Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1124: Divine Beast Summoning

The people were in utter shock. This was the first time they had heard the truth behind the summoning power.

Charlotte exclaimed, “So that’s how it is. The integration can’t accept beings outside humanoid because this world used the original inhabitants as the base.

“At the same time, this also means humans from other worlds can’t be integrated at all.

“That’s why we can’t summon beasts, plants, or humans through the summoning power. And because we’re only a fragment of existence, there’s no way we can reproduce.

“The reason we are not able to reproduce is not because we are from different species, but because we, familiars, are just fragments of existence. We aren’t supposed to exist anymore in the first place.”

“You can put it that way.” Cthulhu agreed.

Nathan also finally figured out why he could evolve the beings in this world. It was simply because he could access the world’s information… the information that had been integrated into this world.

“Then, why would he be able to summon beasts?” Charlotte pointed at Nathan.

“He…” Cthulhu paused for a moment. It was an easy answer. Unlike all other familiars in this world, he was a complete being. His soul came from Earth, which still exists.

Although the fragment of Earth had been integrated into this world, which was the reason the people could summon Lilith, Michael, or even the death gods from Earth, there were fragments that weren’t accepted by this world.

Nathan possessed one of the rejected fragments, which, in his case, was the fragment of beast. Thanks to his soul entering this world, he was the only person who could access that fragment. He brought this fragment directly from Earth.

And the one that allowed everything was the Soul Contract. He might not be able to imagine everything that happened that led to his transmigration to this world or how the Soul Contract played a role in it, but he at least got a good grasp of why he came to this place.

Unfortunately, Cthulhu couldn’t give that answer. Nathan personally didn’t want to reveal his transmigration.

Hence, Cthulhu gave a vague answer. “His existence is something that not even our gods can predict. After looking at the prophecy, it’s not hard to determine that he is the true chosen one in this generation.”

It didn’t give Charlotte the answer, but she knew Nathan was so unique that even the aliens might not be able to describe him. Although she had long known about Nathan’s uniqueness, it looked like he was more unique than she originally thought.

This time, Evelyn opened his mouth. “Although we know the origin of the summoning power, how do you give the summoning power in the first place? How come people know about the summoning chant?”

“We didn’t do anything. The summoning power itself already existed in this world after the integration. There were many traces of it from other worlds. They often summoned living beings from other worlds to do something for them.”

‘What the fuck?!’ Nathan instantly cursed in his heart. ‘Isekai? Are we talking about Isekai? We’re talking about Isekai right now? Summoning people as heroes… Usually, those people will gain cheats, but in reality, they bring power that exists on Earth but gets assimilated to the new worlds.

‘In other words, each person who gets isekai-ed brings a small fragment from Earth. They’re fragments from Earth’s god age. They’re from beings who even Cthulhu acknowledges as equals to their Outer Gods. It’s no wonder those cheats are so freaking powerful.’

‘Isekai is real! Maybe when I’m strong enough and can return to Earth, I can prove that Isekai is real?’ Nathan was excited about the idea, but his mind calmed down abruptly as though there was freezing water poured on his brain as soon as the thought of the singularity appeared in his mind.

‘That’s right… I can’t do anything as long as the singularity still threatens the universe. I might be able to enjoy it in my generation, but the later generations will be wiped out.

‘My Soul Contract is a power that grants me access to information of this world that has been integrated with other worlds. In other words, it’s a power that contains multiple worlds, including Earth’s god age.

‘If I play it correctly, I might be able to become even stronger than the true gods. But this also means I have to accept my fate as the chosen one. Why am I even the chosen one?

‘I don’t really want to become one. I am nothing but a selfish person. All I want is to have a peaceful life with my family. But I guess I should fulfill my selfishness even if it means getting rid of a singularity who plans to threaten that dream.’

Nathan’s eyes turned solemn as though he had made his decision.

Meanwhile, Cthulhu continued, “While the summoning powers exist in other worlds and have been integrated into this world, the humans have yet to gain access to that information.

“That’s where we come in. We first accessed that jumbled information and gave it to humans on all continents 500 years ago.

“By giving that information, the humans in this world finally have access to the power that can utilize the integration of other worlds.”

At first, they thought it was the power that the aliens granted. But it turned out the aliens merely accessed it and handed it over to the humans.

And the humans took that jumbled information and gradually refined it and improved it. That was the reason for all the improvement in the summoning chants in the past 500 years.

Cthulhu said, “Only you, who are using the power, will be able to improve it. We believe that even if 500 years ago failed, the present will become another chance due to the progress humanity has made. If it still fails, there will be one more chance in the future, when knowledge has improved further.

“Just like your predecessor, I will say this: I don’t have any intention of forcing you to help us. Forcing you to do it for the greater good is the worst we can do.

“Instead, I request one thing from you. Even if you choose not to fight alongside us, I hope you can become the beacon of progress for humanity so that 300 years later, we will have the chance to defeat our common enemy, the singularity.”
