The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 401: Chapter 357: Feed for the Demonic Beasts

”Your noodles are ready! Take your time, everyone!”

A moment later, Xiaowu came over carrying their bowls of clam noodles.

He placed one in front of each of them and spoke with a smile.

Lin Yi and the others thanked Xiaowu.

They all dug in.

The clam noodles here were delicious, and the portions were generous.

They were especially rich with clams.

Unlike back in the Old District, where a bowl of noodles would be all broth and noodles with just a few empty shells.

The group sat there, surrounded by all sorts of snacks.

They were having a blast.

Young people, after all, always love to eat all sorts of junk food.

Even Lin Yi couldn’t suppress the smile on his face as he ate the snacks before him.

He laughed and chatted with Wei Nan and the others, looking incredibly happy.

After more than half an hour, they had devoured everything they bought.

Only then did they leave the night market, satisfied, and head back toward the hotel.

The nights in Jingzhao City were brilliantly lit.

Dazzling lights illuminated the city, making it as bright as day.

Public Security officers walked the streets in squads.

There were also people in special combat gear, holding firearms as they patrolled.

On the bustling streets, police cars could be seen weaving through traffic from time to time.

The public order in Jingzhao City gave people an unprecedented sense of security.

They made their way back to the hotel.

Lin Yi, Qin Zhaoxue, and the others returned to their respective rooms.

For them, these few days in Jingzhao City were no different from a vacation.

They had already made plans on the way back.

Tomorrow morning, they would set out to visit some of Jingzhao City’s famous tourist attractions.

Ever since coming to the New District, they had never been this relaxed.

Every day at school was just cultivation, cultivation, and more cultivation.

Especially after the setback in Jail City, Wei Nan and Zhou Qi had doubled down, immersing themselves in their training.

Now, nearly a year had passed, and they had all improved.

Their realms and martial skills had all grown.

Although they couldn’t compare to a monster like Lin Yi, at school, they were considered quite talented compared to the other students.

Now that they were in Jingzhao City and couldn’t leave just yet, they might as well stay and explore, have some fun, and experience the local culture.

For Lin Yi, Wei Nan, and the others, this was a rare opportunity to relax.

But beneath the brilliant lights...

...there were always dark corners.

In these corners, scenes of gore, violence, and slaughter were always playing out.

Even in places with the best security,

the occurrence of such evil was hard to prevent.

In a narrow alley filled with filth, grease, and mud,

a nauseating stench filled the air.

A faint scent of blood was mixed in with the stink.

In a dark corner,

a CHOMP... CHOMP... sound could be heard intermittently.

It sounded like something was chewing on something.

To be able to eat in a dark, stinking alley like this...

...was clearly not the work of anything good.

WHOOSH—

Suddenly, the sound of something slicing through the air shot forth.

It flew straight toward a dark figure in the corner.

Just as the dark figure sensed the danger and whipped its head around...

THWACK—

An arrow pierced straight through its eye.

It went right through its head, and blood gushed out.

It didn’t even get a clear look at its killer.

Its body swayed a few times before collapsing heavily to the ground.

Only then did several people walk into the alley.

Three men and a woman. They didn’t even glance at the demonic beast that had just been killed.

Instead, they walked up to an iron door and looked up.

A burly, well-built man, holding a cigarette between two fingers, took a few deep drags.

”Are you sure those men in black are hiding here?”

Doubt flickered in the burly man’s eyes.

The woman glanced back at him, her gaze cold.

”Our latest intel says this is a feeding warehouse for the Blood Handprint!”

”It’s also where they provide food for the demonic beasts they’re raising...”

The burly man nodded, tossing the cigarette from his fingers into a nearby puddle.

He then drew a massive blade and said, ”Since it’s confirmed, what are we waiting for? Let’s just rush in and take them out!”

”Old Mo, contact our guys at the Public Security Bureau right now. Get ready to move!”

Mo Yanfeng, standing beside him, nodded.

He raised his wrist and spoke a few words into his watch.

The next moment, the burly man raised the massive blade high.

CLANG—

The instant the giant blade struck the iron door, sparks flew.

It left a deep gash on the surface.

The woman glanced at him, then stepped forward and grabbed the handle.

The door swung right open.

The burly man: ”...”

Mo Yanfeng couldn’t help but chuckle. ”Captain Chu, next time you’re on the job, try using your brain a little more. You have to pick the right time to show off!”

Chu Zhengxiong: ”...”

The three of them walked straight through the iron door.

Instantly, a much thicker stench of blood hit them, so strong it almost made them gag.

The smell was like walking into a slaughterhouse.

The sickening, coppery odor filling the air made it almost impossible to breathe.

But none of the three said a word.

They moved on tiptoe, afraid of alerting anyone inside.

They alternated between holding their breath and taking large gasps of air.

After walking about ten meters down a dimly lit corridor,

a huge warehouse suddenly appeared on their right.

They peeked through a window.

What they saw made their hearts leap into their throats.

On each of the tables, a person lay flat on their back.

They were lying there, completely naked, and no longer breathing.

Beneath each table was a large bucket, and blood was DRIP... DRIP... DRIPPING into it.

Their blood was clearly being drained.

”These bastards... What are they doing?”

When Chu Zhengxiong saw the scene, the fury he had been suppressing could no longer be contained.

