,000 years of lifespan for nothing. This displeased him immensely.

Someone who is innocent and came for a fair exchange of information for lifespan wouldn’t complain like him. After all, if he didn’t have any nefarious plan, he should be able to swear this second oath and get the information he wanted.

But he was up to no good, so it can be said that what Time Traveler did was justified. Now, he has to decide whether to drop the civil facade or continue being polite and swear the oath.

Time Traveler had already tensed up and was preparing for battle after he made his second demand. He was now looking nervously at Loki, waiting for his decision.

Actually, he didn’t initially plan to make that second demand. In fact, the first demand he made was to gauge Loki’s strength through his wealth.

Loki was supposed to say he couldn’t afford the 1 million years of lifespan that he was asking for. Then they would negotiate on an acceptable price. In the process of negotiating, he would be able to tell how strong Loki was based on how much lifespan Loki had.
