The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 785: “Let’s Get Out of Here.”

A long time ago, Shien saw a statistic online. According to this statistic, when two or more children were present in the same place, and they had a good relationship, the probability of chaos erupting was about 73%.

Shien didn’t know how this probability was calculated, but he now understood what “chaos” meant.

“Y-You’re… Lilith, the Evil God?”

“The strongest Evil God…”

“So amazing! Skuld likes amazing people!”

In Shien’s room, or rather, Shien and Airi’s room, the three little goddesses surrounded Lilith, who looked bewildered. But the three goddesses, seemingly not noticing this, gradually became more and more boisterous after confirming Lilith’s identity.

“Can I call you Lilith? You can also call me Skuld!”

“Hey, Skuld, don’t be so rude! Lilith is a goddess born ten thousand years ago, much older than us. We have to be respectful!”

“Then… then should we call her Lady Lilith?”

“But she looks about the same age as us. Calling her ‘Lady’ is too formal, Norn!”

“I think you’re the one being too casual! Idiot!”

“Wuwuwu… Verdande is angry again…”

“Yes, always getting angry, that’s why everyone thinks you have a bad temper, Norn.”

“I… I don’t have a bad temper! It’s you… you… aaaaaah! I’m so angry!”

“Wuwuwu…”

The three little girls chattered around Lilith, one laughing, one angry, one crying, their personalities distinct, creating quite the commotion.

At least, Airi, who was woken up by the noise, was in a bad mood.

“Why did you bring these three annoying brats here?” she asked Shien, her face filled with displeasure.

“Do you think I wanted to?” Shien himself was also annoyed. If it weren’t for these three little girls clinging to him like noisy little tails, he wouldn’t have brought them into the room.

And then Yulin also came with Lilith, naturally becoming the target of the three goddesses’ attention.

“So those are the Three Goddesses of Time?” Yulin asked, looking at the chattering little goddesses, “Are you sure they’re not just three idiots?”

Shien was speechless. He also thought they were three idiots.

Unfortunately, these three idiots were indeed the Three Goddesses of Time.

“Although I’m also unwilling to admit it, these three are indeed the Three Goddesses of Time,” Airi said, rubbing her eyes, still sleepy.

“Alright,” Yulin accepted this fact, then asked, “I heard that as a trinity goddess, their combined power can even rival a Demon Lord, and they even fought Kamina to a standstill a thousand years ago. Is that true?”

It was natural for Yulin to be doubtful. Not just because of their childish behavior, but also because she could tell that although these three were Limit Level experts, on par with her, even their combined strength couldn’t defeat a Demon Lord, let alone a lower-level transcendent being like the Goddess of Life or the Goddess of Nature. Therefore, Yulin was skeptical, thinking that individually, they were probably weaker than her. Three of them being able to fight a Demon Lord was a joke.

However…

“Don’t underestimate them. Their power is actually quite formidable,” Airi said, giving an objective assessment.

“As Goddesses of Time, they jointly govern the concept of time, capable of manipulating spacetime and even traveling through it.”

“Although they’re only at Limit Level individually, with their power over spacetime, they can even defeat Hartley, who possesses [Ice Prison].”

“Each of them is stronger than ordinary Limit Level beings, and together, they can completely control the flow of time, past, present, and future.”

Only such goddesses could rival a Demon Lord. It was normal for Kamina to be unable to defeat them.

Shien also knew that appearances could be deceiving, and these three little girls, once merged into the complete Goddess of Time, were a true Transcendent Level being.

However…

“I feel like even an ordinary person could easily trick and defeat them with a lollipop,” Shien couldn’t help but say.

“…”

“…”

Both Airi and Yulin were silent, unable to refute him.

At this moment, Lilith, also seemingly annoyed, squeezed out of the three goddesses’ encirclement and ran to Shien, burying her head in his chest.

“Don’t go, Lilith! Let’s be friends!” Skuld shouted, chasing after her without hesitation.

“Stupid Skuld! I told you to be more polite!” Verdande shouted, also chasing after them.

“D-Don’t leave me alone…!” Norn, seeing her two sisters running off, followed like a frightened child.

The three gathered before Shien, chattering non-stop to Lilith, occasionally arguing amongst themselves, filling the room with noise.

Shien felt like hundreds of ducks were quacking in his ears, making him dizzy.

“…I’m going to sleep in Sister Lid’s room,” Airi said, unable to bear it any longer, and left.

“I’m going to spar with Graty and Beauty!” Yulin, sensing the danger, also spread her wings and flew out the window.

“Wait…” Shien wanted to call out to these two who abandoned him, but his voice was drowned out by the chattering.

“The Dragon Demon and that strong dragon girl left!” Skuld said, seemingly wanting to follow them.

“Don’t follow them, Skuld! If you get lost again, we’ll be in trouble!” Verdande immediately stopped her, her reason incredibly powerful.

