Strongest Incubus System

The void didn’t disappear when the previous message dissipated. On the contrary—it seemed to deepen, as if that brief interaction had been only the surface of something much larger being prepared. Damon remained motionless in that nonexistent space, his eyes scanning the nothingness with increasing attention, as if expecting something to emerge from there. He wasn’t really breathing, there was no air there, but still there was rhythm to his existence, an invisible cadence that seemed to accompany the very workings of what was now being rebuilt within him.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then—

Light.

It didn’t come from a specific point. It didn’t appear as a flame or a flash. It was more subtle… more invasive. A soft hue began to form in the absolute void, tinging the nothingness with a translucent pinkish tone that spread slowly, like ink dissolving in invisible water. It didn’t illuminate the space—it created the very concept of space around Damon.

He narrowed his eyes slightly.

”Now then… you’ve decided to really show up,” he murmured, his tone still laden with irony, but with a much sharper focus than before.

Before him, the structure took shape.

An interface.

Much more refined.

Much more… alive.

It was no longer just raw text thrown into the void. There were layers, depth, an organization that not only displayed information—it reacted to his presence. Subtle lines pulsed like veins of energy, connecting different invisible sections that had not yet been fully revealed.

And then—

The central message appeared.

[Update complete.]

Damon tilted his head slightly.

”...this is new,” he commented, crossing his arms as he analyzed the interface. ”And what exactly is this supposed to mean?”

The answer didn’t come as before.

It wasn’t an immediate text.

For a brief second, the entire interface… breathed.

And then, as if something had finally been unlocked—

The information began to appear.

Not slowly.

But not chaotically either.

It was… controlled.

Precisely organized.

The status window appeared before him.

But it wasn’t the same.

Not even close.

It was bigger.

Denser.

Much more complex.

[Name: Damon]

[Age: 19]

[Race: Primordial Incubus | Ascended Vampire]

[Status: Complete Evolutionary Synchronization]

[Cultivation: Crimson Executor (Phase 3)]

[Talent: Awakened]

[Level: 78]

Damon didn’t react immediately.

But his eyes… focused.

[HP: 12,800 / 12,800]

[Mana: 9,600 / 9,600]

[Vital Energy: 100%]

[STR: 214]

[AGI: 236]

[VIT: 221]

[STM: 208]

[INT: 229]

[DEF: 210]

[RES: 205]

[SEN: 198]

[Free Points: 120]

Silence.

Damon blinked once.

Slowly.

”...okay,” he murmured.

But there was no disdain this time.

Just… processing.

”This is… different.”

And then—

The interface expanded.

As if it had expected exactly this recognition.

New layers emerged, overlapping the space around him, organizing themselves into multiple slowly rotating panels, each carrying distinct information.

[Active Skills]

• Touch of Asmodeus (Lv. 7 → Lv. 15)

• Imperial Piercing – Crimson Execution (Lv. 10 → Lv. 18)

• Advanced Vital Drain (Lv. 1)

• Blood Mastery: Fluid Manipulation (Lv. 3)

• Shadow Step (Lv. 5)

• Sensory Disruption (Lv. 4)

• Night Mastery: Amplification (Lv. 6)

• Predatory Echo (Lv. 2)

• Minor Summoning – Shadow Fragments (Lv. 1)

Damon chuckled softly through his nose.

”So you decided to really work this time…”

But he didn’t finish. Because it… kept going.

[Passive Abilities]

• Regenerative Vampiric Body (Enhanced)

• Incubus Core – Emotional Extraction (Unlocked)

• Extreme Sensory Resistance (New)

• Evolutionary Adaptation (New)

• Predatory Instinct (Enhanced)

• Combat Synchronization (New)

• Residual Energy Absorption (New)

Now—

He fell silent.

Because that… explained it.

”So that was it…,” he murmured, his eyes narrowing slightly.

The interface responded.

This time—

With voice.

[Confirmation.]

The presence of the voice wasn’t invasive like before.

It was… integrated.

As if it had always been a part of him.

[System was operating with structural limitations, as previously reported.]

Damon kept his eyes fixed on the interface for a few seconds after that, absorbing not only the words, but the implicit weight behind them. There was no hesitation in the tone of voice, no glitches, no delay. This… was working. Really.

And that, in itself, made all the difference.

He slowly uncrossed his arms, letting them fall to his sides as his eyes scanned the numbers before him again—this time with more attention, more intention.

[STR: 314]

[AGI: 336]

[VIT: 321]

[STM: 308]

[INT: 329]

[DEF: 310]

[RES: 305]

[SEN: 298]

There was a brief silence.

And then—

A smile appeared.

Slow.

Controlled.

”...that’s pretty strong,” he murmured, almost to himself, but without hiding the tone of approval. His head tilted slightly to the side as he continued analyzing the data, like someone evaluating a newly forged weapon.

”300 in all attributes...” he continued, discreetly running his tongue along the inside of his cheek, thoughtfully. ”That’s already entering absurd territory.”

But there was no discomfort in the realization.

Quite the opposite.

There was… interest.

Because it didn’t seem exaggerated.

It seemed… right.

As if, somehow, he was already approaching it—and the system had just finally caught up.

His eyes rose again.

They passed over the abilities.

The passives.

The states.

Until—

They stopped.

On the line that really mattered. [Race: Primordial Incubus | Ascended Vampire]

Damon was silent for a few seconds.

But this time—

It wasn’t superficial processing.

It was… real focus.

He took a small step forward—not that there was any direction in that space, but the gesture still carried intention.

”Primordial… Incubus,” he repeated slowly, as if testing the weight of the words in his own mouth. His eyes narrowed slightly.

”That wasn’t there before.”

