Chapter 728 727: War of Words Unleashed, Strategies of Alliance and Division

In Sakiʼs Storage Ring, Ye Chen found a special item that felt metallic even though it appeared like cloth.

This was a common item on the Celestial Essence Continent, used for establishing contracts during negotiations between various parties.

Ye Chen took it out, and it was filled with dense information, all about the alliance terms among the Demon Race, the Situ Clan, the Holy Fist Sect, and the Celestial Demon Sect.

Of course, these were just preliminary drafts, not finalized, as they involved multifaceted interests and each party had objections.

Ye Chen read through all the terms, a cold smile curling at his lips.

Form an alliance? Dream on!

This time, no matter what, he had to nip their alliance in the bud!

With the Demon Race Great Saint being led away and no one in the Celestial Demon Sect able to see through his disguise, Ye Chen immediately pushed the door open.

”Your Highness Saki, where are you headed?” Two Demon Race guards remained at the door, and one immediately stepped forward, asking quietly.

”To meet with the people of the Situ Clan.”

”Situ Li?”

Ye Chen sneered, ”Situ Clanʼs Second Elder is nothing but a shrew, not worth my time. Iʼm going to find Situ Wenhai!”

Although the Celestial Demon Sectʼs Great Guardian Li Qing wasnʼt trusted by Sect Leader Liu Qing, he could still access some basic information.

Situ Clanʼs Situ Wenhai was a true direct descendant.

The previously killed Situ Guang and his brother, although direct descendants, were on the periphery.

Situ Wenhai, however, was a direct line descendant of the Patriarch Situ!

”Your Highness, you represent our Demon Race here, your status on par with the top powerhouses of the Celestial Demon Sect, Holy Fist Sect, and the Situ Patriarch. Itʼs beneath your status to meet with Situ Wenhai; if you have business with him, I can fetch him to you.”

”Thereʼs a human saying, condescend to learn from the virtuous. I feel Situ Wenhai is decent and worth investing some chips on.” Ye Chen casually mentioned. ”Lead the way now!”

The two Demon Race guards immediately nodded repeatedly.

...

In a secret chamber at the residence of Celestial Demon Sectʼs Great Guardian Li Qing.

”What exactly does Ye Chen want to do?” Li Qing stared at the hidden Tian Bugui in the chamber, his tone filled with anger.

Tian Bugui shrugged, ”How would I know? Great Guardian, as youʼve seen, that kid is so arrogant, he doesnʼt care even if Iʼm the Hall Master of Bright Hall.

Besides, if you want to know what Ye Chen is up to, just keep an eye on his movements, and let me know when you find out.”

Li Qing twitched his mouth, ”If I knew where he was, would I be this angry? Heʼs disappeared now, and Iʼm afraid things might spiral out of control!”

Tian Bugui: ”Disappeared?”

Li Qing: ”He was lurking near the residence of that Demon Race Prince Saki and then vanished.”

Tian Bugui muttered, ”Itʼs probably fine. If he were discovered, there would be some commotion within the Celestial Demon Sect. This shows heʼs hidden well; if we donʼt know where he went, others would find it equally hard!”

Li Qing: ”... Youʼre just going to stay this calm?”

”What else can I do? Rush out to look for him? Iʼd probably be killed by Liu Qing the moment I stepped out.”

Tian Bugui said, ”Anyway, Iʼve come to terms with it. If the sky falls, tall ones will hold it up. Shi Fengchun from the True Martial Hall is not a good person; heʼs intervened in this matter, so Ye Chenʼs safety should be assured.”

...

Within the Celestial Demon Sect.

In the area where the Situ Clan resides.

Pretending to be the Demon Race Prince Saki, Ye Chen directly asked to see Situ Wenhai.

Although the Situ Clan was strong, their strength lay in top-tier power, and a lack of manpower was a common issue for such Hidden Clans.

Therefore, in this alliance negotiation exploration, the Situ Clan wasnʼt very aggressive.