“I… I don’t want to go. The Dragon Demon is scary, and dragons are scary!” Norn shook her head vigorously.

The three little girls then started arguing about whether to leave and explore.

Shien and Lilith exchanged glances.

Then, Shien said,

“Let’s get out of here.”

“Mm-hmm!” Lilith, still the emotionless nodding machine, nodded repeatedly, faster than ever before, telling Shien that this innocent little goddess was also annoyed.

So, Shien, carrying Lilith, began to tiptoe out of the room.

Unfortunately, he was discovered in the end.

“Aah! Norn! Verdande! The Hero is running away!” Skuld, full of energy, was the first to notice, pointing at Shien as if she had caught a criminal.

“Wait! Why are you running…!?” Verdande looked over, stunned, seemingly not understanding why Shien was sneaking away.

“Huh? Huh?” Norn was completely at a loss.

Seeing this, Shien was silent for a moment, then ran without hesitation.

“Don’t run, Hero!” Skuld shouted excitedly.

“You… you’re being monitored by us!” Verdande also shouted anxiously.

“Waaaah… waaaah…” Norn was still confused.

In the next second, the three of them ran out of the room, chasing after Shien.

…

At the same time, Kamina also emerged from her room, walking alone down the corridor without her subordinates. The demons passing by bowed respectfully upon seeing her, but their eyes were filled with fear, and they quickly distanced themselves, even avoiding the path she had just taken.

Kamina’s expression remained unchanged, seemingly accustomed to this. After all, she was the Poison Demon. Even her breath could contain deadly toxins, capable of instantly killing a Legendary-level expert. Naturally, no one wanted to approach her, let alone touch her. They even avoided the path she took, not wanting to be accidentally poisoned.

Kamina, understanding this, wasn’t bothered.

However, her thoughts weren’t as calm as her expression suggested.

(They’re all cowards, even afraid of the path I’ve walked on.) She disdained them.

Normally, she wouldn’t care.

However, since meeting Shien, she couldn’t help but think,

(Even a human dared to hug me. The difference is truly vast.) The image of Shien casually hugging her that day was still vivid in her mind.

(I wish someone so interesting would appear in our Demon Race.)

This thought made her slightly distracted, causing her to not notice the rapid footsteps approaching.

“Hmm?” Just as she was about to turn a corner, Kamina sensed something amiss.

But it was too late to react.

“Bang—!” With a loud crash, three figures collided with her.

“Ah!”

“Ouch!”

Cries of surprise and pain rang out simultaneously.

Chapter 786: The Ancient Nemesis

“Ouch!”

At a corner of a corridor on the top floor of the Supreme Castle, Skuld fell on her backside, her forehead reddened from the impact. She clutched her head and rubbed her bottom, tears welling up in her eyes.

Kamina also fell, even harder than Skuld. However, being taller, Skuld’s head hit her body, causing Kamina pain, but not a reddened forehead like Skuld.

“S… Skuld…!?”

“Are you okay!?”

Norn and Verdande, who had been running slightly behind and thus avoided the collision, rushed to help their younger sister.

“Wuwuwu, it hurts…” Skuld, her eyes still teary, rubbed her forehead, like a child who had bumped their head.

“Honestly! I told you not to run so fast!” Verdande scolded her.

“S-Sorry…” Norn was about to apologize to the person Skuld bumped into.

At this moment, Kamina, also clutching her chest in pain, looked up to see who dared to bump into her so forcefully.

Their eyes met.

In the next second, both sides’ eyes widened.

“It’s you…!?”

“The Poison Demon!”

“Kamina!”

The Three Goddesses of Time instantly recognized their old nemesis.

Kamina naturally also recognized these three idiots.

“What are you doing here!?” she asked, standing up abruptly, her expression darkening as she looked at the three goddesses.

This couldn’t be helped.

A thousand years ago, these two groups, representing the highest combat power of the God Race and the Demon Race, clashed fiercely, each the other’s strongest opponent in that war. At that time, to cover the Hero’s advance towards the Demon King, the Demon Lords were intercepted by the top experts of the God Race and the Human Race.

Sara and Shafney were stopped by Lildas, the Goddess of Fate, considered the strongest goddess.

Lid was besieged by the Thirteen Heroes.

Millu fought a world-shattering battle against Artemis, the Goddess of Justice.

Airi was intercepted by the Goddess of Life and the Goddess of Nature.

And finally, even Kamina herself was stopped by the three-in-one Goddess of Time, engaging in a fierce battle that lasted until the Demon King was slain and the war ended.

That battle was no less intense than Kamina’s recent fight with Lilith. In fact, it was even more dangerous. After all, it was a life-or-death battle on the battlefield, unlike the fight between Kamina and Lilith, where neither intended to kill the other. Therefore, if Kamina’s hostility towards Lilith stemmed from a competitive spirit, then these three goddesses were her true nemeses.

