Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

143: Chapter 143 Subduing the Forest Giant Turtle, and Receiving an Island?”How bold, to dare show disrespect to the Eagle Emperor!” the Deep Sea Flood Dragon scolded.

”Apologies, apologies, they are ignorant. I implore the Eagle Emperor to be magnanimous and not hold it against them,” the Forest Giant Turtle said hastily.

This was the first time they had seen their king act so humbly, and they felt incredibly indignant. However, since their king had spoken, they could only obey and return to the forest, not wanting to cause any trouble for their king.

”It is fine; I do not mind.” Bai Xuan did not hold it against them.

”Many thanks, Eagle Emperor.” The Forest Giant Turtle breathed a sigh of relief.

”Are you truly willing to serve me?” Bai Xuan went straight to the point and asked.

”Absolutely true. I implore the Eagle Emperor to accept this little brother.” The Forest Giant Turtle replied hastily.

By saying this, there was a high probability that nothing would go wrong.

”Are you aware of my rules?”

”To express my apology, I am willing to hand over fifty percent of my resources as a tribute to the Eagle Emperor.” To avoid being targeted in the future, the Forest Giant Turtle offered an extra ten percent, hoping to appease the Eagle Emperor.

”Very well.” Bai Xuan nodded slightly. Following the procedure, the Forest Giant Turtle handed over the resources and joined the faction of ferocious beasts led by Bai Xuan.

Bai Xuan then took out a feather and a spatial treasure, giving them to the Forest Giant Turtle and explaining how to use them.

Bai Xuan still had many spatial treasures, all obtained from the Zerg ferocious beasts; they could be used once the restrictions were removed.

Afterward, the Forest Giant Turtle told Bai Xuan about some matters and also explained the situation regarding the beasts on its back. These beasts were its friends from when it was weak. Because they were very weak on land and risked becoming food for other ferocious beasts, and also had to avoid the Zerg army, the Forest Giant Turtle had moved the small hills and forests onto itself.

It allowed the beasts to live on its back. As its level grew higher and higher, advancing to the fifth rank and becoming a Beast King, its size became even more massive, eventually reaching its current scale.

”I see. A ferocious beast as loyal as you is truly rare.” Hearing this, Bai Xuan nodded slightly and offered a word of praise.

”Brother Bai, actually, I am also very loyal.” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon said hastily.

”Oh.” Bai Xuan responded with a single word, calm and indifferent.

”I’m serious, I really am very loyal. If you don’t believe me, you can go and ask my subordinates.” Seeing Bai Xuan being so dismissive, the Deep Sea Flood Dragon felt that Bai Xuan did not trust it, and hastened to explain.

”I know, and I believe you. Is that enough?” Bai Xuan brushed it off, too lazy to investigate. He would watch the Deep Sea Flood Dragon’s future performance; if it performed well, Bai Xuan would naturally take note.

”...” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon was on the verge of tears. What was going on? Why was it being so dismissive? If it really came to it, it would just catch a few ferocious beasts to prove its sincerity.

The Forest Giant Turtle couldn’t help but snicker.

”What are you laughing at? Am I that funny?” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon looked toward the Forest Giant Turtle and questioned it in an indifferent tone.

Seeing the dangerous look in the Deep Sea Flood Dragon’s eyes, the Forest Giant Turtle forced itself to hold back its laughter and shook its head hastily:

”Nothing, I just remembered something happy.”

”What happy thing?”

”Being able to join the faction led by the Eagle Emperor is my honor. Shouldn’t I be happy about that?” the Forest Giant Turtle replied righteously.

”That is indeed something to be happy about.” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon naturally knew that the Forest Giant Turtle was laughing at it, but since things had reached this point, what else could it say? It just had to hold it in.

”By the way, Eagle Emperor, did you come here this time to subdue those Beast Kings?” the Forest Giant Turtle asked.

”Not necessarily.” Bai Xuan did not jump to conclusions so quickly. If they were agreeable, he would accept them; if not, he would wipe them out. He didn’t need so many Beast Kings consuming resources anyway.

”You two chat for a while; I’m going to take a look in the sea.” Bai Xuan had a rough understanding of the situation regarding the ferocious beast tribes in the sea; there was certainly no risk of killing the wrong ones.

Bai Xuan’s body grew larger, his wingspan reaching a thousand meters. He dove headfirst into the sea, heading toward his first target; his divine sense had already locked onto their location.

”You fellow are really fast, defecting to the Eagle Emperor so quickly.” The Forest Giant Turtle looked at the Deep Sea Flood Dragon and couldn’t help but say.

”That day would have come sooner or later, so why not defect earlier? Must one wait until he attacks?” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon rolled its eyes at it; regardless, it was very glad about its choice.

”That is also true. As long as one can preserve their life, everything else is just passing clouds. What’s fifty percent of resources anyway? Having money to take but no life to spend it is completely meaningless.” The Forest Giant Turtle nodded slightly, agreeing with this statement.

”Speaking of which, with your current strength, why do you still carry these... burdens? Wouldn’t it be fine to send them to a small island?” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon looked at the small hills and forests on the Forest Giant Turtle’s back, asking the question that had been in its mind.

After all, carrying them was too exhausting and also affected its own strength.

”I must correct you on one point: to me, they are definitely not burdens. As for sending them to an island, I do have that thought, but there are no islands in my territory. How about you cede an island to me? Anyway, we are companions now; what is mine is yours, and what is yours is mine.”

The Forest Giant Turtle sighed helplessly. Its territory really didn’t have any islands, and going to other territories was not reassuring, plus they were the territories of other Beast Kings, which was quite difficult to deal with.

But now, being under the Eagle Emperor’s command along with the Deep Sea Flood Dragon and in the same faction, communication and cooperation were very easy. If it really didn’t work out, it could ask the Eagle Emperor to mediate and designate an island for the ferocious beasts on its shell to inhabit.

”That is something that can be considered.” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon didn’t agree immediately; giving up an island wasn’t impossible, but it depended on the sincerity shown.

”You aren’t coveting the few resources I have left, are you?” The Forest Giant Turtle looked at the Deep Sea Flood Dragon with a disdainful gaze.

”Who would ever think they have too few resources?”

”Forget it, I won’t bother you. I’ll ask the Eagle Emperor to help me solve it. It’s not like I need you specifically; what are you acting so high and mighty for?”

”Don’t do that, I’ll give it to you, okay?” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon was afraid that it would add fuel to the fire when telling Bai Xuan, and it would be miserable if that happened.

”You are that kind-hearted?”

”Do you want it or not? If you don’t, forget it.”

”I want it, of course I want it. Then I will thank you, Old Snake, on behalf of my friends.”

”I am not a snake now, but a dragon. Call me Brother Dragon and let me hear it.”

”Still a dragon? I think you’re just a slightly larger snake.”

”What did you say? I’m giving you an island, and this is how you repay me?” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon was instantly unhappy.

”Yes, yes, yes, you are a dragon, happy now?” The Forest Giant Turtle said with a dismissive tone.

”...” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
