Supreme Devouring God

”My Buddha beads!”

Jing Kong saw his own Buddha beads still inside the giant skeleton’s body.

Instantly, he was overjoyed and shouted, running over.

Qin Chen meanwhile walked towards the exposed segment of the Golden Stick.

Only when he got closer did Qin Chen realize how long the Golden Stick was, a full nine zhang long, its entire body wrapped in very intense golden light.

At the same time, Qin Chen could feel an extremely terrifying power within the golden light.

This golden light is definitely not ordinary light.

At this moment, Jing Kong, having reclaimed his Buddha beads, walked over.

He also saw the Golden Stick, his pupils froze for a moment: ”This... this is...”

He suddenly quickened his pace, arriving in front of the Golden Stick, observing closely.

Qin Chen raised an eyebrow: ”Do you know what this thing is?”

”Let me think, I seem to have seen this somewhere before.”

Jing Kong squinted his eyes, beginning to recall, suddenly his gaze sharpened: ”Golden Buddha Stick!”

”Golden Buddha Stick? The name indeed fits this item, do you know more about it?” Qin Chen asked.

”The Golden Buddha Stick is the Magical Treasure of the Golden Buddha Abbot from Golden Buddha Temple; how could it appear here? Could it be that after the Golden Buddha Abbot passed away, he was buried here?”

Jing Kong’s eyes were filled with confusion.

”And who is the Golden Buddha Abbot?” Qin Chen inquired.

”My master’s master, the founder of Golden Buddha Temple.” Jing Kong replied.

”Master Zangqing’s master?”

Qin Chen’s heart immediately tensed.

No need to say, Qin Chen could tell just from the deduction how terrifying the Golden Buddha Abbot mentioned by Jing Kong truly was.

Then, could something left by such a powerful figure be ordinary?

Clearly, it’s impossible!

”Since this item was left by the Golden Buddha Abbot, you should take it.”

Qin Chen originally had his eyes on the item, but upon hearing this, he immediately let go of his interest.

Allowing Jing Kong to take it could be considered returning it to its rightful owner.

Jing Kong shook his head and said: ”That’s not necessarily the case; in Buddhist Sect culture, the most emphasized concept is ’fate.’ Any matter, any person, any item, all adhere to this word.”

”If one has no fate with this item, no one can take it.”

”Just like my Buddha beads.”

Jing Kong took out his Buddha beads: ”This item is called the Golden Buddha Divine Bead, its origin is even more ancient than this Golden Buddha Stick; once, my master and a few Buddhist Sect cultivators attempted to interact with it but failed.”

”Later my master told me that on the very first day I was born, these Buddha beads found me, discarded at the foot of the mountain.”

”In the unseen world, everything has its destined course.”

Qin Chen nodded.

Jing Kong said: ”Let me try first; if I can’t, you give it a shot.”

”Alright.”

Qin Chen nodded again.

Jing Kong then walked towards the Golden Buddha Stick, his gaze somewhat serious yet hopeful.

Then, he placed his hands onto the Golden Buddha Stick.

No anomalies appeared.

Jing Kong attempted to lift the Golden Buddha Stick.

But, no matter how much force he used, the Golden Buddha Stick remained immovable.

Just like a mountain.

After a while, Jing Kong shook his head, gave up: ”I have no fate with it; this item is not mine, Qin Chen, you try it.”

Qin Chen’s eyes slightly focused, walking towards the Golden Buddha Stick.

He placed his hands on the Golden Buddha Stick, the intense golden light enveloping his hands.

To Qin Chen’s surprise, the golden light, which seemed to contain terrifying power, was remarkably gentle.

He closed his eyes, gently exerted force, attempting to lift the Golden Buddha Stick.

However.

Just like Jing Kong before.

The Golden Buddha Stick remained immovable, seemingly heavier than a mountain.

Qin Chen opened his eyes, a bit of helplessness between his brows.

Does this item also have no fate with him?

However, he did not immediately give up and prepared for a second attempt.

Such a Strange Treasure, if Qin Chen could acquire it, he would undoubtedly gain tremendously, and naturally, he wouldn’t give up easily.

But, just as Qin Chen prepared for his second attempt.

Little Fairy’s voice resounded in his mind.

”Activate the God Devouring Crystal, give it a try.”

”Isn’t that cheating?” Qin Chen hesitated for a moment.

”Cheating? What do you mean cheating? Everything has its destined course; if truly unsuccessful, not even gods can help.” Little Fairy said.

Qin Chen was startled, feeling Little Fairy had a point.

”Buzz!”

Qin Chen activated the God Devouring Crystal.

The God Devouring Crystal shivered slightly.

Qin Chen tried to lift the Golden Buddha Stick again.

The first attempt yielded no movement, but Qin Chen immediately exerted force again.

”Boom!”

This time.

The originally immovable Golden Buddha Stick was suddenly lifted half a meter high by Qin Chen.

Jing Kong’s eyes widened suddenly: ”Qin Chen, you have hope!”

Qin Chen, too, was a bit excited and exerted force for the third time.

”Boom!”

This time, the commotion was even greater than before.

The entire giant skeleton’s body shook violently.

The nine-zhang-long Golden Buddha Stick was held in Qin Chen’s hands.

Qin Chen gently waved it, the golden light swirled in the air around him, unexpectedly possessing some beauty.

”Did I succeed?”

Qin Chen was somewhat taken aback.

”Congratulations!”

Jing Kong congratulated him from the side.

”But how exactly is this item supposed to be used? I don’t think it qualifies as a Primordial Artifact.” Qin Chen said.

”After we get out, ask my master; he probably knows.” Jing Kong said.

Qin Chen nodded, then placed the Golden Buddha Stick into the God Devouring Crystal’s space.

”This giant skeleton consumed everything indiscriminately; maybe its body contains other items; let’s investigate!”

Qin Chen proposed.

”Good idea!” Jing Kong agreed.

The two immediately began to search throughout the giant skeleton’s body.

From a distance, it looked like two tiny, ant-like figures walking over a massive skeleton frame.

Their search indeed yielded valuable finds for both Qin Chen and Jing Kong.

Of course.

These items were all from the Buddhist Sect.

The strangest item belonged to Qin Chen—a wooden stump.

This stump seemed to come from an unknown tree, half-a-meter in diameter, completely black, exuding a strong sense of withering and death.

Most importantly.

The middle of this stump bore the character ’Five.’

Its meaning remained a mystery.

After unsuccessful research, Qin Chen stored it in the God Devouring Crystal’s space.

He glanced across the Underworld, yet Little Strange remained unseen, leaving him somewhat frustrated.

”Let’s proceed outside first.” Qin Chen said.

At present, Qin Chen could only venture outside and ask Master Zangqing about all the secrets of this place, perhaps uncovering clues to find Little Strange.

However.

As soon as Qin Chen and Jing Kong returned to Jing Kong’s secret location, a small white beast leapt towards Qin Chen.

”Big Brother! Where did you go?”

This small white beast, who else could it be if not Little Strange?