The most aggressive, on the contrary, was the Demon Race.

Because the Demon Race has nothing to worry about. If they want to fight, they gather; if not, they return to the Demon Cave.

Theyʼve been around for hundreds or thousands of years; getting out is naturally great; if not, they donʼt mind staying in the Demon Cave.

This is why the Demon Race only sent one prince for negotiations!

The strong-acting Demon Race representative Saki came to see Situ Wenhai, and Situ Wenhai naturally dared not delay for a moment and came out to greet him.

Situ Wenhai wasnʼt old, but he had a mature face and sported a beard.

”Your Highness Saki, what brings you here?”

Ye Chen looked at Situ Wenhai and got straight to the point, ”Second Elder Situ Li of your Situ Clan is just a shrew, with no view of the big picture, an idiot!”

Situ Wenhai: ???

This Demon Race prince started scolding the Second Elder as soon as he found him—what kind of strategy was this?

”Your Highness Saki, how did the Second Elder offend you?”

Ye Chen snorted, ”During the negotiations, I was inclined to get closer to your Situ Clan, yet she kept aligning with the Celestial Demon Sect. Iʼve made it clear, although itʼs an alliance, we the Demon Race donʼt want the Celestial Demon Sect to benefit too much, given how many wars theyʼve waged suppressing the Demon Cave! Your Situ Clanʼs top power can completely crush the Celestial Demon Sect; youʼre just lacking in manpower.

Draw closer to us, the Demon Race, and you can achieve the same goals.

Now, the era has changed.

In the Eastern Domain, hundreds of races have entered, and our Demon Race is among them. A close cooperation between the Situ Clan and Demon Race wonʼt breach any taboos!”

Situ Wenhaiʼs eyes flickered.

Ye Chen continued, ”Youʼre a core direct descendant of the Situ Clan, but this Situ Li isnʼt from your line, right?”

”No,” Situ Wenhai replied.

”I thought so. I particularly get along with you, but Situ Li makes me sick at first sight,” Ye Chen said, ”Sheʼs just a big-chested, no-brained idiot!”

”Your Highness Saki... The Second Elder isnʼt big!”

”Ahem!” Ye Chen choked a bit; this seemingly mature Situ Wenhai also wasnʼt a good type, eyes squinting when talking about this topic.

”Situ Wenhai, Iʼve laid it out for you. We the Demon Race donʼt want the Celestial Demon Sect to benefit too much. If the Situ Clan is willing to cooperate, thatʼs great, everyone wins. If not, Iʼll talk to the Holy Fist Sect. The Holy Fist Sect is in the weakest position in these negotiations and would surely be eager to draw closer to us, the Demon Race. By the way, thereʼs something I might as well tell you. Situ Liʼs desire to align more with the Celestial Demon Sect might not be a good thing, probably not even for the Situ Clan.

During negotiations, I noticed her and Sect Leader Liu Qing of the Celestial Demon Sect exchanging glances, a pair of adulterous lovers, filthy and shameless!”

Since they were all enemies, Ye Chen cursed fluently.

Situ Wenhai: ”... I didnʼt expect Your Highness Saki to master our human language so well.”

Cursing this long without pausing, Situ Wenhai felt he himself didnʼt have the expressive ability that Demon Race Prince Saki had in the human language!

”During wars with the Celestial Demon Sect, I got used to cursing out loudly,” Ye Chen waved it off, then said, ”Situ Wenhai, do you want to cooperate with me? Be straightforward; nod if you do, or Iʼll head to the Holy Fist Sect myself!”

Situ Wenhai: ”Your Highness Saki, may I have some time to consider?”

Ye Chen looked at the two guards stationed not far away, ”Guide me to find Guo Tao from the Holy Fist Sect!”

Situ Wenhai gritted his teeth, ”Your Highness Saki, we will cooperate. I have the authority to revoke Situ Liʼs negotiating power!”

(For gift support!)