Fortunately, he hadn’t lost his senses. His voice was extremely quiet.

Still, an echo came back.

The woman said nothing, and Mo Yanfeng’s face was cold as he watched it all.

Inside that warehouse, there were dozens of corpses.

What was even more detestable was that most of the bodies were children.

Mainly middle and high school students, both boys and girls.

They all lay there peacefully, their faces deathly pale.

Clearly, they showed no signs of life.

Just then, a slight noise came from inside the warehouse.

Soon, several figures in hazmat suits appeared.

They were dragging two boys out from an inner room.

The two boys looked to be high school age.

They were both unconscious, allowing the figures to place their bodies on the tables.

Then, heavy shackles were fastened to their hands and feet.

Next, their clothes were stripped off.

As one of the figures took two buckets and placed them under the tables,

preparing to bleed them like the others...

WHOOSH WHOOSH—

Suddenly, two arrows shot out silently.

The people in hazmat suits didn’t even have time to react.

THUMP THUMP—

The arrows slammed into two of them.

They coughed up blood, and their companions froze on the spot, stunned.

It all happened so suddenly, they were completely dumbfounded.

None of them could process what had just happened.

But in that moment of hesitation, several more arrows shot out,

sending the rest of them to their deaths...

Chu Zhengxiong gave the woman a thumbs-up.

’Taking out five people, just like that, without a sound. Her archery is flawless, and she’s perfectly clear-headed. Not even a place like this could shake her composure. Making those shots with such accuracy... that’s not something an ordinary person could do.’

If this were any other time, Chu Zhengxiong would have definitely started praising her loudly.

But today was different. He didn’t say a word.

He walked straight inside.

He and Mo Yanfeng moved the bodies of their assailants aside,

and after placing them on the tables, they moved the two unconscious students off.

After they were done, Chu Zhengxiong and Mo Yanfeng headed deeper inside.

Chu Zhengxiong held his giant blade, and Mo Yanfeng held a long staff.

They moved forward cautiously, afraid of making too much noise and disturbing the people deeper in.

”How many are left?”

”Seventeen or eighteen, I guess. Doing this shit every day, how much bad karma are we racking up?”

”Cut the fucking crap. Just do what the higher-ups tell you to do!”

Suddenly, they heard a few people talking up ahead.

Chu Zhengxiong and Mo Yanfeng exchanged a look.

They quickly hid themselves on either side of the corridor.

A moment later, a loud RUMBLE echoed out.

Two people appeared, pushing a cart.

On the cart were several more unconscious students.

They were all wearing different school uniforms.

Clearly, these students came from different schools.

Maybe even different cities.

Just like before, the cart was pushed to a stop in front of some empty tables.

Several people in hazmat suits lifted them off one by one.

They were arranged neatly on the tables. Just as they picked up scissors, preparing to cut off their clothes...

...Chu Zhengxiong and Mo Yanfeng appeared silently behind them.

Before they could react,

Chu Zhengxiong’s greatsword had reaped their lives.

The men didn’t even have a chance to scream before their short lives ended.

Chu Zhengxiong went forward and held a hand under the students’ noses to check their breathing.

A flicker of relief passed through his furious eyes.

He then nodded to Mo Yanfeng, indicating that the students were still alive.

They moved them off the tables one by one, propping them up against the base of the wall.

Now wasn’t the time to rescue them.

’There might be more students held captive inside.’

So, the mission for Chu Zhengxiong and his team tonight was to rescue these students and prevent them from becoming feed for demonic beasts...

The warehouse was huge, and the stench of blood was so overpowering that Chu Zhengxiong and the others couldn’t smell anything else.

The acrid smell flooded their minds.

The deeper they went, the more horrified they became.

After passing through the first warehouse, they came to a second one.

This one was a cold storage unit.

As soon as they entered, they saw bodies, drained of blood, hanging upside down from iron hooks.

Like freshly slaughtered pigs.

Seeing this,

it wasn’t just Chu Zhengxiong; even Mo Yanfeng could no longer suppress his rage.

These people were worse than animals.

To do something so utterly depraved...

But, in order to completely dismantle this place,

they swallowed their anger and continued forward.

The temperature in the cold storage was very low, and blasts of cold air washed over them.

After crossing through the cold storage, another iron door appeared ahead.

Chu Zhengxiong and Mo Yanfeng exchanged a look.

A single glance was enough to understand each other’s intentions.

Mo Yanfeng took a few steps back to the side, while Chu Zhengxiong reached out, grabbed the handle, and pushed it down.

The iron door opened a crack, and Chu Zhengxiong peeked inside.

What met his eyes were rows of iron cages.

Inside each cage were students in school uniforms.

Their eyes were vacant, their expressions dazed.

No one was crying, no one was making a fuss.

They all sat there quietly, like lambs to the slaughter.

As Chu Zhengxiong pushed the door open and walked in,

he saw some people inside, sitting around eating, drinking, and playing cards.

The moment they noticed Chu Zhengxiong,

they all turned to look at him suspiciously.

”Hey? Who are you?”

one of them yelled.

This immediately drew the attention of the others.

They all turned to stare, their gazes hostile.

Chu Zhengxiong held his massive blade, his sharp gaze fixed on them.

”One, two, three, four, five, six, seven...”
