The dragon's harem

Chapter 2290: Arad’s Hibernation II

A bit earlier...

It’s just been a few hours since Arad went into hibernation, and all of the maids were extremely busy. They were running all over the place, making sure the place was clean, getting food ready, and preparing rooms, since most of Arad’s wives who didn’t stay home were coming back, mainly people like Kali, Kossuth, and some others.

One of the maids rushed through the hallway. She had to hurry. The clothes in the laundry room had been sitting there for a while, and she had to get them out. But as she was running across the hallway, she suddenly hit the floor and froze.

^Did I trip on my own legs? Did I slip? No, that can’t be...^ She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t move a single muscle, and was leaking from down below, feeling her entire body getting crushed from the inside out.

But then, a foot landed beside her head, and she felt much better, albeit freezing cold. ”Stand. Are you still alive?”

As the maid tried to stand, she could feel that her entire body hurt, but that didn’t matter. What horrified her more was that she had loaded her pants, and in front of Gamond no less.

As the maid tried her best to stand, Gamond turned to look at the door beside them. That one led to Eris’s room, ”It’s not your fault. Eris is leaking murder divine magic. It’s not much by the scale of her power, but enough to kill regular people. I’ll handle her.”

The maid quickly ran away, and Gamond went into Eris’s room to deal with her. Soon, the maid reached the washing room and looked down at herself. Her face was burning bright red, and she growled. ”Why...”

She reached up toward the washing room’s large golden cabinet and tapped it. A screen of magic showed up. She pushed a few buttons and then tapped it.

A minute later, a second maid showed up and looked at her. ”What’s going on...” She looked at the hallway, saw it, and sighed.

”What did happen?”

”Lady Eris is leaking Murder Divine magic, and I almost got killed by it.” She looked down. ”As embarrassing as it looks, can I get some help?”

The other maid nodded. ”Is it safe around her room?”

The maid shook her head. ”I don’t know. Lady Gamond said she would take care of it.”

”Got it, I’ll get the vampire maids to handle cleaning the hallway.” She reached toward the magic screen and tapped on it a few times. ”Good, they are coming. For now, I’ll help you. I’m sure you can barely move now.”

The first maid giggled with an embarrassed face. ”I’m really sorry. I did run all the way here when my blood was still hot, but now... I can’t even move my legs.”

The second maid smiled. ”It’s nothing. Come with me.”

As the vampire maids got the notice, a group of ten of them moved toward Eris’s room. They didn’t know which maid smeared the floor, and they didn’t care anyway. All that they cared about is that they have to clean.

It didn’t take the ten of them more than ten minutes to turn the hallways spotless again. But as they worked, they could indeed feel it coming out of Eris’s room, an endless and deadly flood of Murder Divine magic.

They could understand it clearly; their Vampire Goddess was frustrated, sad, and agitated beyond belief. If any of them tried to talk to her now, she’d probably rip their heads off.

The only two who could talk to her were probably Zia and Capsella, and those two are busy. But luckily, someone else is handling Eris now: Gamond. They could feel her cold magic seeping with the divine magic, and they could only pray that the two inside doesn’t start fighting.

That was uncommon; Arad’s draconic wives were notorious for starting fights among each other. They talk with their fist and claws better than they do with their mouths. Especially Gamond and Balina; those two always fight in the bath. It’s not even a great draconic fight; those two usually limit themselves to a near-human level, so the maids just have to watch two naked women swinging at each other like wild cats.

The problem here is that Gamond and Eris aren’t necessarily fighting over who gets to sleep with Arad, or who ate the last piece of cake. It’s probably a much more serious problem; otherwise, Eris wouldn’t be leaking Murder Divine magic.

As they were leaving, the room’s door opened up, and Gamond walked out. She looked at the vampire maids cleaning the floor, bent down, checked their work, and nodded. ”Good Job. Can one of you go and bring me my tools? As you can feel, Lady Eris isn’t feeling that well. I’ll treat her a bit.”

One of the vampire maids nodded and rushed away as fast as she could, the other just stared at Gamond for a second. ”Is she... okay?”

They know she fought Vorvadoss; they know she lost; they know she looks mostly fine, but they don’t know if that’s the truth or if she is hiding some huge wound.

Gamond shrugged. ”There are levels to depression. She lost, but didn’t just lose. She couldn’t even see Vorvadoss move without Sena’s help, and even still, got defeated with a single swing when Linda and Luminous stopped protecting her. To a goddess and a drakaina, that’s a massive blow to her pride.”

The maids paled. ”Vorvadoss... is that strong...”

But Gamond smiled, rested her fists on her large hips, and grinned. ”But Arad violated that bastard. I heard from one of the angels that Vorvadoss split into several clones, and Arad just cut those clones in half and arranged them neatly.”

The maids gulped. ”Arad... is that powerful?” One of the maids then added, with a sweaty face. ”And he is now going to get even stronger...”

”Exactly, do you think someone like Kali, a Demon Goddess of Destruction, would be submissive to someone who is conventionally powerful? Just think about it. Kali can summon all of the abyss, untold billions of demons, and here she is shaking her butt to Arad. If you’re smart, even a bit, you’ll know that messing with Arad is a bad idea.”

At that moment, the maid returned with her tools, so Gamond took them. ”All of you, go to the church of blood and bring a fresh Carafe of Arad’s blood.”

The maids looked at each other for a second. ”We lower-ranking Vampire Maids aren’t allowed to touch the Blood Lord Relics... just the smell will drive us insane.”

”Then find someone who can bring it. And if they tell you that they are busy, tell them that they’ll be really busy with my foot up their asses.” She then waved her hand. ”Go!”

Back at the Church of Blood, they reached the pedestal and found her. Mary, the Priestess of Blood, was there, naked and kneeling in front of the massive draconic banner.

”Lady Mary, we came with a request from Lady Gamond.” As one of the vampire maids approached, Mary moved and slowly turned her head to look at them.

”Does it concern Eris’s current state?”

The maids nodded, so Mary stood, and ten nuns immediately rushed in with her clothes. As they started dressing her up, a fully armored paladin rushed in. She knelt in front of Mary. ”Did you call for me?”

”Yes, keep praying in my place. I’m going out.” The Paladin nodded and stood, and another ten nuns rushed in to help her take off her armor and strip.

When the nuns got Mary to wear all of her clothes, she signaled for the vampire nuns to follow her as they headed deeper into the church.
