Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1049: Go Ahead and Try

The Overseer focused on the world with desperate determination. She was so close to comprehending the Law of Minor Death! She could feel it!

Yet, she also knew that the Elemental Dimension was starting to run out of Elementals. She had changed the Formation Arrays around five years ago, and as expected, the Elemental Dimension was at its limits.

Over 90% of the Law Wells in the Abyss had vanished. Without an Elemental supporting them, they couldnʼt keep existing. The Elemental Energies would simply disperse into the surroundings.

The Formation Arrays were working overtime. The Force Changing Formation Arrays were turning off and on, while the Barrier Formation Array had several cracks on it. These cracks made it unstable, but fixing them would cost far too much Energy.

BANG!

The Barrier Formation Array broke into pieces. Its Bases, Nodes, and Connections broke into pieces, turning into Elemental Energies.

With a last wave of her hands, the Overseer pushed the Elemental Energy into a makeshift Energy Source for the Force Changing Formation Array.

That was enough for another ten days.

The Overseer kept focusing; her mind determined and unshakable. She had survived for over a billion years in this world! For over a billion years, she had tried to break free! Despite the hopelessness of her situation, she had never given up!

She had to succeed! She even swore to herself that she would commit suicide if she failed, hoping that the pressure would push her forward. If she couldnʼt even comprehend such an easy Law within ten years, how could she ever hope to escape?!
BOOOM!

Ten days later, the Force Changing Formation Arrays broke as well. For the first time in an eternity, there were no more Formation Arrays in the Elemental Dimension.

The Ascension Pools were no longer a deathtrap.

The Overseer hadnʼt finished comprehending her Law yet, but she continued.

A month passed. No Ascenders.

Six months. No Ascenders.

A year.

An Ascender.

When she felt the space changing, her mind went crazy.

No, not now!

She was so close!

Her eyes narrowed as she made her decision.

She gathered all of her Energy.

She would destroy the Ascension Pool!

So what if she died?! She had failed anyway! She deserved to die!

As she prepared her attack, she accepted her death. A deep feeling of finality entered her mind.

BOOOM!

She halted her attack as she combined the last concepts, finishing the Law of Minor Death!

The Ascension Pool stabilized, and a moment later, a New Sage appeared inside of it. He looked around in confusion for a while. When he had ascended to his previous Secondary World, he had immediately seen several people waiting by the Ascension Pool.

This time, there was nobody.

Strange.

Meanwhile, the Overseer closed her eyes and focused on her insights. A moment later, a black ball appeared in her hands.

Death, or more precisely, Energy that mimicked Death.

When Fierce Breaker noticed the black ball, a small smirk appeared on his face.

ʼHe even predicted that,ʼ Fierce Breaker thought. ʼWhat were the numbers again? 10% chance that she would give me the position of Overseer. 10% chance that she would destroy the Ascension Pools. 20% chance that she would hand the position to someone else. 45% chance that she would overdraw the Formation Arrays and comprehend the Law of Minor Death. 10% chance that she would overdraw the Formation Arrays and fail. 5% chance that something unforeseen happens.ʼ

ʼSeems like she passed the first trial. Itʼs not exactly expected but also not unexpected.ʼ

Fierce Breaker chuckled to himself. ʼItʼs crazy how accurate he is.ʼ

”Youʼve succeeded,” Fierce Breaker commented from behind her.

The Overseer ignored Fierce Breaker. Her entire focus was on the ball of False Death.

Finally, there was a chance that she might escape!

After a while, she turned to Fierce Breaker. Was there any use in keeping him alive?

As she saw Fierce Breakerʼs calm demeanor, she got the urge to kill him. His arrogance rubbed her the wrong way.

ʼMy own trial has arrived,ʼ Fierce Breaker thought as he looked at the Overseer, ʼbut itʼs a small one. Swamp Dragon said that I had a 98% survival rate. It all depends on...ʼ

Fierce Breaker held his right arm forward, and in the next moment, a black ball appeared on top of it. He had also comprehended the Law of Minor Death.

ʼSwamp Dragon was a bit off. He said I would probably need seven years to comprehend it, but I actually needed nine. According to his predictions, depending on Kyleʼs mastery over the Laws of Karmic Luck, he needs between five and twelve years to comprehend the Law of Minor Death inside the Elemental Dimension. If Kyle is still alive, he should have comprehended it by now.ʼ

When the Overseer saw the ball of False Death in Fierce Breakerʼs hands, she grew frustrated.

She was the Overseer!

She was an Immortal!

She was over a billion years old!

She had so much more experience!

Yet, Fierce Breaker had comprehended the Law of Minor Death before her!

Her desire to kill him shot through the roof, but at the same time, an opposing desire appeared.

Earlier, she had viewed Fierce Breaker as utterly beneath her. Killing him wouldnʼt have any impact.

But now, Fierce Breaker had outclassed her in something. If she killed him now, she would feel like she was running from a challenge.

ʼAccording to Swamp Dragon, if someoneʼs still trying to escape after hundreds of millions of years, they must have an exceptional competitive drive. Showing them that I can compare to them in something will encourage them to compete with me.ʼ

ʼBut thereʼs nothing to compete on. This was our only game, and I won.ʼ

”What now?” Fierce Breaker asked, dispelling the ball of False Death. ”Do you feel threatened?”

The Overseerʼs eyes turned cold. ”Do you believe you can threaten me?”

”Depends,” Fierce Breaker said. ”Right now, no, but what about the far future?”

The Overseer snorted coldly. ”You believe you can reach my level of power within 1.2 million years?”

”Possible,” Fierce Breaker answered with a light chuckle. ”I might not be able to comprehend all Level Seven Laws, but I might be able to push my Imposing Law to 70% or 80%. At the same time, I can also create one or two additional Avatars. You have neither of these things.”

The Overseer didnʼt seem impressed. ”Youʼre free to try. I might still have need for you, but I also wonʼt force you to accompany me.”

”Unfortunately, for both of us, we might never find out. If I can find a way out, I will get rid of all witnesses.”

”Sure, go ahead and try,” Fierce Breaker answered with a calm smile. ”Itʼs not that easy to get past the World Wall without real Death. Itʼs not impossible, but according to Swamp Dragon...”

”Itʼs very, very, very difficult.”

The Overseer just looked at Fierce Breaker coldly.

Then, she vanished, leaving Fierce Breaker alone.

ʼThe second trial has started,ʼ he thought. ʼLetʼs see how you will fare.ʼ

ʼChances of success: 0.000000000000001%?ʼ

ʼChances of the world exploding: 10%.ʼ

ʼChances of only the Overseer dying: 60%.ʼ

ʼChances of reaching the third trial: About 30%.ʼ

ʼEither way, she will be busy for a long time. Kyle, if youʼre still alive, use that time wisely.ʼ

The authorʼs patreon. If he gets more than 1000 per month, he will increase the number of words in the chapter.