The interface didn’t take long.

[Confirmation.]

”So let’s simplify,” he continued, now looking directly at the central layer of the interface, as if staring at something with a will of its own. ”What does this mean?”

For a brief moment—

Silence.

But not empty.

It was… charged.

And then—

The answer came.

[Primordial Incubus: The highest evolutionary state of the Incubus lineage.]

Damon arched an eyebrow slightly.

”...highest?”

[Confirmation.]

The interface expanded slightly, as if making room for something larger.

[Individuals classified as Primordial no longer follow the genetic limitations of the original species.]

He remained motionless.

But his attention… intensified.

[Capacity for adaptation, absorption, and evolution exceeds natural patterns.]

A pause.

And then—

[You are no longer just part of the race.]

His eyes narrowed.

[You represent its pinnacle.]

Silence.

This time—

Longer.

More dense.

Damon didn’t respond immediately.

His gaze remained fixed on that line as if trying to cross it, as if he wanted to find some kind of exaggeration, some flaw, any indication that it was… too optimistic.

He found none.

He took a deep breath.

Slowly.

And then he released the air in a small, low laugh.

”...peak, huh...”

He put his hand to the back of his neck, tilting his head slightly to the side as he absorbed it.

There was no arrogance in the reaction.

But there was also no denial.

It was… acceptance.

”That explains a lot,” he murmured, more to himself than to the system.

His eyes lowered again to the rest of the interface, now with a new lens of interpretation. The skills, the attributes, the states—all of that ceased to seem like just high numbers.

It began to make sense.

Because it wasn’t just growth.

It was… transition.

”So it’s not just strength,” he continued, his voice lower, more thoughtful. ”It’s structure.”

[Correct.]

”My body has changed to support this.”

[Correct.]

”My energy… too.”

[Correct.]

He let out a small sigh.

But not from exhaustion.

From understanding.

”So that previous limitation…” he began, looking back at the system.

[Previous body couldn’t support continuous evolution.]

”But now it can.”

[Yes.]

Silence.

And then—

A small smile returned.

Different from the previous one.

More… sharp.

”Good to know I won’t break down in the middle of a fight anymore,” he murmured.

[Correction.]

The system responded immediately.

Damon raised his gaze slightly.

”...correction?”

[Damage patterns still apply.]

A pause.

[But recovery and adaptation capacity increased by 312%.]

He laughed.

This time—

For real.

”Of course… nothing’s perfect.”

But he didn’t seem bothered.

His eyes returned once more to the race line.

[Primordial Incubus]

And then—

He nodded slightly.

Once.

Like someone making a silent decision.

”...okay,” he finally said.

Without sarcasm.

Without disdain.

Without resistance.

Just… acceptance.

”If that’s how it works now…”

He raised his gaze.

And the smile returned.

Slow.

Controlled.

But definitely more dangerous than before.

”...then let’s see how far this goes.”

…

Outside—

Elizabeth didn’t move.

She sat on the edge of the sofa, her body leaning slightly forward, her eyes fixed on Damon with an intensity unusual even for her. Her fingers rested near his arm—not touching, but close enough to feel.

And she felt.

From the moment he fell.

But now—

It was different.

”...he’s changed,” she murmured, her voice low but firm, as if stating something that didn’t need confirmation.

Morgana, kneeling on the other side, still held Damon’s hand tightly, as if she feared he would simply… disappear.

”Of course he’s changed, he just fainted out of nowhere—”

”No,” Elizabeth interrupted softly, without looking away. ”That’s not it.”

There was a brief silence.

Aria tilted her head slightly, curious, her eyes gliding over Damon’s body with more refined attention than before. ”What do you mean…?”

Elizabeth didn’t answer immediately.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

As if she were… analyzing something invisible.

”He seems… different.”

The word didn’t come with hesitation.

It came with precision.

Esther, who had been standing a little further back, observing the situation with her arms crossed, finally took a step forward. Her expression remained controlled, but her eyes—attentive, analytical—fixated on Damon more deeply.

She didn’t look at the body.

She looked… beyond.

And then—

She nodded.

”Slightly,” she said.

Morgana frowned.

”Slightly? He’s unconscious!”

”It’s not about that,” replied Esther, her voice calm but firm. She took another step, now stopping beside Elizabeth, also observing Damon with focused attention.

”It’s his energy.”

Silence.

Aria blinked.

”...energy?”

Ester tilted her head slightly.

”It’s increasing.”

Morgana looked immediately at Damon.

”But... he’s not doing anything.”

”Exactly,” Ester replied.

And this—

Caught everyone’s attention.

Elizabeth finally moved her hand.

Slowly.

Approaching.

Until she lightly touched his arm.

And the moment her fingers touched—

She stopped.

Not out of hesitation.

But out of perception.

Her eyes narrowed once more.

”This isn’t natural,” she murmured.

Aria approached as well, now visibly more interested, leaning in slightly to observe closely.

”What are you feeling?”

Elizabeth didn’t remove her hand from his.

”Stability,” she replied.

A pause.

”And growth.”

Silence.

Ester crossed her arms again.

”There’s no fluctuation,” she added. ”There’s no energetic instability, no dispersion…”

Her eyes focused even more.

”...everything is being integrated.”

Morgana looked between the two.

Confused.

”...is that good or bad?”

Elizabeth finally looked away from Damon.

But only for a second.

”It depends.”

Aria raised an eyebrow.

”That doesn’t help much.”

Elizabeth looked back at him.

”That means whatever happened… it wasn’t a collapse.”

A pause.

”It was a transformation.”

The air seemed to grow thicker after that.

Morgana squeezed Damon’s hand lightly.

”...then why doesn’t he wake up?”
