Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 965: Nathan vs Evelyn (3)

”Surprise!” Fenrir waved both paws, shattering her barrier.

The barrier shattered like glass, unable to hold Fenrirʼs strength.

However, it didnʼt seem everything had gone according to their plan. If this plan had worked, Fenrirʼs paw would have hit her in the back.

To Fenrirʼs surprise, Evelyn shifted her stance almost immediately and grabbed his massive claw before hitting him from below.

”!!!” Fenrir widened his eyes in surprise. Evelyn had just moved at a much faster speed than he originally expected. ”You are intentionally moving slower?!”

Fenrirʼs body flipped above her head. She answered him by rotating her body and punching him on the back before Fenrir fell to the ground.

”Gah!” Fenrir screamed as his body bounced several times on the ground and crushed several trees on the way before stopping.

”!!!” The rest of the familiars looked surprised. Fenrir had given them all the information they needed.

As soon as they knew Evelynʼs speed, they switched their tactics instantly.

Evelyn raised her stance back, ready to take on everyone.

But Nathan also had prepared another surprise for her.

This time, it was Evelynʼs turn to be surprised. She hurriedly waved her hand to the left, using her ena to disrupt the flow of ena coming from the sky. All of a sudden, several bullets appeared out of thin air, their positions not far from her anymore.

It turned out Mae had been working with Nathan the whole time, using her illusion to trick her into thinking nothing was coming.

Each bullet was thick and the ena inside of them was violent. Evelyn knew what kind of attack it was. It was Nathanʼs Artillery, and he didnʼt even split it into 64. Instead, he focused all that power into eight bullets.

That was why Mae needed to use her illusion to trick her, since the speed was reduced due to how much energy was contained within those bullets.

All the familiars leaped back, avoiding the huge blast.

Boom!

The blast was so powerful that even Bella, who was already quite far, needed to use her ena to protect herself from the shock wave.

ʼI have never thought Nathan would be this strong. Isnʼt he only a grandmaster? No. The last time I saw his strength, he was weaker than Sonia.

ʼBut looking at this, Iʼm afraid that he has surpassed Sonia… or even Christopher, from the firepower alone.

ʼHis familiars are also stronger than anything I have seen so far. In addition, not a single familiar is abandoned. Even that wolf, who is the first familiar, is still going strong. No, he might be even stronger than most familiars here…

ʼAlthough his fighting style needs to be refined even further, itʼs enough for a head-on confrontation.

ʼStill, if you think you can defeat Evelyn that way, youʼre mistaken. Even though Evelyn canʼt summon her familiar and can only use one element, she is still a world class summoner. Her strength alone is above an elite class alien.

ʼBut I donʼt think Evelyn is using everything she has… At most, she has limited herself to an arcane level. However, her high mastery over martial arts and that level of control shouldnʼt be that easy to defeat.ʼ

Bella observed the battle closely. She knew Evelyn was simply testing Nathanʼs strength to see whether he would be useful or not in a battle against the Divine Hand.

Although Nathan had joined their Sleeping Garden, Nathanʼs position was similar to a commissioned officer who would do things for a certain price.

However, it didnʼt really matter. As long as Nathan was useful, they would utilize him. They just had to make sure that Nathan wouldnʼt become a burden, forcing them to protect him instead.

Besides, it didnʼt seem that Nathan was bad either. He might try to flirt, but he didnʼt do it excessively.

She still remembered how people kept chasing after Evelyn or just admiring her from a distance. Even if they dared to pursue her, they didnʼt have enough strength to back them up. The only thing they could rely on was the status their parents gave them.

Meanwhile, Nathan rose from the very bottom. While he had those unique familiars, he expanded his strength in other areas as well, such as academic study. She had seen a lot of people who became too arrogant just because they suddenly awakened an unexpected talent or thing, acting like the person they used to hate.

In the end, those people were the same as the people they hated. The only difference was they didnʼt have the strength to do that before.

However, Nathan wasnʼt like that. Despite having such an overwhelming ability, he seemed to take extra precaution when fighting Evelyn. If not, he wouldnʼt have hidden himself among the trees.

Bella squinted her eyes while muttering, ”Wait a minute… This kind of fighting style… Why do I feel like theyʼre similar? Donʼt tell me… The reason for his confidence is that he has calculated everything and always takes a battle he will win. This is just like Evelyn…”

As she said, Nathan had calculated everything, including the path to win. Still, no one knew whether he would succeed or not.

The same applied to Evelyn. She knew how to defeat Nathan, but the familiars were stronger than she originally thought.

With the bombardment from earlier, Evelyn was forced to leap up in the sky, barely avoiding the blast.

But Nidhogg and Jinwu had been waiting for her.

Nidhogg tried to grab her with his talons while Jinwu activated his domain to heat up the air.

”Tsk.” Evelyn hurriedly kicked one claw, but Nidhogg managed to capture her with another claw.

But before he could clench, Evelyn used her gravity to create a force in all directions, forcing Nidhogg to let her go. Then she grabbed his claw before swinging herself toward Jinwu.

”!!!” Jinwu released his sunbeam, trying to overwhelm her.

However, Evelyn waved down, causing the sunbeam to curve down to the ground. Qilin neutralized her power, but that little time was enough for Evelyn to step on the air and kick Jinwu down with the help of gravity.