After the Demon King’s death, Kamina deeply resented these three sisters. If it weren’t for them stopping her from reaching the Demon King, perhaps, with her support, the Demon King wouldn’t have been defeated. With this thought, Kamina’s hatred for them was bone-deep. If she hadn’t chosen the path of peace and still wanted revenge for the Demon King, she would have definitely targeted the Three Goddesses of Time first.

This showed Kamina’s feelings towards them.

Naturally, the three goddesses also held animosity towards Kamina.

“B-Bad person!” Norn said weakly.

“To actually run into you here…” Verdande’s face was filled with vigilance.

“What are you doing here?” Skuld asked, turning the tables.

“Me?” Kamina sneered, as if finding it ridiculous, “This is the Demon Realm, the central facility of our Demon Race. Is it strange for me to be here?”

It was their sudden appearance in the Supreme Castle that was strange.

“Could it be that you’re the goddesses big sister mentioned a while ago, the ones who caused the passage to the Demon Realm to collapse and who can take him to God’s Canyon?”

Kamina finally realized this. Indeed, if it were these three, they could help her big sister find God’s Canyon.

In that case…

“Did big sister bring you back?” Kamina asked bluntly.

Unfortunately, the Three Goddesses of Time didn’t answer.

“Who said we were brought here?” Verdande asked, slightly indignant, “Couldn’t we have come here ourselves?”

“Y-Yeah!” Norn peeked out from behind Verdande, echoing her sister. They didn’t want to reveal their embarrassing experience before their nemesis.

But…

“We didn’t get lost!” Skuld blurted out.

“Skuld!”

“Idiot!”

Norn and Verdande were speechless.

“So you did get lost, and big sister brought you here,” Kamina sneered, as if having seen through everything, “As expected of the most childish and immature goddesses in the God Race. You’ve embarrassed Nadue.”

Kamina’s mockery infuriated the three sisters.

“D-Don’t insult Goddess Nadue!” Norn shouted, mustering her courage.

“We’re not childish! Only Skuld is childish and immature!” Verdande also exploded. She always considered herself the most mature and intelligent of the three and had always sought Nadue’s approval, seeing her as a role model. Being called childish by Kamina naturally angered her.

Only Skuld was still struggling.

“We really didn’t get lost, Norn, Verdande, right?” she asked, turning to her sisters for support.

But then she realized something.

“Why do I feel like I’m being unfairly blamed?” Poor Skuld tilted her head in confusion.

Kamina naturally knew these three goddesses’ personalities.

She curled her lip disdainfully and said,

“Whether you got lost or how you got here has nothing to do with me. But bumping into me, how are you going to compensate for that?”

As she spoke, a potent, poisonous aura began to emanate from her, swirling around her like miasma. Although perfectly controlled, the slightest leakage was enough to fill the air with deadly toxins. Even Transcendent Level beings would find such poison troublesome.

The three sisters, however, except for the timid Norn, looked indifferent.

“Sever!” Verdande even extended her small hand, her fingertips glowing.

“—!” The poison in the air, as if frozen in time, instantly vanished, not destroyed, but the time of its existence erased. Verdande, using her power over time, had severed the duration from its creation to its spread, making it as if it never existed.

The other two goddesses also used their powers.

Norn reversed time, making the poison itself regress and disappear.

Skuld accelerated time, diluting the poison’s toxicity until it dissipated.

The three goddesses, representing past, present, and future. Therefore, without merging or joining forces, each could control a different aspect of time. Only by combining past, present, and future could one control time completely.

In the past, they used this power to suppress Kamina’s poison.

“Tsk…” Seeing her carefully crafted poison so easily dispelled, Kamina clicked her tongue. Why did these three idiots possess such powerful abilities?

The three goddesses didn’t know what she was thinking. They only knew that after a thousand years, this Poison Demon was attacking them again.

“Poisoning us again?” Verdande asked, displeased.

“Do you want to fight?” Skuld asked directly.

“W-We’re not afraid of you!” Norn said weakly, her words lacking conviction.

But this only angered Kamina further. She wasn’t known for her good temper, and now, provoked by these three idiots, her actions were predictable.

“Fine,” she said coldly, “Let’s settle the score from a thousand years ago.”

Saying this, a terrifying toxicity emanated from her entire body.

“Here she comes!”

The three sisters were startled, then, without hesitation, they held hands, and a colorful light erupted.

“Boom!” A corner of the ceiling on the top floor of the Supreme Castle exploded, and a colorful figure and a purple figure shot out.

“Rumble…!” The world trembled under the impact of their power.

“What’s happening?” Countless people were awakened by this commotion.

“Hmm?” Shien, running away with Lilith in his arms, also noticed this and froze.

“What happened?” he asked, confused.

“?” Lilith also tilted her head in question.

They exchanged glances, then, without hesitation, hurried back.

A good show was about to begin.
