Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1126: The Past, The Present, and The Future

“As for the law itself… it is the embodiment of your power. It is what describes you. Your power… your existence… that is law.”

“You can understand the law as you condense your power, so I won’t have to explain it to you because everyone’s law is different. However, there are two steps that you want to begin with when creating your law.

“The first one is rules. You need rules to bind yourself. The stronger the binds, the stronger your law is.

“For example, one of my rules when condensing this Law of Fear is to not give any kindness to others. I am neutral. I can become good or evil depending on the circumstances.

“However, even when I become good, I can’t give you kindness, such as things that can help you. At the same time, if I become evil, I can’t give you mercy such as pardon or merciful killing.”

Nathan raised his hand. “So, this information is not considered kindness?”

“No. It is my mission.”

Nathan roughly understood what a rule was. The information might be beneficial to them, but this information was something he gave because of a mission. It wasn’t a kindness to them, but a negotiation item. Both of them had different meanings.

Still, the rules were similar to what Mae had revealed previously. The rules were their chains. The stronger the chains were, the stronger they would become.

For Fenrir, it would be the Law of Strength. Jinwu definitely had the Law of Sun. Since they should describe it in one word, it would be better to use a noun to define it.

One could cultivate the same law, but their interpretation might be different. In fact, even if one thousand people cultivated the same law, there would be one thousand different laws.

“Can you only cultivate one law?” Nathan asked. This question was obviously for Evelyn. After all, she was the only one who had two elements. At the same time, Nathan also had the potential to cultivate multiple laws by using his Soul Contract.

“Of course. You can choose multiple laws. However, you need to train all of them, so your progress will be slower.

“I don’t think I need to say this, but multiple laws don’t mean it’s better. If I use a human example, a swordsman who can wield one thousand weapons might not be able to win against a swordsman who masters one weapon.”

Nathan and the others nodded in understanding. Still, it was something they could consider in the future, especially for Evelyn.

“Once you have set up your rules, you need to do one more thing. And that is to redefine your power according to your rules.

“If a human wants to create the Law of Fire by setting up the rule to ‘you want to burn everything,’ it means you have to change your fire into a fire that can burn everything. How do you change that fire?

“The answer is heat. You redefine your fire element as the source of heat. In other words, the moment you change your fire element like this, your fire element won’t be able to protect anyone anymore. It will burn the people around you as well.

“That’s why you need to be careful when setting up your rules. Once it has been set up, it can’t be changed. If violated, you might lose your entire power. You can say that past this rule is a point of no return.

“Most living beings will set up rules that can be flexible, but at the same time, it will also weaken the power of law.

“I won’t tell you how to proceed with your own law because each of you has experienced different things, the way you think is different, and your body is different.

“You have to find your own rules. These two are the things you need for the first phase.”

Nathan and the others fell silent. It was a complex process, but they finally understood why Cthulhu was so strong. He was the embodiment of fear. By condensing this power to go beyond what the limit was, he could instill fear all around the world.

Fenrir’s Law of Strength was extremely simple. He might not be as versatile as Anubis or Mae, but his strength was considered absolute. No, it might be one level beyond absolute.

Cthulhu continued, “Regarding the second step, which is to infuse the law you’ve condensed into your body. The process itself is quite hard and complicated, so I won’t tell you what you’re supposed to do yet.

“If you set up your rules and adjust them so that they can match the second step, it will cause a conflict. Hence, once you condense your own law, I don’t mind if you visit this place again, as I will tell you about it at that time.

“Of course, if you can summon gods that can explain it to you, I don’t have to say anything. Last but not least, the infused law will assimilate and gradually transform your body into a new divine body. There’s nothing that needs to be said for the last step because you will naturally do it. There are ways to speed it up, but I won’t tell you yet.

“Once you complete these three steps, you will be able to become gods. However, this is just the transition phase. We often call this state “pseudo-god,” which is my current state.

“If you plan to cross the last step, you need the most mysterious power in the universe. The condensation of Karma, Fate, and Destiny.”

“!!!” Nathan was the only person who reacted to that revelation. Anubis, Mae, and even Qilin said the same thing. Back then, Anubis added Luck and Divination, but it looked like they were already in the correct direction. They just hadn’t figured out the last clue.

Cthulhu added, “Although they are mostly known by those words, they can be described in another way. The past, the present, and the future. In other words, if you want to become gods, you need to combine your past, your present, and your future into one.”
