The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1965 Sent To Help

Despite their assertion that the Green Dragons mellowed with age, Karl did notice that when she sat back down, Skadi was on her lap, and the two were talking about the forest in quiet voices that wouldnʼt distract from the conversation.

So much for not getting sidetracked.

The man chosen as spokesman took over the conversation. ”Now, as we were saying, this team has been assembled from the battlefields second and third string fighters to come reinforce the branch. We all have some sort of crafting skill, plus relatively low combat power and potential for Darklight Host members.”

He paused, and Karl winked at him. ”So, what youʼre saying is that youʼre all unlikely to become Legends in the near future. I might not be too well versed in the Darklight Hostʼs other branches, but I know what the favour of the World Dragon can do.”

”Itʼs good that you understand. Yes, weʼre all a few hundred or a few thousand years from Legendary, even under optimal conditions.

Our paths were not the most optimal, so weʼre not going to qualify for another Class Change for some time, no matter how many skills we learn, and we didnʼt get any growth rate bonuses.

With our crafting skills, we would all be considered well above average for this world, but on the Divine Battlefield? We were essentially reservists, only called out when a situation called for all hands.

Are you familiar with the Divine Battlefields at all?”

Karl nodded. ”We have one more Supreme with us who was once on the Battlefields. Her faction was eliminated, and she was thrown between planes to end up here. I knew her when she was young, so I took her into the Guild when we met again.”

”Oh, so youʼre a collector,” one of the mages announced.

The other Supremes chuckled and Karl shrugged. ”Yeah, you could likely say that. Beasts, friends, shiny objects. I do tend to collect interesting things.”

”Did you go the harem route? I sense a faltering Soul Bond, but I canʼt tell if itʼs because the imbalance in growth rates is too great, or because the other party is dead.”

Karl inspected himself. ”It feels fully intact to me. My Dana Mage is very much alive, and my only wife.”

”Then, youʼve likely just matched the power level of the spell when it was cast on you. Soul Bonds are permanent, but ...” she gestured at him, ”When theyʼre cast on Avatars, unique constitutions and such, they can be unstable. Even the System struggles to balance the two parties when their species are too different.”

”So, it will break?”

”Probably not until one of you reaches Supreme Rank. That jump is a big one, and it will likely break to prevent harm to the weaker partner. But weʼre getting off track again. Louie, explain the situation to him for us.”

”We will have plenty of time to catch up later.

Alright, I will start with the essentials. I am Louie, Vampire by species, and a Blood Knight. The synergy between species and class is very good, but I found out later that it really does put a cap on growth because itʼs not a top-tier class, but the System doesnʼt see anything else as being a better option.

I specialize in Architecture and fortifications, including defensive arrays.

I know thatʼs an odd one for a warrior type class, but I have the [Blood Array Master] Trade Skill, and itʼs quite effective at making battlefield arrays, for obvious reasons.”

Karl nodded. ”When you set the Darklight Host loose on a battlefield, there is a lot of blood involved. For someone who makes arrays with it, a major battlefield is practically an all you can use mana buffet.”

Louie laughed, and his eyes shifted from black to blood-red.

”Exactly. With my limited class potential, Iʼm not a first string fighter, but I excel in battlefield control and group support skills. The Blood Arrays can also be used in crafting, but the weapons that it makes tend to be a little particular about their user.”

Then he gestured to his left at the Green Dragon. ”That is Oak, sheʼs a Shaman, as you know, and like your Naga Matriarch, sheʼs also an Alchemist. That tends to be a Shaman or Druid specialty, and we also have a Pill Master with us.

Thatʼs a specialty of Alchemy, though she can still do the basics.

Andrea, stop hiding and come out. Andrea is a Succubus, a Void Stalker assassin by class. Her Alchemical abilities are not to be underestimated, but if you have spies or an intelligence network to train, thatʼs where she really shines.

Then, we have Leon. Our resident prude, and Runemaster.”

Leon rolled his eyes, and glowing white wings extended from his back.

”Iʼm not a prude, I just believe in standards and decorum. No self-respecting Seraphim would be involved in the level of debauchery that you are.”

”Leonʼs combat skills are solid, as a Holy Crusader, even if his personality leaves much to be desired. Personally, I think that heʼs just upset that did a few undercover missions with Andrea.

Very Tsundere.”

The Seraphim looked like he might actually stab the vampire for a moment, while the Succubus laughed.

”Itʼs a Seraphim and Demon thing. Donʼt mind them, they are actually friends.” Oak explained, as she brushed Skadiʼs hair.

”That brings us to me. My name is a bit difficult to pronounce, but I normally go by Sam. Donʼt be concerned if my appearance changes, Iʼm a Doppelgänger, and I get bored with looking the same all the time.

I am an Arcane Archmage by class, and a Planeswalker by trade. I specialize in interdimensional travel and portal arrays.

Thatʼs likely less valuable to you than to nearly any other branch, but normally, my status would be quite high.”

Karl laughed as the Doppelgänger pouted.

”Itʼs a wonderful skill to have, especially when we have a Chaos Badger around. She often sees potential for profit or incoming threats that are not easy to reach by conventional means.”

”And finally, I am Luminaria, white dragon and Druid. I am a Divine Botanist by trade, sent for the obvious reason. You canʼt do much if you donʼt have the resources, and I specialize in making them possible.”

Karl turned to the last few people lounging against the wall. ”I see that there are four more people, but Luminaria says that she is the last, does that mean youʼre not staying?”

The four Supremes all laughed at the same time and shook their heads.

”Weʼre not members, weʼre Leonʼs summoned Bodyguards. Seraphim Warriors. Think of us as hired muscle when things get tough.”
