Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 381: Crow vs Beetle

Meanwhile, Jinwu and the beetle queen had a different kind of fight.

The beetle queen summoned numerous beetles out of thin air. Each beetle was at least the size of a humanʼs fist.

They were flying toward Jinwu in all directions.

However, Jinwu simply summoned the sphere of heat and sent it into the air.

The heat produced by the sphere was dispersed in all directions. Those who were near it would be burned.

Some beetles that were still quite far away even got burned.

The blazing wave eventually reached the edge of the arena, where it was contained by the barrier.

Nevertheless, the students could feel the intense heat from this wave.

”This is too hot, donʼt you think?”

”Is a fire this hot?”

”This is not normal. What kind of heat is this?”

The students were confused.

”Principal. What do you think about this heat?” Filia asked. Even she had no idea about the power of this heat.

Sullivan squinted his eyes. ”Iʼm not entirely sure myself. The heat itself surpasses a normal fire. And looking at how his domain is able to control time… or more like the sun, is his power coming directly from the sun?”

”The sun?!” Filia raised her head. Now that she thought about it, the sun had gradually risen after Jinwu changed it.

The heat became more intense because of it.

”The sun?” Noelle widened her eyes.

”Yeah. Nathan said it himself. This crow is living in the sun and ends up becoming the one to represent the sun.” Flora nodded. ”At this rate, the four familiars will win their respective battle, and they will gang up on Alavenya. It does look like Nathan is able to hold out until that time arrives.”

The beetle queen flew toward Jinwu with a shield in her hand.

Jinwu flew around, trying to distract her before shooting out the sun ray, but because she left no gap, he ended up releasing the sun ray prematurely.

The beetle queen blocked it with the shell shield for a bit. Once she felt the ray was weakened, she abandoned the shield and looped around.

Jinwu didnʼt realize it until now, but the beetle queenʼs flying speed was actually faster than his.

As a result, the beetle queen reached him and used her crab-like hands to smack him on the head.

Jinwu wanted to avoid it, but several beetles that survived earlier suddenly hit him from behind so that he couldnʼt escape.

He spread his wings and reflected the sunlight with his feathers, focusing them on the beetle queen.

As a result, the beetle queen had to avoid it at the last second. She couldnʼt get closer to Jinwu at all.

If this was anyone else, she would have been able to hit them or at least headbutt them with her horn.

Still, she didnʼt back down completely. While flying away, she extended her crab-like hand. Her Ena created a manifestation of her hand with a much larger size, trying to crush Jinwu.

Jinwu, on the other hand, calmly summoned his sun and entered it. He then flapped his wings, sending one wave to kill the remaining beetles and the other one toward this claw manifestation.

The claw manifestation and the blazing wave clashed with each other as the Ena that made the claw manifestation burned. However, the claw manifestation didnʼt just take the beating. It still pinched the blazing wave and crushed it.

Even though Jinwuʼs ability was much more effective against multiple enemies, it didnʼt mean he was weak.

It appeared the beetle queen had yet to fully release her strength.

To test his theory, Jinwu gathered the sunlight in his throat.

He couldnʼt help but glance to the side when he did it.

”!!!” The beetle queen noticed that glance and followed it, finding the dark butterfly. In that instant, she realized Jinwu was trying to harm the dark butterfly so that the battle would turn in their favor.

Hence, she immediately flew in her way. When Jinwu released the sun ray, she raised both arms. A huge translucent barrier appeared in front of her, withstanding Jinwuʼs attack.

ʼHeh. As expected, the beetle is not using everything she has. What is her ability? The manifestation of a barrier and a claw… Is her ability something like a manifestation or something? She is able to summon beetles as well.ʼ

Jinwu squinted his eyes.

If his prediction was correct, he finally knew how to beat her.

That was why he had to test it first.

”Time change. Afternoon.”

”!!!” The people in the arena and the beetle queen noticed that the sky had turned orange.

”Itʼs already at this time?” Flora frowned.

The beetle queen noticed that the air suddenly became dry. The barrier that had been hit by Jinwu earlier flared up and turned into a blaze, engulfing the entire barrier.

After that, Jinwu raised both wings and reflected the light, concentrating it on the beetle queen. Instead of taking it head-on, the beetle queen wanted to avoid it by flying. In the end, she was faster than Jinwu.

Of course, she also summoned her beetles so that they could suck up some damage.

Jinwu abruptly spread the light. Instead of using it to kill the beetles, he just wanted the beetle queen to have a harder time in dodging his attack.

With such an unpredictable pattern, she had no choice but to recall the beetles and form a barrier instead.

Jinwu secretly smirked because his test was successful. As he expected, the beetle queen could only manifest one thing that was related to her.

Once they were gone, Jinwu shifted his wings so that the light would be concentrated on the barrier. However, the lights didnʼt become one. Instead, it spread all over the barrier as if it was trying to melt it faster.

The beetle used this time to escape her predicament, but little did it know the lights were meant to cover her eyes.

She didnʼt realize because of all those lights that Jinwu was able to already approach her while maintaining her attack without her realizing it.

When she tried to move away, Jinwu suddenly struck with his talons from the side.

Shocked, the beetle wanted to get away, but to no avail. Jinwu tossed her to the ground and flapped his wings, sending forth the blazing wave and hitting the beetle queen this time.
